stop complaining wind turbines are the best there not noisey there green, and because of people moaning and putting up stupid signs my dad lost his job for vestas!!! i hate nimbys
Global warming or no global warming, wind energy is still the best! I can't say I am liberal in any way, but I do like renewable energy. I am hesitant to admit that, yes, the general extreme liberal perspective tends to be as Doug describes it. However, the renewable energy issue lies on facts ;)
The person recording should try standing next to a larger turbine with the 100 feet long blades (each). The one in this recording appears to be half that size.
All wind turbines in any condition and of any size aren't disturbingly noisy all the time from anywhere around them in any weather conditions. I wouldn't complain about this noise either. I would complain if I had to pay for the full cost of the electricity these things produce and live in the dark without me tele whenever it isn't windy.
...which is why we need an eneregy mix, wind, wave, solar and biomass.
In terms of cost, economists widely recognise that doing nothing about climate change will create economic catastrophe. We need to spend a little on solutions.
Climate change? Is that where you're coming from? The earth has cooled 1 1/2 F during the last 10 years. Unless someone knows how to decrease the heat of the sun, all the talk about climate change is for nothing. As for Al Gore and his Man Caused Global Warming, he's producing much of it himself with his hot air. Man Caused Global Warming is a SCAM designed to scare, control, and make money. At any rate, the Earth is now in a cooling phase.
Yes, approximately 2,000 politically correct scientists say it's man caused, and approximately 30,000 scientists say it isn't. The 30,000 are never mentioned because it doesn't fit the political agenda. It was much hotter in the mid-1930's than now, but then Al Gore wasn't around to manipulate the "climate change" into something it isn't.
There are not 30,000 scientists saying that. Show me and other You Tube users where you got that figure from. I'll tell you where you got it from shall I? You made it up, just like all wind nimbys make stuff up.
Oh, I forgot to add...someone who has already been brainwashed by the politically correct Liberal leadership is probably beyond saving. Your mind is already made up. Your Liberal blinders are in place to not see any other facts associated with the "Man Caused" Global Warming SCAM. I know that. You know that. Liberals live in La La Land and are the true looneys in society. Liberals base all decisions on "feelings," and not the facts of reality.
Im a wind turbine tech so i know how hard it is to get these morons that are jellous of the money there neighbors are getting off the turbines that they have no harmfull effects. I think the people that grip should go without electricity when oil dries up.
Only an imbecile (spelt correctly, unlike yours) thinks that oil will last for ever. It's funny how those who oppose wind power are always so rude. I wonder why?
Hi Windpowerrocks and friends, check out my videos, and please rate them! They're positioned to challenge the anti turbine NIMBY garbage merchants, and therefore, perhaps not surprisingly, they're picking up dishonest 1 star ratings from the NIMBY's (since when have the NIMBYs been honest??!) -Together we'll kick this 'wind turbine syndrome' nonsense in to the bush!
So how much are these? When I do see them, why aren't there a lot around? Do they generate a lot of energy and no need for a bunch in one place or are they really expensive? Your the tech, so I'm gonna ask.
What's your point? To me, that's not a good scenario. The oil will run out and before it runds out, as it gets scarce, it'll get hugely more expensive.
We need alternatives. Wind however, is not an alternative to oil - unless we have electric cars :)
Precisely! Put a small wind turbine on an electric car. As you dirve, you generate probably more than the electricity needed to get where you are going. Somebody out there has to be smart enough to figure a way to make that dream a reality. Trust me, if it aint you, it'll be me ;)
That's right... and they're being replaced. One modern turbine can replace ten of the type you're talking about. So we get fewer taller turbines. Sounds good to me.
I appreciate your effort to document the noise level, but honestly since you were talking through most of the video I couldn't hear the 'swoosh' you described. You could have added about 15 more seconds with no talking.
Thank you for posting this. You're right about the wind-nimbys, there's a group of people protesting an installation off of the Texas gulf coast, and because the statement of 'it ruins the view' didn't work to stop it, they've begun spouting this awful pseudo-scientific 'diagnosis' of wind turbine syndrome, the validity of which I question greatly.
Well, we're having great fun over here in the UK blowing apart these wind-nimby myths. Why not try a little campaigning against the nonsense yourself? A little research will soon show what rubbish nimbys talk. The nonsense needs to be countered! Nimbys are always self-interested, whether its house price, their view, having a financial stake in dirty, dangerous nuclear power etc. They've no interest in climate change. Gather your friends and form a pro-wind group :) and expose the liars!
For the benefit of the pro-nuke crowd, you should have included a few of the sounds that you hear regularly from so called "quiet" nuclear power plants:
I love this video! This is my experience with turbines - no noise! What's the big deal anyway we all drive cars louder than this by a long shot! If you use electricity at all you shouldn't be one to bash wind power. I travel with my husband all over the US and he erects these awesome things and NEVER has heard noise like everyone seems to be so worried about. My children & I also visit every farm several times and there is no noise!
Yes, they do make noise. You just can't hear it. They make low frequency noises, and vibration. It's called Wind Turbine Syndrome. It causes lack of sleep. Look it up.
'they make a noise but you can't hear it'- c'mon, lets get real. You've been taken in by the nonsense. Try looking up any actual evidence of problems. You wont find any. And before you mention it - the Dr Harry report is not real science.
one must imagine the constancy of the same freq. drumming in one's ears, especially if he or she is used to a relatively quieter life. It's more psychological then anything. Perhaps it can be attributed as a mass psychogenic illness. Or they just may be finding something to blame for their increased stress levels during these enduring times of war, economy, and change. Whatever it is, one must be sensitive to the issue and not say there is no issue at all because that would be ignorant.
I agree that we need to be sensitive. However, if made-up problems are being used to undermine a perfectly good technology that forms part of our renewable energy future along with wave, tidal and solar, then that needs to be exposed. Remember, climate change won't wait. We need action now. Wind power can provise around 20% of the planet's electricity.
I agree with the urgency for alternative energy sources but I don't find the resistance to wind turbines as problematic as the complacency of this generation however I agree it is a problem nonetheless. Seemed to notice wherever they place wind turbines, controversy seems to follow.
yes, it does seem to be the case that wherever wind turbines are proposed controversy follows. Ask yourself - why is this? My answer is that it's the new popular national hysterical pastime. What do you think?
Fossil fuels suck ass and only pollute our planet and profit all the rich cocksuckers.

1. You are incorrect. We've had the warmest 10 years for a century since 1997. Go look at the figures.
2. man made climate change is a reality - again, go and look at the science. Scientists are all saying the same thing - its man made.
