hi i have a question , i just download the vray and i donno how to use it ..

so my question is do i have to use the vray materials or can it be the material the normal way as bitmap ...etc ??

and how can i make gold texture and fabric .. i want it to look real :(

what do you do when you run out of sample slots? this is really bothering me.. I am just learning how to use 3dsmax but am really having trouble creating new materials without replacing other ones... please help

@gobacktorussia You can hit the X (delete material) in the material editor. It will ask if you want to delete the material from the scene, or just from that slot. Choose to delete it from just the slot, and then you can make a new material. If you need the other one back you can just use the eyedropper later.

v ray is a third party software or called plug-in!!! 3ds max is a modelling software while v -ray is the rendering software to make our model nearly real or more than real......v-ray rulz!!!!!!!!!

That is a custom made toolbar that contains a lot of my common commands. If you right click on a toolbar and hit customize you should be able to figure out how to make one of these.

what is the appropriate way to install Vray materials? I happened to download a bunch of free materials from a recommended website, but I am not sure as to how to make them appear in my material selection screen. Please help. Thanks.

hi, i might need your help in the "VRay" stuff... Currently im using 3ds max 2009, but i cannot found "VRay" from the material list... what should i do right now? is tat a plug-in?? could u reply me ASAP pls! thanks!

vray is a separate plug in which you have to buy or download. even i am using 3ds max 2009.
