  • this is what happened to my sister a few days ago i just wish she had watched this video beofe it happened! she was okay, she just didnt manage to do this!

  • I laugh cos meanwhile I know folks who seriously consider themselves trainers cos they mimic the step one, step two, step three, step four tap, tap, tap wiggle your leadrope wiggle your leadrope formula of certain rockstar clinicians (you know who I am refering too). Reallly? Welcome to the Jungle baby! hahaha Thank God for youre real Paul. It's so scary these days what passes for training.

  • Just had that happen, time slowed down when I noticed the onset of the rear. Loosened rein, leaned forward and grabbed mane, and pushed off in the opposite direction of the flip. Strange how time slows down in a life-and-death situation.....very strange.

  • @ronphlf yes, bit of a matrix thing happening when the chips are down..seconds feel like minutes..

  • looks like the trashed my music again..lol

  • OMG!! Thats good to know.. My horse reared and it almost did that... I wonder if the horse gets hurt... i hope it doesnt

  • Brillient! I could do with you for my horse, but how do you stop it rearing?

  • Great job!

  • Hi, is this why you work with your horses without stirrups? So you don't get caught? Could you give me a detailed this on what exactly tap is and what does it do? Does TAP stand for something? I know you lay the horses down. Is that so they can regain composure? I'd love it if you'd reply. You work is great.

  • @sylvesmiller Hi, it's the theme from the "Kill Bill" movie..

  • Brilliant, i looked this up after my horse started rearing in training today, first day on long reining and i think a mixture of fear and possible mouth pain, he did almost come over at one point, will be consulting a pro to break him, not my cup of tea being squeshed

  • DAMN that was epic.

Takes one helluva experienced rider to know when a rear hits the point of no return and react quickly. You are the real deal, my friend!

  • This exercise I was allowed to exercise on the last weekend and my Horsemanship-Trainer, Uwe Weinzierl (he has some Videos here at youtube.com) sent me the video with the assumption, that I had already seen it before ;-)))

  • Wow O.o

Sadly, I dount if that ever happens to me I dount I'd have the time to think about jumping off XD I'd be crushed waaaaaay too soon.

  • my horse does this, from fear.. so its outta nowhere when she spooks..

    but im quick enough.. hahaha

  • he makes it look so simple

  • Phenomenal timing during such a quick motion. Hopefully most of us will never have to do this but the tips are certainly appreciated should it ever happen!

  • great video, happend to me today and saved my life! thanx for sharing!

  • great video , i m just out of hosital after a horse id known for 10 yeras did this to me, i ve fractured my pelvis and sacrum and just out after a month in hospital. 6- 12 months recovery :( . ive got to admit though i didnt even have time to think about getting off she did it that fast. so yes dont try this at home unless your a proffesional x

  • wow thats just amazing

  • lol i have an ex racer... always fun :)

  • HOW DID HE DO THAT?! How on earth did he do that THAT well, THAT quickly?! I want lessons! $250/hr, I kid you not! I want lessons!

  • i've got an ex racehorse that pulls this crap with me all the time. usually when he's been standing still for a few min, but also when there are strange horses around and he gets excited. it's good to see this video. so far, i've managed to not end up under him, but i have no idea how.

  • So glad he's in the fluffy sand.... :)

  • You're a legend, dude!

  • great landing. i found out that its amazing on what all goes threw your head when u are in the air or int he process of fallin off.

  • hopefully if i ever get on Cocoa and she rears i have some pointers thank you

  • Very well done. Did the horse actually have a rearing problem? He seemed relieved to stay in the down position. Or was that just the sand. I love the sand, gotta get me some..Sky is learning but still won't let me pet him when he's laying down. He would move heaven and earth to regain his feet.

  • Very well done. Did the horse actually have a rearing problem? He seemed relieved to stay in the down position, and to have to fight to get to his feet.

  • Good jump kitty - not all of us ALWAY land on our paws. JK that is a really excellent vid - good to see you about these days.

  • Thanks for the great info, hopefully won't have to use it. Keep up the good work! :)

  • Oh to be that young and limber again!!!! Go Endo! Great Vid.

  • you rock

  • love ur videos and techniques!

ur a great horseman and its a pleasure to see someone who really understands horses and loves them....keep up the good work and be safe =)

wish i had a nice sand pen like that when i was retraining horses hehe....there was many a time i had to pull a horse sideways to prevent their heads hitting the ground..all problems could be prevented by proper handling in the first place...what a shame huh...ty endo=)

  • Great video!

I'm a big fan of ur techniques and I'm glad u put out a new video:)

Reminds me of the days when I was retraining lol

It's a shame the most racing stables or breeding stables don't have someone to handle all the babies they raise to prevent future problems and injuries..

Stay safe and keep up the great work!

Plz put out some more videos:)

  • Awesome dismount!!!

  • Awesome!

  • That's actually a really great video and SO true... I've had it happen once where the horse flipped, luckily I was out the way enough to not be injured and did get back on (once I made sure the horse was o.k.)

  • Nice work Endo. You've summarize all the stuff I've read on this subject.

  • Well sure, no problem... if you're a circus rider or a ninja!! or young... I had quite a few flipper experiences during my younger years. Now just a normal dismount on a good day hurts LOL!!!

  • I always wondered what I should do, lol.. hope that means it's not happening soon, lmao

Luv da lil' ball on top of ur helmet, lol

  • When played backwards, it looks even more ninja.

  • Hehe go the silly cockroach pony! Great to see your vids again paul!

  • I love the horse's expression when you gather him up off the ground "oh hello... what just happened?"

  • You make it look so easy! Great video, having been in the situation before it's nice to see a video like this that breaks everything down into steps. A very good aid in visualizing and understanding the mechanics of what is happening and how to safely extract yourself from the danger zone.

  • Great vid Paul, stay safe my friend

  • Ya know I have got to ask...Does this horse do this on a regular basis and possibly a TAP canidate?

  • So happy to see you again. Just like old times...Had a horse years ago that would flip...had to learn the "BAIL OUT" maneuver to survive. Always scared to put my feet in the stirrups on that one. Great advice Mr. Paul and great vid. Please stay safe. Miss you!!!

  • WOW!

  • Keep in it safe in your vest and helmet! You Rock Paul! Do you have a favorite Kentucky Derby Pick?

  • very good to see you again,LOVE all your videos

  • Your videos are great and I love that you stress the fact that no one should try anything they see at home. Plus the humor added adds character. Thanks for the great videos! :)

  • Excellent clear advice as usual. I hope that it would be a rare situation but if you can help people who do come across this problem then it is worth it. If you did get straight back on would the horse do it again? Is it an evasion?

  • my trainer had to do this one time, it was hilarious. he didnt get back on quite as ninja style as you but he and the horse were all good. haha. why is the sand so deep in that round pen?

  • The 'get back on your horse' part... LOL... You still have that sense of humor. Hehehe!

Thanks for another great video Paul.

With a rearer I'd certainly set myself up to bail off if he's feeling like he's gonna FLIP all right.

Good advice to have em checked out if they do flip... they certainly can seriously hurt themselves when they pull that move.

  • thats exactly what i did!!!! lol in the mud tho.. great advice, an OH SO NICE to see u again..
