All this animal habitat destruction,killing,deforestation just makes me believe more and more that mankind is just way too cruel,and stupid to make up someone like God!
In past months i've come to an understanding that our impact to nature is so inconsiderable and we really shouldn't worry too much about these species that die out each year. Think about it, in long perspective homo sapiens will be gone as it never existed. This is the circle of life and this is who we really are, let's face the ephemeral nature of this. I think it's quite ridiculous to keep some of those poor animals alive in zoos...

I mean they have specialised so much they can only eat one plant (not a good idea) they refuse to breed (as far as I am aware they have to be forced into it) and they make rubbish mothers, even in the wild. In past months i've come to an understanding that our impact to nature is so inconsiderable and we really shouldn't worry too much about these species that die out each year. Think about it, in long perspective homo sapiens will be gone as it never existed. This is the circle of life and this is who we really are, let's face the ephemeral nature of this. I think it's quite ridiculous to keep some of those poor animals alive in zoos...

completely ignoring anything about conservation I am pretty convinced panda want to go extinct. I mean they have specialised so much they can only eat one plant (not a good idea) they refuse to breed (as far as I am aware they have to be forced into it) and they make rubbish mothers, even in the wild. All in all they might be cute but they are pretty pathetic. Obviously if they are to die out then they should be allowed to do so naturally and not by our hands.

Maybe we just pushed them to the point of non-return. A lot of populations from species definitely "fit" in your point of view continued to decline after being pushed over that limit even when the pressure was removed, while the species continued to thrive through other populations. I think it is the case for Panda- even with these funds spent on them, they have a hard time to prove to be fit. Maybe the approach was wrong in the efforts that have been done...

Panda's are extinct partly because of themselves. It's survival of the fittest afterall in other words "adapt or die out".. and pandas can't .. so they deserve to die out. Problem is people see their cuteness as a reason to save them.. pathetic.

Bottom line, I can't believe my eyes what I see; while others want to revive lost species- Thylacinus, for instance- some go to rant against the conservation idea, especially when it is about a LIVE species that can be still saved... Cuteness is a good part of its image; what to do, letting it die out just to prove that you are objective and not influenced by such frivolous or childish views?! I think my posts are readable enough... but we really should stop here, as we will never agree.

Man, rather you don't get it. Not in their golden days Pandas weren't smarter than now... The rest of your affirmations are incorrect- how can you be sure what is the reason they are so hard to breed? And if you started to soften your words using "partly" you can go much further, until you will reach the truth- it has a good degree of importance that is a not too adaptable animal, as a narrow niche specialist, but any specialist could face the same fate sooner or later.

...lol .. YOU STILL don't get it. How can i be so sure?.. why because it's well DOCUMENTED, that pandas rarely breed, and even when they do it usually has HUMAN intervention. Meaning we "egg them on" to breeding.
A species that has to be "convinced" to breed by another ( us humans) does not deserve to live on. What it tells me is that the pandas does not have the will and/or the intellect to adapt. And because of natural selection/"survival of the fittest" .. pandas need to go.

Cuteness shouldn't factor in if pandas survive or not. Their ability ( or lack of) to adapt should be, let the pandas die out. They deserve it. Again they're dumb, and they don't fuck.

"Experts" like ChrisP and TheShitsune are surely on the wrong approach, as the last idiot it's so full of himself that his only fat neuron is found to be too noble to be put at work- that's no wonder... I'm no self-intitled "expert"- although I do have some papers proving that I went through some schooling in that field- so I don't know a shit about concrete measures about Panda.
