I own this kit. Same set up as you apart from I have the 14inch floor too, and seriously, you need to tune it. Like alot. Its tuned too low and the 16inch sounds like shit because of it

@Noforgivensess666 They rule dude. Seep the reso heads and get like remo pinstripes or emperors on the toms and they sound great. the steel snares nice and poppy with lots of crack, and the bass sounds like a cannon when its mic'd if you tune it right.

helpful hints...get toms closer together like inch apart and eventually off bass drum on a stand. hi hats needs be not so far apart they are open to wide. tune bottom heads slightly tigher than top heads. hope i been helpful peace bro...check out lillian axe on youtube

Okay I'm not sure how to explain it but if you take your rack tom mounts and move them up, and hang your toms at barely and angle you can get them a lot closer and it'll help a lot. I doubt I made any sense there but if you can do it it'll help.

okay.. well some things... pearl hardwear is poopy.. wait til you see DW 9000 series.. its way tougher.. all your toms have major overtones too.. thats not from the cameras bad sound quality, its just your tuning.. look up bob gatzen tuning stuff on youtube.. and your snare head isnt dry, u just have your snares to tight so its choking the drum.. its a set snare not a marching snare.. make it sound like a set snare and dont try for marching. k thx bye

@metalrockman512 Sonor 507, though it has a smaller bass drum, it sounds very consistent and hardware is much better than Pearl Forum's, also the 507 brings a nice steel snare. I have played both so trust me!

Dude, I got a VBX kit but a custom one in the same colour. Have you toms close together. and also on a 45* angel. Trust me man it makes a huge difference in fills and it also saves your wrists.

Drums are drums. I play a cheap Westbury kit that I got used and it does the job (I just had to swap the snare for an awesome custom $100 chrome finished maple snare I picked up in the states, and add a couple ZBT cymbals and a new kick)

First of all.. GREAT tour of the kit. Even if you were reading right from Pearl. Regardless.. it was a great explanation and the tone in your voice was good.

I do have one suggestion. I know there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to tune drums.. but bro, you gotta take those rings OFF and learn to tune them. I have the exact same kit as you 10, 12, 14, 16, 22, but in Clear Birch. Drums are made to resonate and ring out. Not excessively.. but they are supposed to sing! :)
