I think us horse lovers should stand at the borders and shoot the drivers of the trucks, they deserve it. I am 100% against horse slaughter and hope you are as well. They did nothing to deserve this. Like if you are 100% with me on this one.

I too am super against the slaughtering of horses, but in reality, it will never be stopped and even if it is illegalized, people will still find a way to do it privately and if it did come to an end, the value of a horse would drop drastically and anyone and everyone would have horses which would lead to more abused horses and over-run rescues. So therefore, the best thing to do for the poor horses is make the conditions nicer and humane for these beautiful creatures.

ok well look at it this way then... after the animal is dead and has been put to sleep... what are you gonna do with the carcass?? bury it?? burn it?? it would cost more to transport and pick up the carcass to be taken to an incinerator at least this way, the animal is "humanely killed" and disposed of and you can use soem of hte by products like the hair, and meat for pet food. ok some of the plants might not do it properly but at least they arent rotting in a field somewhere

i work in a slaughter house, but we dont process horses, we process cattle sheep and deer, its the same process for any animal which is being used for human consumption, and if it wasnt for people like me (and the vets) then this quick easy way of killing would not exist, here in New Zealand we have the highest animal welfare standards of any country because we export 90% of our products i would advise you to STFU GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT because if you read what i said it was AFTER death not b4

of course i don't agree with the actual slaughter of the horses, and if i had the choice i would stop it but clearly that wont ever happen. So realisticly the only thing that can be done, and should be done is improving the transport and the conditions of the slaughter house, and the method in which they are killed. Some people seriously need to think about what it would be like in their shoes if anyone can think this is acceptable.
