Anybody else notice what looks like a square 'loop' of wire that runs from each tip of the A/C (wing tips, nose top, tail tip)?
Visible at about the 0:29 point in the vid (once the A/C becomes airborne).

It's a type of antenna. The U.S. and Germans used something similar to detect magnetic anomalies underwater (looking for submarines). The same technology can be used for finding mineral deposites underground.

it is all full of electronic stuff for geological survey. The equipment probably worth much more than the old DC3.
