i have obelisk in my deck, and one way i get him on the field without a hassle is to wait until he's in the graveyard and then activate shallow grave. Even if my opponent gets to summon a monster too, i think the trade off is acceptable.

nice deck. Heres some card that i would add:

1)chain summoning - lets u summon up to 3 times in one turn

2)double summon - summon twice except its easier to use than chain summoning

3)limit impulse - this is a really really good trap that is overlooked a lot. by discarding 2 cards from your hand, u get two tokens, u cant use them for obelisk's affect but u can use them to summon him, or any other monster.

@rinneganGX but if bringing out caius the shadow monarch wins you the duel then why not tribute obelisk? cause caius's effect if you dont know it, is when he's summoned successfuly you can remove from play one monster on your opponents field and if its a dark type then your opponent loses 1000 life points so if your opponent has one monster that oblelisk cant get rid of then use caius and win

Dude another way of bringing out Obelisk is using Mosaic Manticore. It's effect lets you bring out the tributed monsters back to your field giving you three monsters to bring out Obelisk. The only other thing I noticed is that Sangan is an illegal card in official Konami tournaments. Other than that good deal.

OK. So most overlooked, has everyone forgotten about Dimensional monarchs?????? This engine is insane for Obelisk. i took second place this last weekend using it. Cyber valley for draw, DDR for a first turn obelisk. Completely overlooked. Im taking this deck to a Utah regionals. It destroys Lightsworn AND Blackwings. Because, the decks need their graveyards.

im using my ONE obelisk in my blue eyes deck. and tributing all my blue eyes for him is perfect becaue i dont have a polymyrization, instead i have dragons miiror. witch requires cards to be either on the feild OR in the graveyard.  SO if my blue eyes are in the graveyard. i can remove them from play. to fusion summon. my blue eyes ultimate dragon. and have two very strong cards on the feild.... atk 4000 def 4000 AND atk m4500 def 3800 love the deck man
