First clean our floors and after, control the economy. The price to pay for a world on which humans be free of the work, could be the lost of control of that world with a increasing ignorance about how works that world. In the begining robots will be good for boosting economic growth and the progress of society but nothing last forever and the model will tend to rot, to get exhausted.
Eventually, we'll have to get used to some people not working. Not everyone can do highly skilled work, and robots will soon take over numerous unskilled and low-skill jobs, including many service jobs.
We can either let the displaced people starve to death (or more likely, turn to crime), or we can provide baseline citizenship benefits that provide everyone housing, nutrition, basic medicine, and educational opportunities. Grant everyone that, and let them make the rest on their own.
@cybercobra2 If your not working then who would pay you? No one is going to pay you to exist! Do you pay other people to exist? could you pay ten million people to exist? who could?
These robots can be used also in colleges and in doctor's offices where the clerks and secretaries don't want to help you, I really can't wait for these robots to replace them. Hopefully they will be more patient and won't hang up the phones.
My doctor needs one of these. His receptionists are rude and obnoxious. Enter the machine. Needs no smoke break, doesn't cop an attitude, and is always courteous. Brilliant. :-)
I'm sure that not every company on the face of the Earth is going to buy the robot for each of its branches. This thing costs a lot because of its technology. I'm sure only the rich and major companies could afford to buy this robot and its maintenance fees. Even the creation of the robot is costly, leading to only a handful produced.
THIS simple touch screen apointment booking software BECOMES intimidating when the attatched robot face is taller than a human - MY phone is touch screen AND DOES MORE!!!! - I am NOT Impressed or AMUSED

Having Asperger's Syndrome people might assume I'd prefer a robot to a human but that thing freaks me out.

The customer has to interact with the display screen; so
why have the robot be humanoid.

Wow.... Uhm, if robots are gonna take the place of human jobs, what's gonna happen to the employment of real people?!

Newsflash, big corporations don't care about humans. Money is what it's all about. You don't have to pay robots.

The humanoid aspect is all for show. You could do all this much better without all that silly "robotic" anthropomorphic overlay.

yeah..i agree with u..

Yeah, but I bet that it would definitely not look as cool as it does now if the robot didn't have that humanoid aspect to it.
I particularly think that it looks extremely awesome and futuristic.
It's surprising how far technology has advanced.
