  • just BE HONEST! ITS A PIECE OF SHIT AND YOUR GETTING PAID TP FLOG THIS CRAP ON TO SOME POOR NOVICE!!!! YOU AND YOUR SO CALLED MUSCIANS ARE ALL A PIECE OF SHIT

  • richie kotzen!

  • Miles Davis did not play the guitar... He played the trumpet.

  • @31v13 He was talking about MD's backup musicians. Google Robben Ford.

  • I hate basswood with a passion. Not hating on anybody playing on anything basswood, I just personally hate it as a tonewood. It may be just me, but it sounds like the guitar is made of plywood. Again, no offense. I love Fenders, but having any Tele or Strat made of basswood is just wrong.

  • Peanut Butter? 3:41

  • can anyone give me some feedback about the glen burton boss guitar, i really like the look sound and feel of the guitar, however ive only played about 5 different guitars in my life and im just curious how nice is it compared to other guitars thanks for the help :)

  • Where can buy one of these teles? I bought a Glen Burton Les Paul style from a local shop, but I don't know if he can get the tele. Where can I order one of these from?

  • you missed one of the most important rock tele player /sounds ever..Keith Richards...HERE'S WHY.

WHILE A STRAT WITH CHIME AND QWACK...A TELE WILL SPANK AND BITE

TELE'S ARE USED A LOT BY COUNTRY CATS DUE TO THE NICE BITE WHEN PLAYING ARPEGGIOS WITH A LOT OF COMPRESSION, BUT...

FOR ROCK...IT'S SIGNIFICANT USE OVER A STRAT IS...BITE AND BARK CHORD SPANKS ALA START ME UP

    SUCH AN OBVIOUS ROOKIE MISTAKE....

LOL...JUST KIDDING....KEEP UP THE GREAT REVIEWS....ON AWESOME AFFORDABLE GEAR!

  • radiohead uses tele caster

  • gotta be really honest. I bought a Glen Burton and it is terrible. I play live a lot and i am a touring musician. I loved the style and then when i got it i looked it over and realized at least six flaws. This was poorly made. The sound is just as bad and the guitar never stays in tune.

  • lol a dog went through the scene XD

  • if you re looking for a tele with great LOOKS this ones has a much nicer colour

  • anyone know how i fix frett buzz

  • you KNOW your doing something wrong when you make a tele sound muddy!

  • This guy's playing and tone are just terrible, but I'll bet the guitar is actually pretty nice. Can't they find someone decent to do these reviews?

  • this guy can't play

  • great!

  • I have GB telecaster and it's been VERY reliable. I've gigged with it.

  • I have a glen burton, smilar to a strat

I've had it for 3 years I love it. I've had an ibanez, jackson and fender squire but i my favorite is the glen burton. It's a great begining guitar.

  • lol 0:50 "We have a rosewood *BARK* fingerboard, on top of a maple neck *whimper*"

  • wow, this guy sucks on guitar! Trust me, it's not only his gear, this guy would sound bad even with a real telecaster and a super reverb.

  • i bought a cheap fifty dollar ibanez and it's left handed sister at a music store down in the city before and it sometimes i prefer it's wildness and life hidden inside more then almost any of the guitars i've owned which range from prs, les paul, artist ibanez, etc. - **** price

  • You have a nice personality.

  • I like how he doesn't say Jimmy Page as a tele player when he's wearing a Led Zeppelin shirt. :P

  • @Zofar Jimmy Page was a tele player when he was in the yardbirds, and in the beginning of Led Zeppelin. search led zeppelin dazed and confused london 1969

  • @ledzeppelin4485 I know, I said that he was. I was just saying it's surprising that he doesn't mention Jimmy Page as a telecaster player when he's wearing a shirt with Led Zeppelin on it. It should be common knowledge to any Zeppelin fan.

  • @Zofar, wats up man, yeah I agree with you. How much does he really know about guitars and why does he have to wear that stupid hat in every video... also if you turn the volume off his exaggerated mouth movement is hilarious...

  • @cruzinbluzin67 Two hats,my friend. Like in "Billy Two Hats". If you look really closely he's wearing a baseball hat underneath the stocking cap. The stocking hat is either a Rasta Skin, if he's a Rastafarian (it's the pot smoker's religion) or it's the "Bey" cap as in "Allah-Bey" (it's a Muslim thing).

  • @Zofar thats cause jimmy page has spent nearly all his carear playing gibson les pauls.

and is far more recognisable as a gibson les paul player.

though he played telecasters and danelectros as well.

opposite way round for say eric clapton he was a gibson player till he left cream know hes exclusively associated with stratocasters.

mike stern, john 5, glen burton, fransis rossi, rick parfitt, albert collins, johnny greenwood, keith richards are names better associated with the telecaster guitar

  • nice chords man!

  • true telecaster = fender telecaster

  • nice guitar! i want it. i have a hallow body glen burton memphis jazz style guitar. i wana sell it and get a decent solid body around 200 or under. anny suguestions any1???

  • So, Jon, the main things I've gathered from this and watching a few of your videos is that you have good skills, have an ego about it, are an electrical engineer, and compensate for the fact that you never got out of the basement with guitar by decrying anyone with a modicum of fame as someone who was just in the right place. I can understand why, not a lot of people make it into music. But going around and claiming to be some sort of guitar god like this on youtube is childish and stupid.

  • Joe Strummer played a tele

  • they should have got danny gatton to demo this guitar instead of this guy

  • Mine just arrived today and I'm lovin it!

  • What about the boss?

  • 4:53 THE DOG ;D Hahaha

  • did miles davis play gutiar? i thought he plays tp and p... :-O

  • you forget to mention Danny Gatton.

seriously he's a great tele player

  • Anyone know the chords from 2:08 - 2:35??

    - Will, could U do a quick lesson on that please ? be great THX

  • Just bought one! Can't wait for it to get here! Thanks Big Willie Two fists Mcggee

  • he looks like jimi hendrix ! ha

  • hey they got a dog in there lol... i didn't know they got one

  • Wasn't Miles Davis a trumpetist?!

or did he play guitar too?

  • this guy's awesome

  • i have the same guitar but in black

  • ha, he talks funny hehe

  • Jefferrey1: I suppose you are better? How many informational/instructional videos have you done? What are you credentials? Why don't you log off and go outside to play for a change? Or better yet how about raking those leaves like your mom told you to?

  • *LOL* Too funny!

  • dude ur not a very good guitar player either..

  • i hate to talk smack, but i took a quick look at your vids and you're not really that great. you're much worse than this guy.

  • bah those are old... then again I haven't been playing to much lately cause I've had my amp in the shop for like two to three months. Just when I was getting decent my amp blew the entire power section.

and I actually went with a squier affinity cause I'm gonna put some better parts into it, and it's made of alder instead which is what they make the fender version out of so I think it's worth upgrading.

  • When I get my amp back it's definitly going to be practice practice practice even if I just start again by relearning simpler songs.

  • that's alright man. we're all on different skill levels, i know i'm definitely not the best guitarist in the world either lol.

  • I know what ya mean I don't aim to be the best but I aim to be better than the worst, I kinda make up for my general lack of practice lately by learning how the thing is put together so I can do my own electronics in my guitars.

  • take it easy man your not quite one to talk

  • what people don't realize is off-brand fenders, gibsons, ibanez's like these are actually really high-quality. people think that if they haven't heard of the brand before and the price is really low, it'll be crap, but that's totally not true!

  • I know what you mean on that one man. I usually buy the low end guitars from big companies or the even more budget priced from the off brands and I've never once had a quality issue.

Sure I've had pots start to crackle after a few years but when I first get ahold of one it works perfect.

Not to mention the one in this vid kinda sounds like my squier Tele.

  • yeah man squier is pretty top-notch if you know what to look for. when i play my classic vibe squier j-bass, i almost forget that it's not a real fender.

  • @EuphoriaMusicSession I guess that's because you don't have brand guitars.

  • @ShiftingStampy not true. i own a 2005 MIM Fender Telecaster and an Ibanez acoustic. i know what they sound and feel like.

  • @EuphoriaMusicSession Well i haven't had luck so far with cheap non brand guitars.

  • @ShiftingStampy well it's all a matter of opinion, so if brand name guitars are down your alley and that's what you like to play, then yeah by all means keep playing them. i think they're great too.

  • i hate sugar maple

  • hancock lol xD

  • Nice demo, Will Billy Keep doing those demo's.. 5 stars.

  • nice dog :)

  • I think Jimmy's thing was that he almost always used Les Pauls live because they're so versatile, but he used a whole spectrum of guitars recording, including one tele that he used on a lot of stuff, most noteable the Stairway to Heaven solo.

  • such a beautiful guitar, i would call it a 'teletratocaster' cause of the headstock and the neck... LOL

  • you also for Keith Richard !!!!!

  • Im not feelin the headstock shape

  • Talks about guitars turn me on! I love guitars... this one has a nice and worm sound just like this guy says...

  • Schecter PT looks the same as this kinda.

  • i dont like the sound of it

  • just about every neck is maple............it disgusts me.

  • every neck?? not quite.

  • you forgot... Jimmy Page plays a tele *among other guitars*

  • yeah, but Jimmy's main guitars were Les Pauls... thats prob why he wasnt mentioned along with millions of outher players

  • Jimmy did a ton of recording with tele's, more than a lot of people realize... Even if most people picture him with an LP

  • @all of the people who replied to my comment- what i meant was that i dont like telecasters because i prefer to play hard rock and metal with lots of distortion. and i dont like the way telecasters sound. strats to me sound better

  • Hard rock on a Tele. Check out John 5. Now with Rob Zombie, before with Marilyn Manson.

  • @216trixie Yea and jim root from slipknot

  • nice deep purplish tone in there. Teles are such a sick playing and sounding guitar

  • hahaha, sally the dog walked in the background :P

  • it's very cool!!! great color!

  • like the random dog at 4:50 nice touch

  • '' Buttaaaaaaaaaaa ''

  • Ive been playing for awhile but I still can never tell the difference between my pick-ups when I change...I mean theres a little but...lol

  • well what guitar do you have?

  • It's something that you develop over time.. It's like when you tune you're guitar by ear, at first you can't begin to guess what's in tune and what's not hence the use of a tuner (Not condoning)

But eventually you will be able to tune by ear.. the perfection of the musical eat depends on the musician.

The same is with pickups, after a while you will begin to notice the difference in tone, sustain etc

  • thanks man

  • i hate telecasters...i prefer stratocasters

  • they both kickass

  • im like the opposite lol i hate strats and luv teles but im a les paul man myself

  • I don't hate them, tho I prefer stratocasters too.

  • Wow! That is pretty shitty muddy distortion! I agree its MUCH better to play it cleaner!

  • what up my brotha! i always watch your vids but i never say anything so, HERE YA GO.

  • beanie and a backwards hat on?

    double the fun

  • 4:14 uh... that's not overdrive. that's fuzz. haha.

  • Teles sound shit distorted, keep it twangy and clean. Will never own one, just not my style.

  • you obviously haven't listen to much music have you? Teles can sound amazing distorted. Just maybe not with heavy metal dist like will-billy uses.

  • Just an opinion BJ, like what you want. I've heard plenty thanks and I'm aware this is just a cheapo.

  • never been a fan of this guy's distortion tone, why does he think it sounds good, it sounds like my first shit behringer amp...

  • @senojnomis I juste totally agree

  • @senojnomis Yeah, he's a good guitarist, but his amp makes it sound like he's playing his guitar backwards.

  • @aarongtr180

    lmao! so true.

  • @senojnomis man just because it sounds shit in your ears it dose not sound shit in others

  • @vvdavidvv i know it's a matter of opinion but there are certain distorted/overdriven tones that are discernable as 'boutique' or just of high quality, and this isn't of that standard, i wouldn't usually mind, if i was just watching a kid play a song, but when someone's trying to teach you something with poor tone it's just uninspiring and not very enjoyable. wouldn't you rather look up to a teachers tone? part of learning is technique, and part is learning how to form good tone.

  • @senojnomis good point

  • @vvdavidvv i guess my comment was a little provocative in the first place, i don't want to start any fights, thanks man

  • Great sounding ax at an unbelievable price. During the whole video I kept guessing to myself what the price would be, and i kept thinking $300+. Your best vid so far, Two Fists!

  • sounds great clean

  • this guy is the coolest guy on nextlevelguitar.

  • agreed

  • I agree...charisma goes a long way

  • 5:30 a dog!!! lmao

  • J5 has a hb in the neck

  • lots of internet tough guys/guitar heros/PA gods here today....

listen zed, military and jondeth, stop arguing on youtube and go to a proper forum you guys are so depressing ...

    btw JOHN FRUSCIANTE FTW!!

  • you forgot Roy Buchanon dude lol nice video man thinking of buying a cheap telecaster soon i will check this 1 out :D

  • You're terrible.

  • well iam a scientist for nasa and IBM and iam clearly clevererer than all of you, and ive been playing for 75 years and my willys the biggest in the world.............!!!!

thats wot you sound like to me guys!

  • i think u guys shud feel music instead of engineering whatever...

sounds good!0 then its GOOD! lol

people try so hard to change other s opinion ... like anyone gonna say to you..

    OKEY YOU RE RIGHT! SORRY!

    lol

  • 2 fists is the best

  • I'm impressed by the sound quality.

A lot of arguments here on the board but it's always those that don't risk the purchase that trash the quality.

Generally these cheap guitars are a professional quality but ENTRY level. There will sometimes be minor imperfections or not but some will of course be full on beaters. Of all my cheapos, only a couple have been beater guitars, the rest as good as any instrument costing 5 times what I paid

Give me a thousand $ Jackson and I'm still gonna mod it!

  • Completely agree

And any imperfections can easily and cheaply be fixed.

DIY if you know how too, Or give the music shop nearest around £35-40 ($60-80) too do it for you!

  • Wow that price is unbeatable!

  • Alot of people argue about the guitar, the amps, pedals..etc....

It doesn't matter. It all depends on the person playing the instrument.

  • very true

  • thats 75% true, a large part still is played by the equipment.

Valve Amps > solid state for instance (theres like next to no argument in that)

  • Jim Root too

  • he seems to have very low IQ. (Inbred much?)

  • great video, cool price for the guitar

  • god, that dog just disapired!!!!!!!!

btw I really don't like that guitar sound or tone

  • +1 for john 5. know else can go from playing with Marilyn Manson, to a country band to rob zombie.

  • nice shirt

  • that is a sweet guitar, i love tels, i use to have a fender 50th ann. it was black with pearl binding and pick guard.

  • Basswood gives a very hollow, bassy and bright tone due to being a very open grain wood. It crumbles like graham crackers when you machine it.

Big issue with cheap guitars is generally the necks are WAY to thick and need sanded to reduce their size by up to 50% then resealed. Usually after that you'll find 1 or 2 things you dislike about them overtime but, still costs 1/5 the price you pay for a sticker brand of the same quality.

  • This has got to be one of the dumbest comments about guitars ever.

Reducing a guitars neck by 50% will totally fuck it up. At best you will affect it's tone for the worse and at worst totally ruin it because it will be weakened or you could even go through into the truss rod cavity.

No matter what manufacturers say, they use basswood because it provides a reasonable tone, is relatively inexpensive and is easily machined, tool sharpening costs are reduced. This is why basswood dents so easily.

  • You're a moron and you know nothing.

I own over 40 guitars , design and build my own circuits, have built pickups etc.

You jack yourself off by spending money and taking pride in a product you had nothing to do with. You're brainwashed by brand name loyalty.

  • Comment removed

  • And I've used a caliper to measure the mass I've removed from the necks of cheap guitars, I've literally removed HALF the thickness, excluding the fingerboard mass ya dumbshit.

I'm well aware of why basswood is used.

Why are you lecturing someone you don't know?

You're twice my age and less than HALF the guitarist and technician I am. Show me the circuits you've designed or for that matter, INVENTED. I invented an analog synth circuit base on the basic multiplier circuit, nothing more.

  • I'm giving you a hard time because this was your first comment to me you made on this video.

    'lmao

Dude a quality pair of pickups can be had for 20-30 bucks if you have half a brain.''

You started the beef but I love owning little shits like you who think they know it all but know fuck all.

I've got 25 years experience as a guitarist and as an electronics engineer so bring it on.

So far all I have seen is you talking out of your arse.

  • Nobody cares about what you have invented. I am a hold a degree in history and have come up with 4 theories that I have proven. I published all four. I don't pretend to know more than any other historian just because I have published theories and they have not.

Get off your "invention" and "half your age" high horse and realize that these things don't make you any smarter or better than anyone else.

  • You are a hold degree?

You can't even form the sentence in a logical fashion but claim to not only be a college graduate but to have proven theories as facts meaning you have credentials I can easily validate through online research.

If you're going to tell a lie nick, do so in a fashion that isn't so ridiculous and ignorant.

If I'm so incredibly wrong about everything, why does this guitar sound so good and why is Will-Billy praising it?

    Morons

  • My first language is german, ass. It isn't easy to write in english. I will have my wife check this one for you though.

Dave Navarro can make a Hello Kitty guitar sound good on stage. If Will can make this guitar sound okay, that just means that he plays well enough to do so.

A cheap pickup will not get you good tone. This guitar doesn't sound "so good." It sounds muddy in the neck, and is scratchy in the bridge. A real telecaster or vintage telecaster sounds much better than this does.

  • Either way, it is obvious that you are still a child in mind who has some growing up to do. You will eventually learn that you don't know everything about everything. I am done youtubing with you. You will never learn, and never admit fault.

  • I agree with pretty much everything Zed has said, and nothing Jon has said. If you shave the neck like that, not only will it ruin the sound of the guitar, but also the feel of a guitar. It would be like playing a childrens instrument.

I have been playing guitar for about 10 years now, and although I may not be as "experienced," but am experienced enough to know that you will only make the sound worse by putting $20 pickups in a guitar and shaving the neck down.

  • You're a brainless loser and liar.

Whether you shave the neck down to a more comfortable size when it's built or a year after, it's of no relevance. A lot of cheap guitars have excessively thick necks.

    Pickups cost nothing.

Only an inbred, brainwashed hick fuck spends 200 bucks on a pair of EMG's or Duncans. You can get the same performance and quality from a boutique brand. I've owned literally hundreds of pickups from all the big names an unknowns as well.

You know nothing and brag it!

  • People like you are the ones who are brainless. So far you have claimed that everyone on this comment reel knows nothing, yet you are the one who seems to have an answer for everything. I wonder if it is possible you know alot less than you think you do. People who have an answer for everything are usually wrong. Just my experience.

  • Comment removed

  • So Dave Navarro, John Frusciante, Marty Friedman, Adrian Smith, Zakk Wylde, John Mayer, Joe Satriani, David Bowie...

I am sure you are better than all of them. You must make millions for some amazing band or something like that. Hopefully it isn't the one on your myspace page.

  • You're naming some average to mediocre guitarists with some great ones THEN, equating their financial success to their talent as both a guitarist AND a musician

Most famous and successful guitarists are better MUSICIANS than guitarists for starters. They also had the management and financial backing as well as living in the right location, typically Southern California

This is your ignorance not mine. You can lie about my playing and knowledge but it exceeds the list you just gave and yours

  • this guy isnt the best guitar player imo

  • southern KALIPHONA, amazing man, thanx

  • lol wered the dog go at 4:50? it walks behind him and it just disapears

  • Shitty ass tone when he uses overdrive. Id change the pickups right away

  • Replacing pick-ups on a guitar that costs $149.99 (£91) would be a bad idea as a decent pair of pick-ups would prolly cost more than the guitar.

You may as well spend more money on a better guitar in the first place.

For the price of the guitar those pick-ups sound very good to my ears.

  • lmao

Dude a quality pair of pickups can be had for 20-30 bucks if you have half a brain. It's called a boutique brand such as TOG, Artect, etc. -they're made in the exact same factories as your precious "legend" brands and of the same quality.

You're talking 2-3 dollar build cost and a mark up of 5000% because you get charged for the BRAND name slapped on them.

  • It's like that with clothing, however with guitars there actually is a difference, sure it's buiseness so theres alot of money involved but there is actually a difference in quility wether you buy a starter pack and a 10.000 dollar telecaster or les paul there is an obvious difference =) same with starter pack and ~800 dollar guitars

  • I own over 40 guitars. Some major name brand, some popular offbrand, some are "stock" brands.

Overall, the quality varies regardless of the label or price tag. Of all the budget brands, Rondo Music sells the best. Buy a Fender strat for 1200, they have the same quality for 200.

Ultimately you're paying mostly for a label and collector value, not rare superb quality.

Fact is, all guitars are built by CNC robots, not people. The woods are always instrument grade so labels mean little.

  • I looked at the TOG website and they say that their own brand pick-ups (costing $20 to $30 a pair) ''sound just as good as pick-ups costing 3 times as much''.

If that was the case why do they sell Seymour Duncan, Bill Lawrence pick-ups etc.

As a guitarist and an electronic engineer for over 25 years who has customised the electronics in dozens of guitars over the years I can tell you from 1st hand experience that $20 to $30 pick-ups will sound no better than the ones already in that guitar.

  • TOG has great pickups.

You don't know shit about anything chump.

I've built pickups, modified name brand pickups. They're all built in the same factories in Asia.

The Duncan you pay 100 dollars for will be built for a boutique brand like TOG, be the EXACT same pickup but sell for 1/5 the price because the REPUTATION doesn't have the legend behind it that Duncan does.

Meanwhile it's the exact same pickup you jackass.

Your playing is also a joke compared to mine now STFU

  • calm down man, its all opinions. i see your point but dont get so worked up about it all...

  • How bout you kiss my ass and stop protecting your boyfriend, I didn't start the fight.

I've owned more guitars, pickups, amps, pedals etc. than most guitarists twice my age. Build gear, repair, restore, design circuits, mod amps etc.etc.

I actually know something beyond the pride taken in money spent by most hobby guitarists which the big mouthed dictators always are.

    Pickups are a sellers market.

They cost nothing to produce but get someone famous to endorse you, 5000% mark up!

  • You have serious delusions of grandeur.

I've been on your you tube channel and your my space to confirm this.

I find you hilarious and have lmfao, thank you for the comedy. XD
