  • Are you still using these treatments? I've been getting mixed reviews. Only thing I didn't see if you rinsed w/ACV after. Having difficulty w/ low porosity and found info on using baking soda. I wanna try but I also wanted your honest opinion on it. Thanks

  • yo hair look so soft lol

  • Glad I watched you do show & do it as I had took a box in the shower and scrubed with just the backing soda!! oww & my hair felt clean but dry!! And just to add even plastic & spread margerine have one modcule differance. Not so bad with ph levels..will try the way you did it:) thx great video

  • Lol, people who are going crazzy about baking soda, lets stop and think for a moment. We use water in our hair faithfully (I would assume) and water has a pH level of 7. Baking soda, which is sodium bicarbonate has a pH of 8.4-8.5 MAX...So now lets think; you mean to tell me that from something like water that I use everyday with a pH of 7 to baking soda with a pH of 8.5 MAX one is "frying" or "killing" their hair?? :/ 1.5 difference at most is not going to make nobody's "blow up kit" haha.

  • @naturalbygolly LOL so funny and so true. LOL

  • ur pictures look gorgeous(:

  • hello thank you ilove this video ill gonna do it buy a baking soda :)

  • Some people should really do their research before commenting on videos.

Baking soda does not alter your hair texture - and if a person's hair is dry - it's because they forgot to add in their moisture.

Most naturals use baking soda in their co-washes too. Baking soda is more beneficial than using shampoo. smh - the things some people say.

  • I would never do this to my hair you should stop your hair looks extra dry

  • if you dont hav any coconut oil wat can u use as a substitution?

  • Wow! You were wearing that pink!!!

  • i love the videos....thanks for sharing! i would like to know if you still use this technique and have you tried rinsing your hair with ACV also?

  • you have beautiful bone structure. Your hair is wonderful too, it fits your facial features perfectly

  • Good job!!!

  • Never ever heard of this one-and I have trawled through a number of hair vids and web sites amazing. Thanks.

  • I hope your getting paid, from all these companies you promote.

  • I'm gonna try this TONIGHT! Thanks girl. BTW you are a beautiful woman--hair and all! I love seeing my natural sisters!!!!!

  • I love this video!!! I have locs and the struggle to get the build up out is getting on my nerves! I have MS so its difficult and anything that makes it easier is most welcomed.

    many thanks for posting this.

  • what does baking soda do for your hair? I would've never thought to use this on hair...

  • thank you for posting!! I love your vids, I watch a few every time I get on youtube lol. You are so fearless!! I did my bc just under 6 months ago and I'm still scared to play in it lol I'm terrified I'm going to ruin it or something lol. You give me the inspiration and product reviews to be ambitious and try some stuff out. thanks so much!!!

  • @12quillemall5321 humm that weird since my curl pattern didn't change

  • @PRETTYDIMPLES01 There is another youtube black hair guru who prove that baking soda is an alkanline(base,) using ph sticks that you would use to test pools. The only difference is that baking soda is not a strong alky and you don't keep it on the hair and a comb probably never touch your hair. What's up with never combing your hair?

  • @12quillemall5321 In many of her vids she combed her hair but at the roots. You should only comb your natural hair while it is conditioned, never while its wet or dry. It will break off!

  • @12quillemall5321 I think her hair is already detangled. :)

  • @PRETTYDIMPLES01 is this treatment just for natural hair? and can you comb your hair before and just after the treatment?..i really want to try it :)

  • @12quillemall5321 oh gosh. please.

  • you look sooooooo much prettier without all the make-up btw ;-)

thanks for this. I am gonna try this one.

Have you tried ACV rinse too?

  • hey prettydimples01 i have natrualculy hair and i tried this and it did make my hair softer and my curl hang looser..i loved it..ty so much

  • with your hair being colored did you have any breakage? I need to find a good conditioner for my hair, it's having a lot of breakage,

  • How often do you condition with baking soda? and how often can this method be used without drying my hair out?

  • @missjaell i have only done it twice. i don't know how often it can be done with out drying your hair. that will be something you may have to experience yourself. trial and error girl. :)

  • yeah i do this treatment once a month

  • have u ever had a perm?

  • wow....i learn sumthg new everytm i tune into youtube n i must say u have cum up with sum very creative hairstyles that r cute

  • how do u get ur hair curly like that??

  • @13212608336 Her hair is naturally curly.

  • i want to know how you did that style i love it.....thanks sooo much for these videos they will really save me the 500 bucks i waste every month after i take off this sew in i got on right now {can't wait}

  • loving those cute hair styles.

  • Yeah....I had the same results...Very Soft

  • i tried this and it started burnin the front of my head my hair was really curly before this nw its a mess all my curls are gone and my hair is just a poofy mess will this wear off and my curls come back?

  • This is really a "natural, or weaker" version of retexurizing your hair. Just like using a weak base perm, or texturizer. The baking soda is a base chemical which loosens the curl pattern. The conditioner and oil makes the solution less harsh to the hair. You should use apple cider vinegar, or lemon juice to counteract the base texturizer. The ACV / lemon juice is the neutralizer to the perm.

  • @12quillemall5321 well none of my curls were more loose after doing this process. my texture and curl pattern remained the same.

  • @PRETTYDIMPLES01 Yeah, I watched you conditioned your hair. Most processes require you to comb your hair. You did not. Even with regular hair conditioner I use a wide tooth comb to detangle and stretch the curls. You seemed afraid to use a comb. Why?

  • @12quillemall5321 well when i did my research on it, it did not mention combing your hair. no i didn't comb and i don't think it made much of a difference because i loved the results but feel free to do as you please when you make your video on condtioners

  • @PRETTYDIMPLES01 the backing soda is a alkaline which is bad for your hair it opens up cuticles and decomposes the texture of your hair it does stretch your curl pattern just not like as strong as a texturizer visit kimmytube and watch her video on on hair structure if you would like

  • @dmeen858 oh well that didn't happen to my hair

  • @PRETTYDIMPLES01 my comment wasnt meant to be rude cause i love your

channel i do almost every hair style you have on your chanel im sorry if i came off as a know it all cause im not you teach me thing

  • @dmeen858 i appreciate that. :)

  • Tried it and i loved it...

  • Hey I notice you have had many hair colors in your videos. How often do you change colors? and what brand name hair color do you advise for naturally curly hair that is not damamged, but medium thickness? Thanks

  • you know u can put plastic wrap over your warm town so that it wont weigh your head down. and your hair came out cute. i love natural hair. yall hair bounces back when you stretch it. thats the most beautiful thing and thats why im going natural myself, im transitioning i havnt had a relaxer since july 2009

  • I did this today on dry hair with twists in but I concentrated on scrubbing my scalp with it and then just coated the hair, worked it in and washed it out right away...the result was super clean but not stripped hair! Like a a baking soda co-wash. I have 2 young kids at home and had to sneak 15 minutes so I didn't have time to leave it in to "soak" because I didn't know when I would be able to wash it out LOL. Adding baking soda to my regimen is the BEST thing! My scalp is so tingly clean :-)

  • well i have a twa, should i still leave it in long??

  • Thanks for doing a video on ur condition... I had to write it down. I want to know can i use any condition with the baking soda.... Please let me know... Thanks again.

  • SexyTyTy26- yes you can use any conditioner you like

  • do you use the coconut oil out the food isle

  • i did not know that you used Soda Baking n Conditioner. I will try to do myself someday

  • Thank You !! also very good for scalp conditioning. The baking soda will help heal scalp of everything...especially if left on for an hour. A very healing mixture. AA+++ Also I rinse out with water. I then re-soak with Apple Cider and Vinegar that will nutritionalize and remineralize the hair follicles, scalp and hair to improve shine and health of hair....take away grey hairs.

  • can you use acv rinse on box dyed hair? my hair is natual but my front (handful) is dyed purple : ) will it dry out my hair?

  • ladysilk41- i never tried acv rinse so i don't know much about it

  • This works on relaxed hair. You just won't get curls. I tried it today and it made my hair really soft! I'm learning so much during my transition. My natural hair will be healthy and fabulous!

  • This looks easy enough to try out

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you soooo much. I tried it and it restored my hair. It became damaged from being a product junky - but now its back!!!

  • what does baking soda do for your hair....cause i have short but thick corse hair..and i stop gettin perms...so anything will help me out

  • Makes it softer & easy t manage.

I also use mango butter by elasta qp & bed head-moisture maniac at night ti braid my hair - afro during the day

*to grow out my hair I put in weave for 7 months - hair was then long enough to wear out. Hope this helps - enjoy being perm free...

  • does this work only for natural hair or relaxed hair too?

  • ollieboop07- i never tried it on relaxed hair but i don't see how it can hurt it

  • What's all of the in-gre-de-nts

  • where can i get some of the baking soda?

  • you can get baking soda anywhere u look for it, u can find it in the baking isle or in the laundry isle

  • @pius488 r u serious?

  • How long does the result last? (the softness lol)

  • I did this conditioner and my hair feels wonderful. Thanks

  • I hope to try this but I have sisterlocs..can it work? We shall see!!

  • I just tried it and it worked some amazing wonders. My hair was stupid soft..thanks for posting girl!!! cheers!

  • I tried it and it came out really watery. I did the ratio you said and I measured it exactly. What could have caused this? I ended up adding the rest of the baking soda(totaling 1 cup) and it was still watery.

  • 1peter3and6- your condtioner could have been watery. use a thick conditioner

  • You looked beautiful at the end!!! =)

  • your eye makeup is really pretty on the end!!

okay i know it helps with the softness but does it help alot with dry hair or is there some kind of other treatment that you do that specializes in hydration??

  • when do you shampoo hair before or after?

  • waht does this treatment do to your hair?

  • ha, i was just thinking about how i didnt have a dryer, never thought about using the microwave.

  • Can you use this on locks?

  • cute i really like it i want to try it

  • how did you do your style at the end?

  • i used baking soda and water as a rinse when no-poo'ing and to cleaning my brushes and combs never thought to use it as a condish since it has so my cleansing properties but i might try this out as a cowash...btw how do u like the tj.s nourish i've been wanted to try that as well...do u think its better as a co-wash, leave in, or dc???

  • diamondnique- i like it. but after using it in the baking soda conditioner i used it all up and don't know where to get it. lol

  • they only sell it at Trader Joe's stores it used to only on the west coast but we have a few in Chicago...

  • can u do this with relaxed hair

  • I doubt it.

  • Is it okay to use this treatment often?

  • Husband? you look 13

  • So I just finished trying out this treatment and it definitely made my new growth feel really soft, but my chemically treated hair feels really tough, lol. I'm still in my transitioning phase right now. Is it normal for the chemical treated hair to feel a little tough? I really feel like cutting off all my chemically treated hair tonight, lol, and just surprising my boyfriend with the results.

  • Totally gonna try this. Baking soda has sooo many uses! It's been my staple for facial skin care for the past three months and i love it. Can't wait to use it in other ways :-)

    -Rochelle.

  • How do you use baking soda for your skin?

  • i love how ur hair came out at the end , like do u hav texturizer in ur hair because if i jus wet my hair it well frizz badly

  • blingdogg88- no i don't have any texturizer in my hair

  • Hi how are you? So out of the deep avocado conditioner and the baking soda which gave you the best results?

  • Godsfavgirl- they give different results so hard to tell. the baking soda made it feel soft and fluffy but the avocado made it feel moisturized

  • What is the advocado conditioner?

  • pastorwright1- i have a video

  • why use a chemical conditioner if this is supposed to be natural?

  • yanab0076- well everyone is free to do with there hair as they please. when i say natural i mean nothing to alternate my curl pattern. i have color on my hair but i will not say that im not natural. so i like to try out new things as long as they do not alternate my curls. so if you feel its not natural enough for you then by all means leave it alone and try something that best suits you. :)

  • what are you refering to as chemicals? baking soda is salt and carbon. nothing man made and crazy so im confused at what youre asking her, anywho i guess you dont have you use it if you dont want to.

  • Jaykissesgirlz- lol you know somebody has to be negative about natural ladies so they feel that have to say something even if its stupid. lol

  • I did this conditioner this morning using sunsilk tlc as the conditioner. When my hair was wet it seemed ok, my curls were defined very nicely. Once my hair dried it became kind of hard. I just put some cantu and unrefined shea to try and moisturize and sealed it with coconut oil, I hope this helps. Maybe the results are effected by the type of conditioner.

  • i tried it,it made my hair soft loved it gonna keep using it.

  • mz. dimples01 i need them earrings i love them send me a pair lol

  • hi, so is this like a cleansing conditioner or a 2 in 1? cuz i used baking da to clarify, im doing the low-poo method so think i mite add this to the regimen

  • agadonk- yea i believe its like a 2 in 1. my scalp was really clean afterwards

  • ok so will this strip a perm out of ur hair if u r not natrual???

  • gobble14- no it won't. a perm is permanent so nothing will take it out unless you cut it out

  • I have a question as to how do you get your ends of your hair to stay soft? I have a big problem with my ends feeling really dry and brittle and nothing I really seem to do helps that. And also I heard you say that you did a "cold" wash what exactly do you mean by that and what are the benefits of it?

  • Do you blow dry your hair or air dry?---as in you, personally...

  • cjpsylady83- i normally style my hair wet and let it hair dry unless there is a style i want stretched out and then i'll blow dry it.

  • Prettydimples01, I have a question about the APHogee treatment. Do you have to necessarily only use it after you color your hair, or are you able to use it regularly every 6 weeks even if you do not plan to color your hair?

    Thanks for your time

  • cjpsylady83- you use it every six weeks. they just have instructions on how to use it just in case you are planing to color your hair. so every six weeks regardless

  • I tried this and I do not like the results. My hair felt soft immediately but I am on day 2 and my hair feels like coat thread. I need a serious deep condition.

  • tiashauntee- wow. well that just shows everything works differently for everyone. my hair still feels soft.

  • Gosh, your earrings are hot.

  • So, the mixture only softens your hair?

  • AfroLady352- its a good moisturizer

  • It's not good to leave it on your hair for over 2 hours, huh? I did...I think I shouldn't have.

  • AfroLady352- i don't know i didn't leave it on that long and i loved the results. so i can't really say

  • IT WORKED!!!

  • itpaystobeme- you mean you tried this conditioner and you liked the results?

  • I LOVED the results

  • I heard that you are a hair stylist. Is that true? I like talking to fellow hair stylist. I am the only hair stylist in my family. So, I try to find other to talk too.

  • remilaku- yes i am. how are you?

  • thankz!!

  • It looks realy soft love it

  • i love your earings!

  • I thought more than a tablespoon of baking soda was bad for the hair, i guess i was misinformed.

  • I love the baking soda conditioner. I've been using it for awhile and I love the way my hair feels.

  • I have also just tried this about 3 days ago and it is the best thing for me...omg...my hair was so soft, will be trying this again soon.

  • love the ear rings, I tried this and I love it! I still have a twa but it's growing fast, how long have you been natural? Just wondering!

  • ask4erica- its going on 4 years

  • how many times a month do you wash you hair? because i hate when my hair has gel in it for too long && i end up washing it like every 3-5 days. && now its dry. so can you help?

  • queenv08- i wash mine every week

  • I gotta try this. I can never get the mixture right. Thanks for the vid! : )

  • what is the condish supoose 2 help with>>?? lik wat r itz benefits besides softness????

  • tracihawkins- puts moisture back into hair that shampoos sometimes take out. seals the cuticle for it to be smoother. some strengthes the hair so it does not break from everyday combing and styling.

  • Seems like a really good natural conditioner:)

  • rmcandlelight- so good to hear from you. and yes it is a great conditioner.

  • im gonna HAVE to try this

your hait looks like it shrinks a lot, have u ever thought about flat ironing it (& of course doing a deep condtioner before hand & using plenty of heat protectant) to see just how long it is?

  • I getting ready to try this

Missbutterfly2000( from experiance in having no edges use castor oil i put about 1 to two drops of peppermint oil in the mixture too. my edges are back and thick.

  • Your hair is very nice. Thanks for the vid. I have a question for you or anyone that can answer. I am transitioning and my edges were damaged by some braids I had. Can you or anyone give me some suggestions on what I can use on my edges to get them to start growing back so I can do my big chop in the next couple of months or so. Please help.

  • Rosemary Oil.

  • Hi thanks for the review on this conditioner technique. I am still on the fence about whether to use it or not. Not sure what the best type of conditioner to use. I don't know if I am late but I have never seen the tip of using a headband/rubber band to secure a towel on the head. I will definitely do that from now on. Your hair is always cute so keep the videos coming.

  • Where did you get the Trader Joe's conditioner?

  • Most "Trader Joe's" Supermarkets have it. I haven't actually seen it any other place.

  • bnai215- don't know. shadanatual, i think is how she spells it, gave me some. she is on youtube.

  • i tryed this..it seemed to be soft at first but then..after a few hours it started to feel dry and thin (i had washed it and stuff and dryed and added my hair cream)..I donno maybe it only works 4 some people

  • Use less baking soda if you try it again. I can't use over 1/2 a cup, mostly is 1-2 tablespoons. I also don't leave in on over 15 minutes. That's just me, lol.

  • Oh kool..thanks i will try that =]

  • what conditioner did you use?.. im afraid to use mine, this girl said she tried it and her hair fell out, so im thinking maybe the conditioner she used didnt mix well with the baking soda?

  • Next time, don't use so much baking soda. To much can cause damage/brittle hair.

  • looks like it made you color pop. great review. thanks for posting.

  • pretybrowneyescutie- you know i was thinking the same thing. it probably cleaned it so you can see the acutally color. lol

  • iLOVE your videos!

  • How often are you suppose to cowash your hair. My hair seems to be extremely dry everyday. I am not sure if it is because I wet my hair every day.

  • you can cowash your hair as often as you'd like, everyday even. It moisturizes the hair and doesn't strip it.

  • I agree, do it as often as you and your hair feel the need. I love Hello Hydration!

  • u dont have to do that everyday..darn fools. do it like twice a week...but if u wanna keep ur hair moisturise during the day, just use ur leave in conditioner.

  • you can do it as often as you like..it all depends on the type of product you use or maybe you have that hard water? it could be anything, so what i would do is experiment with it..try putting a filter over your shower head or try using products that do not contain any type of wax, petroleum, sulfates, cones or alcohols in them. use a leave-in conditioner and or moisturizer everyday or whenever needed..it all depends on what your hair wants, do what works for your hair not what works for others.

  • Rakaye25- co-wash according to your hair. use leave in condtioners and try a protein treatment every two weeks. dry hair is sometimes related to lack of protein

  • that seems pretty nice. do you think you could put this conditioner in locs??

  • aboki36- i wouldn't try it

  • I really want to try this condish. I'm hearing though that some people have experienced hair loss, but not sure if this is because of what they mixed it with?? Would you say your hair is softer than conditioning with just conditioner?
