  • Un-freakin believable! That's approximately 6 plates on each side. 96% of the world can't even bench press that weight even once. This guy just put 12 plates over his head!!!

  • No steroid can make pitbull out of chiwawa

  • TARZAN!!!!!!

  • wow look at his flexibility as he catches the jerk. his butt is nearly touching the ground.

To the guys who say he is not strong:

Olympic lifting is not a pure strength exercise but just a well an exercise of skill, speed and flexibility. You are not pressing that weight up but basically throwing it up to throw yourself under the weight. that's a very different requirement on explosiveness then just squatting 580 (which is still impressive)

  • @dominikkeul taranenko did 380kg back squat ass to grass with a 3 second pause at bottom. i call that pure strength

  • @dominikkeul taranenko did 380kg back squat ass to grass with a 3 second pause at bottom. i call that pure strength

  • In Fact, this weight lifter isnt stronger than the WOrld Top Bodybuilders, so i dont know why everyone says: "wooah, very strong!"

  • @HunFighter100 You should train a bit before commenting anything at all. Get a grip.

  • @HunFighter100 bodybuilders only lift during training to get big muscles basically beach fluff they dont actually lift anything during competition they just pose this is far more weight than any bodybuilder today will ever put up

  • @HunFighter100 ну ты и долбоеб

  • @Psf2010V2

My best results were as follows:

    bench press 105 kg

    squat 120 kg

    dead lift 170 kg

These are all one time reps, however, even me can't compete with Leonid :)

  • Im not saying these powerlifters aren't fat, all Im saying is is that if they ever get ripped, they would be built.

  • 584.1 pounds. That's way more than Alexeev's 561.

  • actually, wasnt eeryone tested for steroids?

  • I know how people say like how he was using roids and all. Lets just say that no matter how much streroids you take you will never lift this weight.

  • this is how perfect CJ looks like.

  • not a big thing, no muscle, isnt normal lift. its need only techique

  • @HunFighter100

You realize this man is first lifting nearly 600 pounds off the ground, then front squatting nearly 600 pounds from a rock bottom position, then jerking and holding nearly 600 pounds above his head, right?

Technique, strength and power are all equally as important in Olympic lifting. Just as they are equally important in powerlifting. You're a dumbass.

  • fat g4y

  • @Psf2010V2 Not dissing your strength, because everyone starts somewhere, but you have been training for years? Whats your total?

  • I clean and jerk my 265.5kg sausage every morning in the shower

  • @SkInHoUnD coolstorybro.

  • @SkInHoUnD i actually jerk, then clean. it's an advanced technique.

  • holy crap look at the height the bar jumped

  • Damn u now that guy is a beast

  • Rezazadeh is the true record holder because most weightlifters pre 1990 were ON STEROIDS. It was actually legal believe it or not.

  • @rak000 you think razazadeh didn't take stuff ? are you serious man? ..

  • can someone tell me why he is recognized as lifting the greatest amount of weight ever while the present world record holder in the unlimited weight division lifted less?

  • @lotuseater6691 the weightclasses were changed so the records needed to be wiped as well. probably because they thought that everyone was on steroids back then

  • @jakebrigand Yeah the truth is the "weight class change" was just another way to say everyone was on steroids. But seriously 90% of all weightlifters were on steroids because it was 100% Legal

  • Dam doing it in FlipFlops n all.

  • Ronnie Coleman is seriesing whit this weight

  • @HunFighter100 weightlifting and bodybuilding are two different world ! ronnie coleman is a bag of steroids !

  • @DXdu26 If you think Taranenko wasn't on steroids himself, you, sir, are dreaming.

  • @HunFighter100

No, actually, he couldn't lift it even if you were to put a gun to his head. He did not train for explosive strength, and neither did he spend years perfecting his technique. And even then, he's not as strong as Andy Bolton or Ed Coan...and neither of them can clean and jerk 265 kg...as such, neither can Ronnie.

  • @HunFighter100 I know you're trolling, but can you translate "seriesing" for me?

  • Why didn't Taranenko lift at the Athens WWCs 1989? He predicted a 267.5, & 270 if needed to win. I believe him.

  • I think this guy just fuck everyone's deadlift record

  • dear lord WoW

  • Yes. 265,5 kg (1987) and 266 kg (1988) - all time records. Then: Pisarenko lift 265 kg (1984).

  • that is unbelievable

  • almost 25 years later with all the latest pharmaceutical and training equipments and knowledge advantage we have today still Taranenko's c&j and krastev's snatch record is unbroken till date russian weight lifting federation was far advanced and ahead of its period

  • @trogyal999 Except that 216.5 snatch was done by a Russian, Eugene (Evgeny?) Sypko after that 216 and I think Sypko weighed under 300 no one seems to have an image of him., Krastev is said to have done 222.5 in training and Pisarenko a 275 cj I believe both.

  • @skirts365

I have a polaroid of him where he stands next to my brother (who was a weightlifter too). He visited Germany and the club where we trained because our trainer was his trainer back in the soviet union. I never saw him in person but I have this polaroid. Lousy quality but you get an idea of him. My trainer said he has did 272 kg in training back then.

  • @DavidVanPatten Most all the top lifters have done more in training than in competition, easy to see why---they have more attempts available than in competition. Seeing how easy Reza's 263.5 seemed, and Russia's development deals with Iran, I wonder if they paid Iran for him to not lift more. Like Qatar "bought" Yani Marcochov and renamed him Jaber Saed-Salem (spelling?)

  • @skirts365

Thats true. Also its always difficult to be in top shape exactely in competition. Most of the time you peak somewhere else in the year but not necessarily when it matters most.

  • Comment removed

  • whats the current world record for clean n jerk in the heaviest class today does anyone know? and who by?

  • @91cboy 263kg by Hossein Rezezadeh, now retired.

  • @Jaswant14 Still less than Taranenko. Don't forget that Taranenko's gym lift record done in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia, 1987 was 275kg(603pounds)!!!

  • hossein rezazadeh of iran has lifted more weight. hes world record is 263 kg but in his camp he has done 267 kg. im not sure why it was not officially recorded.

  • @Pouyafarmand Taranenko's best lift done in Ostrava,Czechoslovakia in 1987 was 273kg(602 pounds)!!!

  • @m5p944 602 lb : 273.6 kg / 273 kg : 600.6 lb / I've also heard 275 kg for that day : 605 lb / Obviously any of these would be the most any man has ever lifted, by far.

  • @lazur1 In Taranenko's 1989 interview, he states that his best C&J in training was 262.5.

  • @Pouyafarmand It's not officially recorded because it's not official: No official weightlifting judges.

  • The single most impressive display of power in the history of the world.

  • he's from USR people he pumped with steroids and has hydraulic joints

  • NICEEE !!

  • My squat + my deadlift < His clean and jerk

Things like that is that make me realize how weak I am lol

  • @Feon2 Well actually your squat and deadlift isn't that bad man, don't forget that this guy has been training for years and was followed by experts

  • owwwhh....this guy is very stornger ...thanks

  • Holy fuck I can't even dead lift that

  • can't imagine his front squat it must be insane!

  • @yasinpatel12345 He has said in interviews that he can front squat 660 for a triple.so definitely yea.

  • @dietermauer...what your failing to understand is that guys like Taranenko, Rezazadeh, alexeev and the rest of the dominent Heavyweight Olympic lifters where all on juice just as the top Strongman and Powerlifters where/are as well you would have to be neaive to think anything else. With that being said there on a equal playing feild, your comparion to Formula 1 racing is poor at best. If both drives modify there cars in the same way and race its also a equal playing feild understand?

  • @LiftingHard1989 yes but it then becomes a case of who has the faster and better parts for their car, the drivers will just be scrambling for best and newest parts, you have to remember that in any professional sport, when a person relies on performance enhancers they are no longer competing with their own natural ability, thus making it unfair, regardless of how many other people in your discipline are taking enhancers aswell

  • @LiftingHard1989 I appreciate your honesty, but what you are failing to understand is that none of us are comparing these athletes to non-juiced athletes. We are comparing these athletes, as you are, to each other. As you pointed out, all of these lifters were likely juicing, so they are all playing on a level field, so to speak. Therefore, we appreciate their accomplishments in that context. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it . As long as all the athletes are allowed to juice, so be it.

  • So Pisarenko's 265 WR stood for 3 or more years, was done with greater ease, more control, and did not appear so close to a limit lift as this, by a lifter at least 40 pounds lighter and maybe 55!! Yeah, LT lifted more, but it was a fraction of 1% more and looked a whole lot harder. And they beat the drums as to how weak Pisarenko's legs allegedly were. Gee. My hints at the real supremacy of Pisarenko aside, this is a staggering feat of strength especially recovering from a pinned position.

  • @skirts365 Taranenko's weight for this meet was 305 pounds or 138.5 kilos. Pisarenko's was about 10-12 kilos less so i don't know where you get the 40-55 pounds heavier. Taranenko is just shy of 5'11 and Pisarenko was 6'3. Taranenko also totaled 10 kilos more than Pisarenko, 475 to 465.

  • @powmongo 1st time I see height claim for LT but what I saw for AP was 6'1 and a half inches, weight from 265 to 280, LT 325lbs weight of a super would vary more than weights of lighter classes as the ceiling weight isn't applicable. It was not to belittle LT but that AP's lift seems really superior his snatch seems a touch under par next to his jerk. Mang and Reding were fairly short supers again with height not part of the official rules, correctly so.

  • @skirts365 Watch the network footage of this on joonbug2006 account and his weight is mentioned at 308 pounds. I think they rounded that number. Earlier in the year when Leonid won the ussr championships he did 207.5 and 265 to beat Kurlovitch. He was a little lighter then. Leonid was still a 110kg lifter in 1985 and went up to super in 1986. In his prime 87-88 Leonid never weighed 325. Perhaps by Barcelona but not when he set his records. I met Pisarenko in 95. I'm 6'2 and he was taller than me

  • @powmongo OK it's all getting irrelevant to me somewhere I read AP was 6' 1.5" elsewhere I read LT weighed 325 I have only been to 1 lifting event it was a PL event saw Mike Cross dead lift 549 at 123 it was impressive. I also saw Bob Hoffman in Strength & Health saying Bill March weighed 198 when he military pressed the 390 BUT in fact Bill weighed 228. Any account can be wrong where human error is possible. The extra 1.5" on AP makes his lift that much more impressive to me maybe not to all

  • @powmongo taraneko started being a super at the 1985 worlds

  • And last but not least, I dont have any problems with steroids, everyone should take them if they wish.... But ONLY ! if you arent practising any professional sport where steroids are forbidden ! If you still take them, YES! you are a fucking loser.

  • @dietermauer dude just shut the fuck up. Everybody knows that people who bitch about roids on youtube videos are just jealous pencil necks.

  • @MultiTrollHunter "dude just shut the fuck up. Everybody knows that people who bitch about roids on youtube videos are just jealous pencil necks."

Pls do yourself a favor and try to use your brain, it really isnt that hard.

If you would read my comments carefully, you would realize that I'am not "bitching" about Steroids, but trying to explain to "LiftingHard1989" why Steroids is cheating and therefor illegal in many competitive sports.

  • @dietermauer Whatever pencilneck "wah wah wah steroids are cheating wah wah wah" you nerds are all the same.

  • Now some fans starts complaining about the driver beeing a cheater.

And now there is YOU !!!, who says stupid shit like:

"buahaahha this driver is soooo much better than you will ever be !!! even if you have an equally fast car !!! he is a naturally gifted driver !!!"

I hope that even an intellectually ungifted person like you, will realize how dumb your statement is.

If you need further help on logical thinking, just let me know.

    Cheers !

  • ROIDZ

  • Dosent that persian guy have the WR ?

  • @Euphoriaaaa

Rezazadeh has the WR clean and jerk, from Iran. Although Taranenko lifted more, it doesn't count as a WR anymore because the IWF shuffled the weight classes.

  • excellent!

  • Comment removed

  • 0:05 thats a hell of an impact, I was waiting for the nuts and bolts to come loose

  • DJBouncy what you and your limited intelligence fail to realize is to accomplish a freaskish feat of strengh such as this one you have to first off dedicate your entire life to the goal, train very hard and very smart which in itself takes yrs to develop and last but not least be a genetic freak of nature to say steriods alone led to this historic lift is one of the most ignorant things i have ever read.

  • @LiftingHard1989 Amen! Well said.

  • @LiftingHard1989. I know that they are born strong! It's genes! I know that they have worked hard in the gym for many, many years!

What I am saying is: They also abused and eat stereoids, and that's a shame!

I know that they are born much stronger than average joe and you and me will never lift such heavy weights no matter what, but they would not lift so heavy without stereoids!

    Do you understand my point?

  • @DJBouncey reza lifted about the same and was under one of the strictest drug testing out there because they were trying to clean up imagine in weightlifting. With great genetics and lifetime of lifting you can achieve greatness

  • @LiftingHard1989. (Sorrmy about my english) Think about this:

Some new weight lifting stars shows up. They are clean with no stereoids abuse!

Let me tell you something: They will never have a chance to set a new world record if they are clean! They can have so much strong genes and be fckin' awesome talented, but they still must use stereoids to have a chance to take a world record!

  • @LiftingHard1989. I know that these althletes are stronger than us others if they also are clean, because they are born with genes who make them stronger than average joe. They would still lift heavy weights that we other can just dream about to lift if they are clean, but when they use stereoids, they will then lift heavier weights than they would do if they was clean!

  • @LiftingHard1989. Why are stereoids forbidden? Because stereoids give you an advantage against your clean oponents!

Amongs the world class athletes, it is many times very, very little difrences!

So if one guy eat stereoids and train hard he can get a advantage, and that's not fair!

  • @LiftingHard1989 Sorry but you shoudlnt talk about intelligence, when you arent even capable of understanding why steroids equals cheating...

I just give you 1 example that I use to tell ignorant people who dont know shit about sports.

There you have 2 extremely talented Formel 1 drivers, both have equally fast cars.

1 time wins driver X, the other time driver Y wins. Now driver X gets a faster car (replace this with steroids for a weightlifter) and he starts winning all the time... cont-

  • Krastev and Taranenko is cheaters! They abusded and eat to much stereoids!

They all are cheaters! What a fuckin' shame!

Hossein Rezazadeh is also a cheater! They all are!!!!!!!!

  • @DJBouncey

    Stay natural buddy!

  • He was defently on roids! Stereoids! They are cheaters all of them!

Hossein Rezazadeh is also a fuckin' cheater! Drugs and stereoids all the way!

    What a fuckin' shame!

  • they dont give you strength they give you muscle.

  • roids huh? it takes more then roids to make a great lifter. roids arent a magic pill, trust me! i take them

  • obviously roids, but so what? They can be dangerous, but not as much as people think (and Lyle Alzeado did NOT die of roids)

  • banksta4life and practice practice practice. probably about twice as much as any the doping nfl player and on about 40 thousand dollars a year. if it were doping only there would be tens of thousands of people capable of this

  • doping doping doping

  • I dont understand why they dont faint with the bar cutting off the veins in the neck.

  • because we're tough

  • the "rack" sits on the shoulder muscles. not the neck

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for clearing that up, i've had problems with my pressing with passing out, but I dont clean and jerk.

  • @IoannisKontosIII can you do me the honor of explaining why overhead pressing causes people to pass out. I will buy you a drink

  • Comment removed

  • @fataslin Because the bar isnt resting against their neck

  • He already was the best in the world. All steroids did was help him establish an incredible record. If you say "take away the steroids then he wouldn't of been the best", you're failing to realize you'd take away steroids from EVERY lifter, thus meaning he still would of probably been the best in the world. How is steroids cheating if everyone is doing it? They have to choose to be on the level fair playing field by cheating; sorry but that's how it is.

  • @celconicuzn

um, no they don't. and not everyone wants to subject their body and their wallet to that stuff!

and there are people, like shane hammon, that could have lifted more than this fellow. the problem with shane is that he didn't start olympic lifting soon enough and never developed the guts and skill he needed for it.

he was clean. and he was most certainly stronger as far as brute strength is concerned.

  • ur an idiot... there's an olympics where everybody is on something... it's called the olympics.. this is the 21st century, athletes are robotic and jacked to their heads, build a bridge and get over it..

  • why steroids are not allowed then,

    i must ask.

  • Yeah so i cant see why Hossein Rezazadeh is named to be the world strongest cuz hes taken a lott to..

The rules did never change they just made it more difficult and now they have just adapted..

  • With regards to the 1000lb benches, they are boosted about 300lb at the top level by the bench shirts, wraps etc. Scot Mendelson had a record 715lb raw(unassisted) bench at the same time as his record shirted bench of 1015lb. Deadlift doesn't benefit as much from deadlift suits.

  • Even the natural performance-increasing technique available in other lifts, (A slight direction reverse before a lift: The often mis-defined: "prestretch"), is not do-able w/a deadlift. Thus it's the truest measure of raw strength.

  • Horray American Weightlifters!

    We lose with Honor....

  • why in 2007 did they accredit hussain rezazedah of iran with the world record of 263.5? is it different organisations? i no was olympic record but is down as worlds aswell. anyone shed any light?

  • Comment removed

  • weight classes were changed and therefore all records were annulled

  • Officials changed weight-ranges for divisions. All old records were expunged. Mostly, this is a non-issue, as old records were surpassed. In THIS case, the OLD record SHOULD STAND:1/If someone in the new, lighter range were the new division's best, he could SHARE the record, even w/a lighter lift, but Rezazadeh weighs MORE than Taranenko! 2/ If Taranenko weighed too much to qualify for the new division, I'd understand, but it's the UNLIMITED division! BUREAUCRACY DEFEATS SPORTMANSHIP.

  • shouldn't he have a spotter or ten ?

  • *Juicing is for losers.*

  • youtube fight. here we come

  • lol at akk the youtubers thinking they know how roids work/claiming they take away from the achievements

  • Roids totally did this. I mean, look at all the other roided weightlifters who C&J'd the same amount of weight!

    ....

    ....

    ....

    Oh wait....

  • so wut, I give you roids for the rest of your life and you wont be able to pick up that weight bish.

  • ...

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed fuck u guys

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed die of aids you fckin cunting mothwerfckin piece of shit cunting fucking faggot fckin cunts

  • @ExhumedANDConsumed

Nice seem some smart comments. Some ppl think just cause take roids gonna be big and strong. Not the case, there are still hard work and genetics involved.

  • @Radiacon go kill urself man, cuz living with such shit in ur head must be a misery... Thousands of ppl take "roids" and only a tiny percent of those EVER dream of going to Olympics, not even mentioning holdings WRs. You haven't got a clue of what sport is, what anabolic steroids are, and what is it like to pursue a goal and achieve it like this great athlete did. So go learn your facts, spend some time thinking, if that is still possible for you, and come back to say sorry. Shut up now.

  • ...

  • ...

  • Try to think: These guys are tested for any roids every year. They are not like bodybuilders who take roids every day

  • Comment removed

  • @dan7edan7e You are so stupid, didn't you notice that ''Radiacon'' was joking, it was sarcasm you dumbshit!!! That's why he wrote at the end ''oh wait....'' and is the second highest rated comment. Because HE'S NOT SERIOUS!!! LOLLL nice job at humiliating yourself loser

  • @BigSamFoSho oops... didnt bother reading the rest of the comment. As soon as I see "steroids" word in videos like this i go berserk =)

  • @dan7edan7e Bersek? Are you talking about roid rage?

  • @superpredatorr

no one gives a shit bout u

  • yah look at me guys!

  • epic.

  • wow....unbelievable

  • should you bench more than you clean?

  • idk if you should, but you will. If you train both... the bench press will go up faster, so you will end up benching more.

  • That's not entirely true. My clean shot up to 105kg's in a matter of months from starting to do them.

My bench press had stalled to 5x5 75kg's or something as weak as that. Currently I don't know what the sitjuation is since I'm recovering from a (non lifting related) knee injury.

  • well my uncle trained bench press for only 10 weeks over all and after that he benchpressed 170 kg, which is more then his all time top lift in clean a jerk which is 165 kg

  • While that may be true, I don't think taranenko would have ever bench pressed 265kgs

Some people are better built to pull. Think konstantinov for example. The best deadlift in the world (also used to do olympic lifting btw) and "only" bench presses around 250.

but any given guy, given that he trains both is likely to have bigger bench press than clean. Or clean and jerk at least, I agree in that.

  • look at the top standards for both. 325kg raw bench compared to this. Bench is easier to get higher numbers if you train it

  • no dude clean is a full body power movement clean should be more

  • i thought so

  • no dont be silly! if you have to move the barbell from the floor to the rack position then overhead the range of motion is longer than the entire height of the person! in bench press your lucky to move it a foot, especially in powerlifting form!

  • i agree, the core stability used and energy used makes it harder to lift more in clean and jerk, hence bench world record nearly same as deadlift world record, both over 1000pounds and snatch or c&j records nearly half

  • no way!!!

  • how is that even a question?

everyone in the olympics is on steroids, olympic lifters are on hgh and steroids year round

what a fucking joke... don't even question this shit, it's nothing to be ashamed of, it's just the way it is

  • dude dont they get tested for that junk ?

  • they do, but they use undetectable steroids or they pay the testers, or in some cases use steroids that don't stay in their body for more than a week then go off-cycle 2-3 weeks before competition

  • u are a dumb shit they can stay in your system for up to a year

  • hooooolyyyyyyyyy fuuuuuuuuck

are you getting this from some sort of educational video? dumbass

there are some steroids that can stay in your system for 3 weeks

you don't know shit you bitch ass faggot

  • dumb fuk

  • @08u235086349h08gh3 wow man do yu oly lift

  • yes

  • STFU

  • u mad?

  • Climb? Why would he want to climb? Who the hell climbs?

  • He is not a fucking monkey, retard. I see no point in you living and consuming valuable resources. Please choke yourself until you die.

  • Dude. Don't say that. It's mean, and it contradicts your name.
