sin duda el cummins 6L es el mejor motor de su categoria pero no estaria mal hacer un cummins diesel v8 que compita a la par con powerstroke y duramax
to the ford guy every engine cummins has ever put out would kick the shit out of any powerstroke out there don't care how much you like for they still suck
The trucks are not even working pulling these "light" loads. See the tri-axle Rapter trailers that have a 24,000 GVW... and guys tow their cars attached to the back also.
@jrodthegreat1 Nah. I's remember-ed it from the skooling. Thay says to talk 'bout sumthin' as what ain't happenin' now, but happened before now, like in the past, you take the word and you puts a -ed at the end. So, if'n it's happenin' now, it's say or says, if it already done happened it's say+ed, sayed. Where'n you go fer your skoolin' dummy?
who tows 27k lol Ive done over 5k with jeep liberty trailer loaded squirley!!! 4cyl diesel pulled fine but stopping and handling scary lol, pot holes are scary
@ImDanimal85 Because it's old International engines were horse shit, and no other companies want to ruin their reputation by putting their engines in Ford trucks.
@ImDanimal85 Yeah this year being it's first year out. and until we see how they deal in the real world, let's stick with Cummins ( in the Dodge ) being the most reliable. This coming from an owner of a Duramax ( not enough power ) to a Powerstroke ( love the truck but too much down time in the shop ) to a 2007 Dodge 6.7 Cummins not had a problem and loving the mega cab.
@BanjoSpecial or really so dodge doesnt do shit, right? then the cummins made the chassis and everything else to move the truck then right im assuming?
ya but cummins still gets the job done better and with better fuel mileage cummins has been around for 92 years duramax has a long way to go before they can match cummins you cant argue with 92 years of innovation
um you apeartly know nothing dodges always pull over what dodge says they can with ease i have seen 08 dodge ram 3500 turbo cummins diesel pulling a 50 foot trailer filled with bricks and it stoped you abviously have no idea what your talking about and every body knows cummins is the best diesel engines in the buisness ask any one who knows about disel trucksi know some one who loves ford and thinks dodge sucks but he admits cummins is the best diesel angine its the most powerful and strongest
i do alot of offroading through our pastures wit all my trucks to get to other pastures and roads and to check on cattle and horse. i also have a truck i use for muddin and hunt which is also a chevy, 1500 Z71
well for starters cummins has low end torque duramax and powerstroke is all high end thats why cummins still defeats them all in pulling and for pulling wise automatic trannies suck i dont care how fancy and high tec they are i would never buy a diesel with an automatic
@cumminsdiesellover01 Duramax actually has low end torque.......good try. Ford definately has high end torque.They get up and go really quick, but when it comes to a load, cummins and duramax take off.
to all you dmax guys out there i hope you feel happy you have more power on PAPER. when u get in the real world the cummins will keep up with the dmax towing the same kind of weight. and you wont stop to top up as much either. CUMMINS FTW!!!!!!!!!!
I have always wondered how they test the towing of a truck. I have pulled way more with a dodge then it was rated with out a problem. Can someone explain it to me?
@gibsonguitarman15 lol, but they have money to get best engine than powershit in their truck. And remember, Hemi's are better engines than all other you can find on the market.
@mudthrower007 Have you already tried a dodge, a chevy and a ford ? before I bought my 09 1500 Ram, I tried the 1500 chevy , and it is the ugliest truck I tried in the 3. a Suzuki Sidekick is nicer to drive than those truck, and the engine has no power , I was trying to get in front of an 18 wheeler and it took like 20 seconds. Ford is better than chevy, but in the 3, I prefered the Dodge for it's handling, it's power, his capacity to tow and for his look.
@Challenger331 actually smartass yes ive driven all three and the chevy had the best ride, most power, best handling, and best looking. im not talking bout lil 1/2 tons right here im talking bout 3/4 tons and 1 tons and u obviouesly dont know the specs on these trucks. the 2011 chevy 2500HD and 3500HD druamax's has the most power, ft lbs of tourque, and towing compacity in their class dumbass. GODDAMN KNOW WHAT UR TALKING BOUT BEFORE OPENING UR MOUTH AND LOOKING STUPID!
@mudthrower007 dont insult people around you . I know what I'm talking about, I was talking about 1500 TRUCKS. Yes, for the ¾ and 1 tons trucks, Dmax has aBIT more, The cummins is 350 HP at 3013Rpm, and you dmax is at 365 HP and at 3200 Rpm. 15hp difference and if we get the same RPM , the difference of HP is smaller. Yes, they have a better towing capacity on PAPER, but Dodge can tow over their limit without having trouble. And where I'm living, Dmax suck because they have trouble with winter.
@Challenger331 the 1500 still look and handel better than the dodge. and more hp equals more hp not exceptions. and the dmax is easier to add power too with aftermarket parts. and trust me the towing compacity isnt just on paper ive towed nothing but over the limit with my 2010 3500HD dmax wit no problems while our 2010 3500 cummins for the ranch is in the shop at least once a fuck week and i only towed 16,000 lbs wit it. do u even know the towing compacity of the 2011 3500HD dmax's?
@mudthrower007 For handling , sorry I'll never think that chevy's better than dodge, and thats why I chosen the Dodge instead of the chevy. Chevy is hard, and not comfortable , and when I tried the one at the car dealer, I damaged something when I hit a hole so ... my choice was made. I decided to buy a Dodge because I need it for offroad, not really for towing. I dont know if you used you HD for offroading, but All my friends are switchin their chevy for Ford or Dodge ...
@mudthrower007 the dodge ram 3500 dually is the ONLY truck manufactured by the big three that can be classified as a medium duty truck. the duramax doesn't tow well because the aluminum heads in those things get hottt. sure they pull good but i've seen them get way hotter than they should. i've never had any of my dodges heat up like chevy's do. these trucks stop fine too idk where you're experience comes from but my trucks stop just fine. read up sometime =)
@jt4265 o my good kid stop commenting me bout it being a medium duty truck I DONT GIVE A FUCK call it a super dooper heavy duty truck for all i care. Chevy will beat a dodge all day in 105 degree weather towing 27k and the dodge is pullin 24k so unless u own both types of trucks dont comment on wat they can do cuz paper is paper it dont mean nothing its what it can actually do in the real world. read up on that bitch o and yea sure ur truck can stop fine so can any vehical with working brakes...
@mudthrower007 Dodge 3500 is not a medium duty truck as the guy mentioned but the Cummins engine is. The other cheesy V8 diesels are light duty engines. Also, the Cummins has 40% fewer parts then the Duramax and Powerstroke. Straight six is what you see in all highway rigs, higher torque at lower rpm's and more reliable. Being edged out in power is not worth the compromise
Please that little cummins six is just a cheesy as the P.S. or Duramax. They all make peak torque at 1600rpm and carry to 3000 rpm don't know where you get your facts from. ALSO People stop comparing that shitty little cummins to big rig six's. Only thing in common is the cylinder count. Otherwise Big rigs use 12-18L motors over twice the size damn near 1000 ci motors not 400 ci motors you guys are too funny.
Easy tiger. Obviously the dodge Cummins is pint sized in comparison to hwy rigs. But the design is the same other than mainly the cam profile and rod length. Another industry that puts a lot of hours on an engine is agriculture and they have been using the smaller Cummins 4's and 6's for decades because it works best. The bearing assembly, cranks and block are much beefier on a six. Hwy rigs NEED a long stroke because they require torque not hp. A long stroke V8 would be HUGE!
the 2011 cummins 6.7L bore/stroke 4.21x4.88=408ci weighs 1200lbs runs 17.3 compression with 25psi max making 350hp and 650lbft where as the 2011 P.S 6.7L bore/stroke 3.90x4.25=406ci weighs only 970lbs and only runs 16.2 compression with 20psi max making 400hp and 800lbft. Right here the P.S is more efficient (less compression, less rotating mass, and 5psi less boost=less heat). It holds more oil 1 etra quart. The cummins is a cast block where the P.S is using compacted graphite iron.
I live in northern illinois and 90% of the ag. trucks and city trucks here are Fords with P.S from non turbo 7.3L to the new 6.7L. The 2012 ho 6.7L cummins dodge is offering shows the straight six is suffering to keep up with emissions regulations its only going to be offered in their F450 variation and it falls short 22K (dodge) to fords (24K) with the same P.S you find in the f-250-f-450.
@The2001cobra dodge doesnt need DEF fluid.... what are you talking about they cant keep up with emmissions? they have less shit of them then the new fords do. go smell a v8 ford exhaust from a 7.3 and 6.0 and then smell a 5.9 dodge and tell me which one has less shit comeing out of it.
Dude read before posting why do you think dodge has two cummins right now because of EPA. DEF fluid is comin in the ram soon as they make the HO variation standard DEF will be with it, its already with the 4500/5500's that use the HO cummins since 2010. The V-styles burn more efficient buddy WHY do you think the world has dropped the straight sixs minus BMW. Less moving parts what two rods and two pistons thats it.
The cummins six rotating assembly or blocks have never been beefier than P.S or Allison v-8's don't know where you heard this?Especially now that the P.S and Allison are using basically a forged block and not cast iron like cumin.Cummins never had an issue like P.S did with the head bolts stretching and cummins seems to have used a better lot of turbos early on in the 6.0 years.Otherwise the late6.0's and all the7.3L P.S. stand side by side in reliability to the Cummins 12v or 24v.
Trust me in light duty trucks with the emissions coming the Cummins straight six sees the writing on the wall.Less cylinders the more fuel,compression, boost to equal a vehicle with the same or less ci but with more cylinders. The more piston power strokes you have the better the crank is gonna move unless you force more fuel and air into a smaller motor as with the cummin but then its going to have more unburnt fuel per cylinder period and emissions is going to wipe this motor out.
Don't get me wrong Im not taking away anything from the Cummins but Dodge and Cummins better start cummin up with a V style diesel for light duty vehicles or else they are gonna fall way behind ford and chevy in reliability especially with ford and chevy's future diesel plans. Why do you think Benz dropped the straight six diesel they saw the writing on the wall and went to a v style. To each is own though enjoy it while you can I love my new F-450 pulls stronger than my Kodiak did.
@The2001cobra Straight six gas engines will run forever, though. I think there;s something still to be had with a straight design, although the V is much more modern.
@The2001cobra straight 6 designe makes the most torque and theres a reason there in 80% of the big rigs are all straight 6's/ most proven designe and less moveing parts. why the hell would you pick a higher reving v8 over a 6 pot for towing?
False straight sixs don't make the most torque they where just cheaper to make hence they where used but now they are 4v's and are just as expensive to make plus they weigh about 300 more pounds. Big rigs don't have light duty emissions if they did they wouldn't and couldn't use big straight six's. Couple years from now the ram will be sporting a V-8 diesel its inevitable. You need displ. to make power and the cummins has reached its displ. limit while meeting EPA regs.
@The2001cobra inline engines make peek torque at a lower rpm then v8's do. less rpm = better effeciency and better emissions. the only reason ram has the worst fuel economy is becuase they only need to use the old regen cycle that injects diesel fuel into the exhaust. ford and chevy use def fluid. ford had a harder time geting there engines to meet emmissions then cummins did. dont tell me a 7.3 power stroke or 6.0 is better on emmisions then a 5.9 or 6.7cummins diesel.
@The2001cobra go test drive a cummins then test driive a new ford and tell me the inline motor doesnt feel as torquey as a v8 design. im done argueing with you. if v8s where so great we would of seen em where REAL diesels are put to work. 85% of them are inline motors
There's not use argueing with morons (they just don't get it) I have arseholes whom I happen to be related (unfortunately) and they rather push a Ford than drive a pickup with a real diesel. But thats them, I wonder how many 6.0L P.S you see out in the junkyard under the hood of a super duty?
40% less parts funny try only 15% less parts.V series motors from gas to diesel have always outperformed -sixes.Everyone Detroit,Cummins,Volvo,Nav,Paccar,Mack etc uses big sixes for rigs because they are cheap to produce not because they make for a more reliable motor it all has to do with saving money right now sixes are cheaper. In 10 years you'll see smaller V-8 eights and v-6's in rigs for fuel economy that will make more power with less displacement per cylinder more efficient.
Anyone can tell you if they made a 12-18L V8 diesel they would be pumping out alot more than 600hp-1800ftlbs than the 12-18L -sixes do its not cost effective yet not until the EPA slaps ristrictions on the straight sixes which will make them more costly to produce than the V series motor just like whats happened in the auto world right now. The straight six was and is a great archaic design that served well over the years its just not naturally efficient and it costs to make them.
@jt4265 its wat it can do when u actually tow something heavy. trust me if u actually knew anything bout towing u would understand what i mean cuz even the chevy 3500HD takes a good while to stop a 30k trailer at 70mph
@mudthrower007 it's going to take any rig a while to stop with 30k behind it. i've towed with a few different chevy's and i own two dodges. chevy's tow well but they get hot. this is my experience with the trucks. the dodges don't heat up near as much as the chevy's. at different times both trucks were stock and chipped and chevy's ran hotter than i would like them to. i'm not saying they are bad trucks. but the 2006, 2004, and 2007 models that i pulled with ran hotter than they should.
@jt4265 that wat i said right before u. and thats the 2004-07 compared to 2010-11 totally different and plus u didnt own them so u used them once compared to everyday so u dont know how they supposed to run and wats normal for each truck which is always different
you ford guys think powerstrokes are all that they have made a alright engine for the past 2 years and you think there all that cummins has made a unbeatable engine for dodges since 1989 you see in this video how that cummins is pulling a 25000 pound tractor and isnt even sitting down like gf ur self ford hasnt been able to make a good engine yet they change engine displacement like every year now they decided to take the same displacment as cummins..... CUMMINS WILL ALWAYS BE KING
@cumminsdiesellover01 duramax is know tied for king cuz they have the best in class HP and FT LB of tourque srry to tell and chevy also has the best transmission on the market
dodge trans = shit and the hemi sucks balls too the only good think they got is the cummins
@Airox2009 not even. maybe they might say they r on paper but my brother has the new 2011 and it sounds like it misses when its running and struggles pulling wat my 2010 dmax. it also squats more
I just bought a 2010 crew dodge 6.7L 2500 big horn....sure solid truck. Had a 28" trailer loaded with farm equipment on it this morning and it towed like it wasn't there.
@zekenc Junk Navistar engines past and present. V configuration oil burners are junk!! Ford and GM both haven't had a decent diesel and that's why both of them have been through a slew of V8's while Dodge has used the same basic Cummins engine. Get your facts straight!! V8 diesels are JUNK!!
You realize that the competitors are always increasing and beating one another in statistics as the years go by? Maybe in 2013 Dodge will come up with better technology or towing effiecency. You never know.
@zekenc if you want luxurious interior why dont you buy a nice car.....trucks are for work and I wouldn't own a ford motor if it ment buy the ford or drive a honda civic
@greatwhitetailhunter trucks are for whatever you want them to be for!! honda civic?? now what does that have to do with anything? an you'd be a fool to spend 30-50,000 (depending upon model,make,or brand) an not have a truck that's confortable,as well as looks good,an is capable of what you need it to do!!
it depend ... the 2010 3500 is at 19 000 pounds, BUT dodge always set their maximum weight lower than what they can pull. I tested it on my 09 1500 and it is true. I can tow 1100 pounds over the maximum weight capacity without any troubles or damage, the truck is still good on the road. If it follows the same way for the 3500, maybe we can tow 2000 or 2500 weight over maximum weight !
one word to describe Ford trucks: junk. I used to work on Ford Power Jokes and speak from personal experience... Cummins is 1000% more reliable, more fuel efficient, and NOTHING pulls like a Cummins.....and what were Ferd (intentionally mis-spelled) engineers/stylists thinking for the 2011!!?!?!? ugh!
@komahoby that all depends on who you ask.. ask me some time since I work for a GM dealership, alI I spend my time doing all day long is fixing unreliable over engineered GM trucks that were built for SISSYS! fuel pumps both gas and diesel, EGR problems EVAP problems, Air Bag probmems, constant CHECK ENGINE problems.. Shitcan GM trucks!! Gm builds SUCKERS TRUCKS
that its had 5 recalls, already, and was only awarded buy homos, funny how here in ontario i barely see the new ram, take your long shot, and think again, Ford is the only real winner, if everybody said ford best, your dodge would be discontinued.
no your wrong there, the Ram has had two recalls trusts me I own them and they were minor, we don't buy any new Fords, (last one was 08) but my friends 09 F150 has had 2 recalls as well.
@MPLSTORM for fucking tail lights...not malfunctioning creature comforts and big fuckin mystery the lifetime powertrain only lasted a year. why would they discontinue it? cause its a rolling heap of dogshit
@Fordman06777 October 2009 Update: Ford Recalls Another 4.5 million Vehicles Due To Fire Risk
On October 13, 2009, Ford Motor Co. expanded its largest-ever recall by about 4.5 million vehicles equipped with a faulty cruise-control switch linked to at least 550 vehicle fires nationwide, and the destruction of many homes and other properties. Ford has now recalled more than 14 million vehicles in eight separate recalls over a 10-year period because of the problem.
@Fordman06777 Important Notice on the Fire Risks in Fords
* NHTSA Issues Second Recall Notice: On September 9, 2008, the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration recalled millions of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury SUV's pickup trucks, vans and cars. This advisory was the second recall warning this year regarding what NHTSA calls a "defective cruise control switch that could lead to a fire at any time, even while the vehicle is turned off, parked and unattended.
Get over it dude. Dodge has been and ALWAYS will be number 3 of the big three. Notice how Ford and GM are always at each others throat over the number 1 spot? And all the while Dodge sits back in number 3. Dodge has terrible quality standards. They are only making a slight improvement with the 2009 Ram, But even so I'd be willing to bet those Ram's will be having issues long before the 09 F-150's. Or the 09 Silverado's for that matter. And that's coming from a Ford guy.
You just going by sales, !!!Wrong I own trucks from all three brands. Fords are the cheapest trucks, and are the most available trust me my company and I have bought many many Ford trucks, theyre the least reliable. I have Dodges with over 600K buddy you dont know shit about trucks until you own one. And Im not biased because I own Fords and GM trucks. Dodges will always be #1 because they hold up the best over the years of being beat on.
Hate to rain on your parade. But I work for a company that owns all three brands to. And our Dodges are in the shop a hell of a lot more than our other trucks. And for the record the highest mileage we ever put on one our trucks was a 1984 Ford 1-ton that had 937,256 miles on it. And Ford is a sale's leader for a reason, And no its not because they are cheaper a base model Ford is not much is any cheaper than a base model Chevy or Dodge. Ford is a sale's leader because they have...(Cont'd)
Proven themselves to the highest number of people. And think about it. Ford has been leading truck sales for over 30 years now. If there trucks were really as terrible as you act like they are, They would not have been in sale's lead for this long. Now as to were Dodge sale's maybe half a million trucks a year on average Ford sells close to double that annually. There is a reason Dodge does not sell as much as Ford. It's because they have proven to be less reliable in work situatuions
By the way the fact that the truck was 8 years old shouldn't make any difference, What matter's is that the truck was NEVER used to tow a trailer or even driven vigorously for that matter. It was a grocery go getter! And its piece of shit trans fell out at 52,000 miles. That's a low budget truck.
Hmm that's funny. Because as your company stops...Mine starts! We have been buying Fords for over 50 years now. And they just ordered 5 new fleet F-350's.
The reason they buy Dodge's. Is because they want to. Same reason we buy Fords, Because we want to. Because in our personal experience We have had good luck Ford gas and diesel. And apparently they have had better luck with Dodge's.
The real reason I was calling MPLSTORM out is because he's been hammering alot of Ford videos with pointless arguments, So I was just repaying the favor.
Correct. And that's why lots of company's have a diverse fleet of cars/trucks. Sometimes Dodge's are cheaper, Sometimes Fords are, and sometimes GM is. It depends on what incentives are going on at the time of purchase and what not. But sometimes, Take my company for example. They only buy a cretin brand. In our case, Fords. Because we have had better luck with Ford than other brands so we are willing to pay a little more due to the proven reliability.
@MercuryMorrison1 Dude seriously please just go suck Henry Ford's dick and get it over with you fucking raging homo. I drive a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with 220,000 miles on it, it has been beaten. This truck hauls a car almost daily From the San Antonio, TX car auction to Laredo, TX. This truck has been an off road vehicle and rock crawling vehicle for years, and it is sill solid as it was when new in 1997. Ford sales stats don't mean shit, but that there are a buch of idiots that buy cheap !!
@fastvwg60 The why do base Dodge's cost less than base Fords huh asshole? And you can suck my dick with that fuckin attitude. Ford is the only American automaker that has comparable quality to Asian automakers. And its so funny how you Dodge pricks cant handle it. So go fuck your mother and enjoy your piece of shit Dodge you cock sucker.

um you apeartly know nothing dodges always pull over what dodge says they can with ease i have seen 08 dodge ram 3500 turbo cummins diesel pulling a 50 foot trailer filled with bricks and it stoped you abviously have no idea what your talking about and every body knows cummins is the best diesel engines in the buisness ask any one who knows about disel trucksi know some one who loves ford and thinks dodge sucks but he admits cummins is the best diesel angine its the most powerful and strongest
drewvulture 1 year ago
@drewvulture imo nothing is better than a 12v cummins, but with the emisions garbage ive
read horror stories on 6.7 cummins that are run hard. right now ford's untested 6.7 and the new duramax look promising, allthough even more complex.

well for starters cummins has low end torque duramax and powerstroke is all high end thats why cummins still defeats them all in pulling and for pulling wise automatic trannies suck i dont care how fancy and high tec they are i would never buy a diesel with an automatic
cumminsdiesellover01 1 year ago
@cumminsdiesellover01 Duramax actually has low end torque.......good try. Ford definately has high end torque.They get up and go really quick, but when it comes to a load, cummins and duramax take off.

Dodge doesn't even have the capability to even attempt to produce their own diesel like Ford is now doing. It's a new era for the Powerstroke name.

mudthrower007 1 year ago
@mudthrower007 Have you already tried a dodge, a chevy and a ford ? before I bought my 09 1500 Ram, I tried the 1500 chevy , and it is the ugliest truck I tried in the 3. a Suzuki Sidekick is nicer to drive than those truck, and the engine has no power , I was trying to get in front of an 18 wheeler and it took like 20 seconds. Ford is better than chevy, but in the 3, I prefered the Dodge for it's handling, it's power, his capacity to tow and for his look.
Challenger331 1 year ago
@Challenger331 actually smartass yes ive driven all three and the chevy had the best ride, most power, best handling, and best looking. im not talking bout lil 1/2 tons right here im talking bout 3/4 tons and 1 tons and u obviouesly dont know the specs on these trucks. the 2011 chevy 2500HD and 3500HD druamax's has the most power, ft lbs of tourque, and towing compacity in their class dumbass. GODDAMN KNOW WHAT UR TALKING BOUT BEFORE OPENING UR MOUTH AND LOOKING STUPID!
mudthrower007 1 year ago
Challenger331 1 year ago
@Challenger331 the 1500 still look and handel better than the dodge. and more hp equals more hp not exceptions. and the dmax is easier to add power too with aftermarket parts. and trust me the towing compacity isnt just on paper ive towed nothing but over the limit with my 2010 3500HD dmax wit no problems while our 2010 3500 cummins for the ranch is in the shop at least once a fuck week and i only towed 16,000 lbs wit it. do u even know the towing compacity of the 2011 3500HD dmax's?
mudthrower007 1 year ago
@mudthrower007 For handling , sorry I'll never think that chevy's better than dodge, and thats why I chosen the Dodge instead of the chevy. Chevy is hard, and not comfortable , and when I tried the one at the car dealer, I damaged something when I hit a hole so ... my choice was made. I decided to buy a Dodge because I need it for offroad, not really for towing. I dont know if you used you HD for offroading, but All my friends are switchin their chevy for Ford or Dodge ...
Challenger331 1 year ago
@mudthrower007 yea the 2011 3500HD durmax only pulls 20,000 when the dodge ram 35,000s can pull over 30,000
drewvulture 1 year ago
@drewvulture thats on paper and plus they cant stop it. nice try though
mudthrower007 1 year ago
@mudthrower007 the dodge ram 3500 dually is the ONLY truck manufactured by the big three that can be classified as a medium duty truck. the duramax doesn't tow well because the aluminum heads in those things get hottt. sure they pull good but i've seen them get way hotter than they should. i've never had any of my dodges heat up like chevy's do. these trucks stop fine too idk where you're experience comes from but my trucks stop just fine. read up sometime =)
jt4265 1 year ago
@jt4265 o my good kid stop commenting me bout it being a medium duty truck I DONT GIVE A FUCK call it a super dooper heavy duty truck for all i care. Chevy will beat a dodge all day in 105 degree weather towing 27k and the dodge is pullin 24k so unless u own both types of trucks dont comment on wat they can do cuz paper is paper it dont mean nothing its what it can actually do in the real world. read up on that bitch o and yea sure ur truck can stop fine so can any vehical with working brakes...
mudthrower007 1 year ago
@mudthrower007 Dodge 3500 is not a medium duty truck as the guy mentioned but the Cummins engine is. The other cheesy V8 diesels are light duty engines. Also, the Cummins has 40% fewer parts then the Duramax and Powerstroke. Straight six is what you see in all highway rigs, higher torque at lower rpm's and more reliable. Being edged out in power is not worth the compromise
JOHNNYGIX 6 months ago
@JOHNNYGIX
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@The2001cobra
JOHNNYGIX 4 months ago
@JOHNNYGIX
the 2011 cummins 6.7L bore/stroke 4.21x4.88=408ci weighs 1200lbs runs 17.3 compression with 25psi max making 350hp and 650lbft where as the 2011 P.S 6.7L bore/stroke 3.90x4.25=406ci weighs only 970lbs and only runs 16.2 compression with 20psi max making 400hp and 800lbft. Right here the P.S is more efficient (less compression, less rotating mass, and 5psi less boost=less heat). It holds more oil 1 etra quart. The cummins is a cast block where the P.S is using compacted graphite iron.
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@JOHNNYGIX
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@The2001cobra dodge doesnt need DEF fluid.... what are you talking about they cant keep up with emmissions? they have less shit of them then the new fords do. go smell a v8 ford exhaust from a 7.3 and 6.0 and then smell a 5.9 dodge and tell me which one has less shit comeing out of it.
RM250D8rzr 2 months ago
@RM250D8rzr
The2001cobra 2 months ago
@JOHNNYGIX
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@JOHNNYGIX
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@JOHNNYGIX
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@The2001cobra Straight six gas engines will run forever, though. I think there;s something still to be had with a straight design, although the V is much more modern.
D13fledermause 3 months ago
@The2001cobra straight 6 designe makes the most torque and theres a reason there in 80% of the big rigs are all straight 6's/ most proven designe and less moveing parts. why the hell would you pick a higher reving v8 over a 6 pot for towing?
RM250D8rzr 2 months ago
@RM250D8rzr
The2001cobra 2 months ago
@The2001cobra inline engines make peek torque at a lower rpm then v8's do. less rpm = better effeciency and better emissions. the only reason ram has the worst fuel economy is becuase they only need to use the old regen cycle that injects diesel fuel into the exhaust. ford and chevy use def fluid. ford had a harder time geting there engines to meet emmissions then cummins did. dont tell me a 7.3 power stroke or 6.0 is better on emmisions then a 5.9 or 6.7cummins diesel.
RM250D8rzr 1 month ago
@The2001cobra go test drive a cummins then test driive a new ford and tell me the inline motor doesnt feel as torquey as a v8 design. im done argueing with you. if v8s where so great we would of seen em where REAL diesels are put to work. 85% of them are inline motors
RM250D8rzr 1 month ago
@RM250D8rzr
Skippy585 1 month ago
@JOHNNYGIX
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@JOHNNYGIX
The2001cobra 4 months ago
@jt4265 its wat it can do when u actually tow something heavy. trust me if u actually knew anything bout towing u would understand what i mean cuz even the chevy 3500HD takes a good while to stop a 30k trailer at 70mph
mudthrower007 1 year ago
@mudthrower007 it's going to take any rig a while to stop with 30k behind it. i've towed with a few different chevy's and i own two dodges. chevy's tow well but they get hot. this is my experience with the trucks. the dodges don't heat up near as much as the chevy's. at different times both trucks were stock and chipped and chevy's ran hotter than i would like them to. i'm not saying they are bad trucks. but the 2006, 2004, and 2007 models that i pulled with ran hotter than they should.
jt4265 1 year ago
@jt4265 that wat i said right before u. and thats the 2004-07 compared to 2010-11 totally different and plus u didnt own them so u used them once compared to everyday so u dont know how they supposed to run and wats normal for each truck which is always different

@MPLSTORM
MercuryMorrison1 2 years ago
You just going by sales, !!!Wrong I own trucks from all three brands. Fords are the cheapest trucks, and are the most available trust me my company and I have bought many many Ford trucks, theyre the least reliable. I have Dodges with over 600K buddy you dont know shit about trucks until you own one. And Im not biased because I own Fords and GM trucks. Dodges will always be #1 because they hold up the best over the years of being beat on.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
Hate to rain on your parade. But I work for a company that owns all three brands to. And our Dodges are in the shop a hell of a lot more than our other trucks. And for the record the highest mileage we ever put on one our trucks was a 1984 Ford 1-ton that had 937,256 miles on it. And Ford is a sale's leader for a reason, And no its not because they are cheaper a base model Ford is not much is any cheaper than a base model Chevy or Dodge. Ford is a sale's leader because they have...(Cont'd)
MercuryMorrison1 2 years ago
(Cont'd)
Proven themselves to the highest number of people. And think about it. Ford has been leading truck sales for over 30 years now. If there trucks were really as terrible as you act like they are, They would not have been in sale's lead for this long. Now as to were Dodge sale's maybe half a million trucks a year on average Ford sells close to double that annually. There is a reason Dodge does not sell as much as Ford. It's because they have proven to be less reliable in work situatuions
MercuryMorrison1 2 years ago
By the way the fact that the truck was 8 years old shouldn't make any difference, What matter's is that the truck was NEVER used to tow a trailer or even driven vigorously for that matter. It was a grocery go getter! And its piece of shit trans fell out at 52,000 miles. That's a low budget truck.
MercuryMorrison1 2 years ago

the reason they buy fords is because u can get 5 new fords cheaper than u can get 5 new dodges or 5 new chevys

@viperman8788
