dang when I was a freshman our induction was supposed to be horrible, but it didnt effect my friends and I. They Seniors in our band got silly string, and shaving cream, and whip cream and make up and they put it on us and we had to do the hockie pockie in front of the whole school on the stage. I wasnt scared I would do it again in a heartbeat, but yeah then we had to walk around the all day at school and wear I'm a freshman signs. It was great.

The candle thing is the "nice" thing the seniors do for us in Marching Band. The REAL freshman induction happens on the last day of band camp, when we are told that we can sleep in and camp starts later in the morning than usual. Then the seniors wake the freshmen up early and make them march to Waffle House! But then it's just a big party and our big sibs treat us to breakfast. We even got Novak up there it was so much fun!
