  • Amazing. Awesome job!

  • Круто!!!

  • your missing some dead notes that complete it but other than that its good

  • Sounds awesome, but try double-thumbing, it should make it easier

  • check my u can't hold no groove cover watch?v=-Z-Bj_0tMt8

and subscribe if you enjoy ! :)

  • Great job. I know how hard you mist have worked to get it recorded. All positive here!

  • wow your so awesome got a great tone really jelous I wish I could do that

  • nice

  • fucking great :) what do you think of the 1001rb? can it get a really nice trebelly rock tone? Cos i'm looking for versitility, just a classic smooth fingerstyle tone, punchy slap tone, and a trebelly rock tone?

  • On the harmonics part, the low notes were hard to hear, but besides that.. nice job.

  • It's decent. You should really work on your right hand technique. Look at the way VLW actually plays. If you can do just that it would help a lot.

  • I'd say you got that groove down. Fantastic.

  • If you don't mind me asking what do you study any lessons or anything ?

  • the only thing better than your playing is the poster in the background

  • Awsome Job..

  • do you have tabs man?? cause this was great and i cant find any good tabs...and im not that great with my ear

  • train your ear then :P and yes, this might be almost impossible to make perfect using only ear :P

  • Congratz man !!

  • You've got my respect. Awesome.

  • Good job. Other people who put this up try playing it too fast. And they suck at the mutes :P.

    Keep up the good work.

    Instructional video plz?

  • ótimo dude.

    Congratulations.

    Brazil is here ;D

  • Pimpin

  • my respects PugzM

  • Dude... mad props ! This is one of the best renditions of this song I've seen done by someone else than the great Vic himself !! Keep up the good work

  • Just one word: Awesome.

  • very good, bravo!

  • one of the chords sounds off

  • muito bom....

  • solid groove!!!

  • wow! kudos to you for sure!!!! inspiration!

  • hey man, great playing! i've watched several times for reference since i don't have 24 fretted bass either. anyway how did you get down from 1.41? did you get it by ear? i'm studying this with victor transcribed tabs but the rhythm isn't so clear to me..how did you practice this section?

  • With great difficulty. =) It took me a long time to figure out how to get it roughly correct but I'm not doing it exactly like victor does it. The way I'm playing it is, by using my thumb to hit the bass notes and using my index and middle fingers to 'double pop' the melody line. Since this video I've learned how to do it Victors way as well though always tend to play it my way still. Victor taps the bass notes with his left and and strums the melody with his right hand. Hope this helps ;)

  • Thats awesome! I love that jam

  • nice play, dude!

  • all i can say is...... AWASOME!!!

good playing, i like ur bass, everything sounded good

    how old are you?

  • Beautiful man. I think I would have prefered the tone that you have, than Victor's in the recording.

  • its that a pink floyd poster for the album animals i see in the background?? good for you buddy, and by the way, kick ass playing

  • nice shit man, really good playing. care to break this down for us noobs?

  • Man, great playin'. I'm working on a same piece and I know how difficult it is.

  • respect !!!

  • that was hot....

  • Dude, this recording was practically flawless. I wouldn't have been able to tell the deference between the recording and your take of it. 5 stars dude and mad props.

  • Really good, man! I'm gonna try to pull it off too. Then I can record it and send it to you. I hope it comes out half as good as yours!

  • Very good man, love your equipment also, nice taste.

  • this cover is HEAPS great!! awesome job man!!

5 stars no questions asked :D

  • what cab are you using wit that head, is you bass active??? Just a few questions ;) and by the way, damn good job bro

  • Passive '75 reissue jazz. Amp details all in the description. 410SBX+ GK cab.

  • thanks bro, and once again, great job

  • really nice mate :D

if u wanna groove a little more, try to make a really groovy beat inside your head to what u are playing.

    anyway, really nice job!

  • Man, your tone is outstanding! Are those stock pickups in the bass? Any modifications at all?

Nice job on the song too. Very tight and clean!

  • Stock pickups and no modifications. :)

  • i love the sound of your bass

  • Nice! awesome video man! Congratulations for your performance and your style!

    Stay with God

    Eduardo from Brazil

  • man, i really wanted to say no YOU can hold no groove...but you did. Nice stuff.

  • Actualy thats a bass.. it sounds great.. so clear sound.. so funky sound.. thats what im talking about..

  • What make and gauge strings are you using?

    Sounds amazing btw!

  • Cheers :) I use Elixer nanowebs. Light gauge. Trying some DR Fatbeams at the moment and they sound great too.

  • Nice Schecter!

Kidding. It is a nice bass though. '75 was a great year for the jazz bass.

  • You ever held an actual 70's jazz bass? Suckers weigh a tone.

  • Don't sound better than modern stuff either, IMO.

  • I've got a '78 P/Bass, a svelt 11 pounds.

  • ugh stupid idiot

this is obviously a bc rich bass

    (lol, just kidding)

  • awsome playing man just gota get that double thumb in there and its perfect

  • hey if u dont have 24 frets u can use the harmonic on the fifth fret instead same note

  • btw great playing

  • xDDDDD

I'm not even gonna say anything. xDDD

  • Great job ! I wish i play this song like U someday.

  • god job

i recomend you make rasged the intervals and the part two the bass pattern is in taping

  • I love it...Way better than I could do

  • Dude im looking for the same thing right now. i need a how to video to learn the technique. if you find one please tell me.

  • Hey man, your bass sounds awesome! But with your technique, it is impossible to play this song. I've recently learned this song and the thing is, you have to strum with your first two fingers up and down. Also, definitely practice using a metronome at ALL times man. A metronome/drum machine could easily fix the little bit of sloppyness. Hmm I'm not sure exactly what you are doing in the middle section, but you need to strums those notes while simply tapping the bass line. Good job though.

  • To bring out the groove and make it more impressive, I suggest you use a drum track to play along with. There are times you break with time and a drum would straighten that out. Best wishes with your music..

  • ur bass sounds sweet man wot amp u usin?

  • very good job. how old are you?

  • 17 in this video

  • bro, well done man!

  • yeah men !!!! see my version of this song , its a kind of doferrent !!!!!! you rosk!!!!\\rock!!!!!

  • very nice! how long have you been playing?

  • Great play, great style. wow

  • this is awsom fella ,u got to get amazin grace on hear man and learn some sheehan for are cheesy rock band SEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • very cool nice job do you have the tabs of this song

  • nice job, man... way to put your own style into it..

  • Haha! Holy shit, dude, you're nasty. Why anyone would take the time and effort to scrutinize your performance, be it vaild or not, is beyond me.

  • you play well, but the technique is with double pluck and double thumb

  • Yea, I know that its supposed to be double thumped on the D string and I can play it the correct way. It's just when I recorded this I wasn't set out to play the song exactly right. The way I play it in this is more comfortable for me and I spose it's just me being lazy as well :)

I do a lot of double plucking especially around the end. And theres a fill somewhere in it where I do a double thumped run down the G string.

  • Great!! if you change a little bit of your thumb technique, you could get closer to real version, but sounds good congratulations!!

    David Rosas (Mexico City)

  • AWESOME

  • Very good preformance but a little odd rythm, but u have ur own style i like that=)

  • awesome man, im looking at the Boss GEB-7 equalizer, could you please give me some feedback on it?

  • The EQ is great. Adds many tonal possibilities and can also be used as a volume boost if needed. I tend to use it to boost mids and volume for solo's live.

For general playing you can get some very nice tones. Can achieve a very nice marcus miller slap tone with it.

  • if you were black then it would create the optical elusion that you were victor

  • sounds damn good

  • very clean..briliant playing..but try playing less clean like vic:)

  • FUCK! I'm gonna go buy me a GK now.I like the attack you get in your sound.

  • i like the sound you get

  • outstanding work, best regards from Chile

  • rofl :D next vid features no fan.

  • how did you learn this song?

  • Some parts I figured out and some stuff I looked at the tab for. When I did this for my AS music practical exam I bought the victor wooten book to get things a bit more accurate.

  • Howdy, I have been playing for over 28 years and just bought a Gallien-Krueger 1001RBII for 588.00 at Guitar Center (near Portland Oregon) and LOVE IT! Of all my amps over all of the years, this one sound the best....hands down.

  • It is indeed a very nice amp. The SBX cab could be better though. The LMII is supposed to be a very good amp as well.

  • Yo, man you know how to play......Very well done, sounds really smooth

  • Very nicely done.

  • your playing it right, the tone is dead on, but it sounds robotic!!! other than that 3/5 put some soul into it!

  • my boy has got tons of soul

  • this is VERY clean sounding -- awesome tone.

  • great!!

  • though not close,.. this is some hardwork.. keep it up

  • I might repost a new version of this song. I can play it better now. Figured out the middle section a bit better and this version was particularly tight. Few slip ups in places. Plus I have a new bass :)

  • wats ur new bass?

  • It's a Wood & Tronics Chronos "Klimt". Go to:

    w w w bassdirect . co . uk/bass_guitar_specialists/WandT_Stock.html

It's that exact one on top.

  • Awesome! Groooooooooooooooooooove!! :)

  • great job!. the tone is perfect

  • wow!

    great performance, man!

    congratulations!

  • i give two thumbs up. That was Hardcore awesome.

  • what type of strings do you have I love the sound

  • They are either elixirs or Optima golds. Can't really tell from the video. I've got a strong feeling they are optima gold coated strings based on the tone.

  • Ww! Br0, that was really some nice playing, clean and cool. Keep on grooving! ;)

  • hi good job, brother where can get this piece music.i want to learn.thx

  • The notation is available in the Victor wooten tab book. The Best of Victor Wooten. Do a search on amazon. Has tabs for this song and many others of his songs. :)

  • Played like a champ

  • nice one

  • I've been trying this piece for about 3 months. :(

I guess i can't hold that groove.... like you do!

    Peace

  • slap, pop, pop

  • I would say the tone is largely the bass. I'm using a Boss GEB-7 too which shapes the tone too but that is only switched on in the chorus section of the song. I find the rig (Gallien Krueger 1001rb-II through a 410 SBX) gives me a nice clean sound but adds some growl and obviously adds further EQ shaping. If i plug my Musicman in the tone is much different.

  • Great Job Kid! Now Play it behind your head while wiping your ass ;)

My self taught drumming style often raises questions too Pugz, but hey - it works right :)

  • Good job! Now play it with your thumb parallel to the strings. ;)

  • yeah...i never understood how people slapped like that. guess they don't understand how we slap the way we do. Good job, man. Excellent playing.

  • sounds great, nice job.

  • damn your an animal!!!!!

  • great job man.
