OMG!! My Dad had the same exact one!! We still have it but do not have a controller for it. This is a very sentimental toy and my son never got to meet his Grandpa. So we are trying to find a controller. Can you help us in any way?? We also need to get a 9.6v battery but I think we can get one at Wal-Mart! Thanks for any help you can give us!!!
@Tracelann Ebay should be a good place to find a controller. You just need to find out if the car is 27mhz or 49mhz. There will most likely be a broken tyco car or truck come up on there with a controller that will work for yours. Most of the old tyco controllers will work as long as they are the right mhz. Yeah walmart should have a 9.6v battery and charger if not ebay for that as well. Thanks for watching :)
@matt78tv Thanks so much for the info. We found out ours is a 27 mhz. I did have the controller and it was in mint condition but think it got thrown out by accident, but we will keep searching. Love your game room stuff. My son really enjoys watching your videos. If we ever get our Turbo Hopper working we will post on youtube and let you know!! Thanks again :)
I have a Tyco dagger u remember the one that had 2 fat wheels in the back and a small one in the front I can't find a battery for it it's been sitting for almost 15 years
awesome,as a kid in the late 80's, i had a turbo hopper, the penske indy car and the porsche racing car. i also had a bandit, and i cant think of the name, but i had a tyco 9.6v turbo, right after i bought the bandit, it looked like the bandit, except it was an suv, like a pathfider? do you know the name of this one?
Matt i have a question.. im in the proccess of buying one of these off of fleabay, do the spot lights unclip or are they not remoovable? this one has non unfortunatly, the guy said they snapped off, i think they spots look great i used to have them on my old hopper when i was a kid, but i cant remember if they unclip or snap off and break, when i get it i wanna put some on somehow. I noticed some of your shelf exhibits have spots, did you put them on or did they come like it? thanks bud
@mikeyd0785 Hi, the spotlights are replaceable. If they are broke off you just have to get the piece down in the square peg that is left out and then put new ones in. Most of mine came with the spotlights but some were missing 1 or 2 so I just took some off others and replaced and still don't have enough so I tried to make them as symetrical looking as possible.
Hehehe your Wooo's & laughing at yourself playing with your jet hopper made me laugh big kid just like me! i had one of these but im sure it had an offset turbo stick on the controller??? and you pushed it all the way up and accross with your thumb and second speed would kick in... does yours do this? mine had the hella spot lights on it too like yours i think it was 9.6 but not sure...
@mikeyd0785 Hi, yeah this is the pistol grip controllers and when you pull the trigger all the way another light lights up and it's turbo speed. Correct too about it being 9.6V they really are a blast to play with.
man i used to have a old Tyco Hi Jacker and back where i used to live in these apartment complexs they had speed bumps and i would launch that thing off the speed bumps... i miss those days :(
I LOVED my super turbo hopper! i also had the tyco hammer, bandit, aero hopper, fast traxx, and the hovercraft too! oh, what was the black car that when u hit the button the body would pop up and look like a lifted car? i want any of these!
Hi-Jacker. I used a hi-jacker to upgrade my old turbo hopper from xmas 89. It is much faster now and has much bigger rear tires. I left the front end original.
thats right!! i miss my old r/c cars! i got nitro and brushless electric now, but those are by far my favorite and is the reason i love them today! i want so bad to get any of those so my 7 year old can see what i used to play with!
This Brings back memories. I tore mine all to hell and back. Do miss it though. Make me wonder how a lithium battery (or any other modern pack) would do with on of those. Anyway, have fun!
thats a fast one! my hijacker was never as fast as that, neither was my fast traxx. dam i miss thoses cars. im looking to buy a flashfire now since its the only fast tyco you can buy these days
Awsome looking car, controll is great. I have a tyco subaru, I don't know why it's branded tyco cuz its shit. Tyco are ment to be good. I find that nikko are the best.
