and i thought the Zetec-S was quick! if you want build quality at the end of the day you buy a german car but don't expect speed. The saxo's are good because there literally an engine on wheels. I own a VTR I dont go round boasting about it at all I bought one purely because its cheap and cheerful. You get more for your money with build quality wise on a Zetec S but for the price you pay for one i'd take a saxo thats falling apart anyday.

I timed my run on the flat with about 1/4 tank of fuel by myself and shifting into 3rd (as second gear can do 59.5mph at the limiter) and that was 8.3 seconds bare in mind mines a well looked after one. All but standard except an induction kit which does fuck all except noise. Your Golf would be a much better allround car the only thing that the saxo would probably have better would be the handling not by much however due to lightness

I don't know how many times i bought a new stepper motor but it still kept on stopping and sounded ready to blow up so got rid of the shit. It was so embarrassing. And i don't want to even talk about the rust on the body. 1 drop of rain and the metal would peel orange. When i had a saxo never had 1 problem with the engine or body. Saxo's are great cars.

@RSTBADBOY Yeah the zetec s is much better with grandad standard door handles, grey dashboard, 1.1 basic seats, horiible tiny rev counter, rust everywhere and unreliable engine. All 90's fords had bad rust and engine problems. The vtr is way better looking and way faster car. You get nice black dash, nice black bucket seats, nice big white dials . a nice chrome gear knob, A nice metallic centre round the console. Zetec s looks no sporty than a basic fiesta from the inside or outside.
That £3,775 golf hasnt got, 18'' BBS RC's £500+, climate control £300, 6 cd autochanger £200, forge dump valve £200, AMD remap £360, Turbo pipe £213, lowered coilover suspension £500, centre armrest £50, ESP £???. and i thought the Zetec-S was quick! if you want build quality at the end of the day you buy a german car but don't expect speed. The saxo's are good because there literally an engine on wheels. I own a VTR I dont go round boasting about it at all I bought one purely because its cheap and cheerful. You get more for your money with build quality wise on a Zetec S but for the price you pay for one i'd take a saxo thats falling apart anyday.

I timed my run on the flat with about 1/4 tank of fuel by myself and shifting into 3rd (as second gear can do 59.5mph at the limiter) and that was 8.3 seconds bare in mind mines a well looked after one. All but standard except an induction kit which does fuck all except noise. Your Golf would be a much better allround car the only thing that the saxo would probably have better would be the handling not by much however due to lightness

I saw a mint condition, black RS Cosworth Escort on a K plate in Newcastle the other day, it looked great, old Saxos just look like an old car, Top Gear magazine did a compilation of bygone hot hatches a while ago and priced the Cossie at upwards of 12k!!! Fiesta rs turbo'r are old rusty crap. The only reason people turn their heads is to watch all the black smoke coming out of the shit. 1996 Saxo or 1996 Renault never had rust problems, only fords had rust, and it took them up to 2002 to sort it out. Saxo's don't need events because they're still popular on the road. I see like 20 Saxo's cruising together up the road all the time up here in Bolton. The only reason old fiesta' have events is because it's the only way to see one.

I don't know how many times i bought a new stepper motor but it still kept on stopping and sounded ready to blow up so got rid of the shit. It was so embarrassing. And i don't want to even talk about the rust on the body. 1 drop of rain and the metal would peel orange. When i had a saxo never had 1 problem with the engine or body. Saxo's are great cars.

nice vid, just bought a zetec-s but i have not drove it yet unfortunatly as i need to pass my test. Seem pretty nippy to me especially for a first car :D

@RSTBADBOY Yeah the zetec s is much better with grandad standard door handles, grey dashboard, 1.1 basic seats, horiible tiny rev counter, rust everywhere and unreliable engine. All 90's fords had bad rust and engine problems. The vtr is way better looking and way faster car. You get nice black dash, nice black bucket seats, nice big white dials . a nice chrome gear knob, A nice metallic centre round the console. Zetec s looks no sporty than a basic fiesta from the inside or outside.

That £3,775 golf hasnt got, 18'' BBS RC's £500+, climate control £300, 6 cd autochanger £200, forge dump valve £200, AMD remap £360, Turbo pipe £213, lowered coilover suspension £500, centre armrest £50, ESP £???. Its only got 3 years and 2000 miles on my car and as with saxos 3 years isnt that important, the most expensive saxo VTR is a 2000 W reg not an 03. car age doesn't work that way.

look on autotrader, there are T reg 1.8T's for £4000, £3795, £3690, £3494 and none are as good as mine.
The lowest price T reg 1.8T on autotrader is going for £1200 with 125,000 miles and horrible blue interior with no service history. the car basically on its last legs.

And the lowest price VTR is a silver 2000 (X) reg with 89,000 miles £395 if you dont believe me call the guy 07723 503925, and the highest priced VTR on autotrader is a £4000 mod-box ricer W reg with over £4000 spent on it, not an 03. There are only 2 saxos in the uk for sale that come near the price of my car, there is a 2002 Mk4 1.8T in RED on autotrader going for £7,290. big difference in class, the Golfs are higher class.

If you search autotrader and use the filters, price £3000 - £4000, GREEN, 1.7-1.9, petrol, you'll find a nice golf almost the same as mine with higher mileage (90,000), smaller wheels, less equipment going for £3,490. Now I think mine will go for a bit more because it has better mileage, FSH, 18'' BBS, climate control, more power and only 2 owners from new. Think about it.
