I realize everyone is gonna love it to pieces but I'm not quite there.

This original song is dark and powerful. I feel it's almost made for a male voice with deep dark base too it. Just like a musical or play can have a stage of powerful, tallented actors. Not every actor is meant for every role. It doesn't mean the actors lack tallent. If david gahan were to sing "wind beneath my wings" for example I would say that song doesn't fit his vocal style well...
