Since we are seeing the sorts of comments on Vigilitanism. The fact we can get behind the Dexter character is because he may be a sociopath, he may be a killer but he is also right in that these people deserve to find justice which can come from no other source. The reason is we as viewers are Omniscient (all knowning) so we can justify his acts without question. In reality, its nearly impossible to have that kind of certainty, which is why we can't abide vigilantism as a society.

She was the one who kept Dexter sane. She gave Dexter hope and purpose and her death in my view destroys everything he cared about and all progress he's made to be normal. Very sad. I'll give it to the writers for knowing which character death would tug at the audience's heart strings the most.

John Lithgow has always scared me, great actor! they must have chosen him for this, due to the role he played in Raising Cain a Brian De Palma film from 1992. So this is not new to him going to those dark places. i have longed to see more of him since 3rd rock which also made me see another side to him. He was the icing on the cake for season 4 such a great guy good chemistry too.
lithgow says don't let the crisis go away...let it have a huge impact. the sad thing is that apart from the first two episodes of season 5, rita's death not having the huge impact i thought it would...it's as if dexter just forgot everything and is now focusing on lumen/the murderape group
@NasaCortis he didnt forget about rita...when he killed boyd(i think in the 4th episode) he told him that he wanted his wife back...and he felt dizzy when he got close to the bath tub in episode 6 and he said he couldnt get revenge for rita's death so hes going to help lumen get hers..so they still are mentioning rita here and there
john lightgow is a totally different person in real life, than in the series. the difference during interviews are huge, sames goes for all the other actors
but when michael is interviewed, it feels like its still dexter! so strange, he fits the role perfectly. my secret dream is that michael C. hall is actually a serial killer in real life :D

I honestly think this will give lithgow a bit more credibitily as a serious actor. Not the comic flop he was perceived as during the 3rd rock era. So all in all I think season 4 did a lot of great things.
I was disappointed when rita died. I admit it makes for an incredibly interesting aftermath and I can't wait to see what happens, but It seems that with rita gone there isn't going to be any kind of normalcy for Dexter anymore. The yin is missing from the show leaving only the yang. What's gonna replace that yin??
Also, rita didn't even get to have her hot relaxing honeymoon with Dex! :(

1)Trinity discovered that 'Kyle' was Dexter & warned him to keep away.
2)Dexter did not keep away & got himself into a shit ton of trouble before finally killing Trinity/Arthur.
3)At some point in time, Trinity killed Rita just before being killed by Dexter so yes, Trinity knew who Rita was :)

I'm gonna miss the presence of Rita on the show. She always felt like home. It was comforting to know Dexter had some semblance of normalcy in his life. Wife and kids and baby. Now he has no one to love . . . . . and the baby to worry over. =( I hope he gets through alright. S5's gonna be a real crazy ride. O_O

i only read the first 2 (there's 3 i think). yep, his bro gets away, he doesn't return in the 2. book. i'm pretty sure deb is awake while dexter is talking to him, so she finds out about him too. maybe that'll be the next big shocker?

I honestly think this will give lithgow a bit more credibitily as a serious actor. Not the comic flop he was perceived as during the 3rd rock era. So all in all I think season 4 did a lot of great things.

I was disappointed when rita died. I admit it makes for an incredibly interesting aftermath and I can't wait to see what happens, but It seems that with rita gone there isn't going to be any kind of normalcy for Dexter anymore. The yin is missing from the show leaving only the yang. What's gonna replace that yin??
Also, rita didn't even get to have her hot relaxing honeymoon with Dex! :(

WOW! the darkest, most brillant, shocking, sad and breath-taking ending I have EVER seen!! And I thought the ending to Inception was good lol. This tops them all!! HANDS DOWN! This season of Dexter was the best! The Trinity killer was the CREEPIEST killer they have had on the show-He made Dexter look like a rookie...but poor Rita! I was heartbroken by her death but at the same time-what a JUICY ENDING!!!!! I want more Dexter! lol
