I think you can just heat a metal one under hot water, and you should put mascara on afterwards which helps protect the lashes from damge (:

this is cool. i basically just use this technique and this technique from EnKore Makeup: 1. apply clear mascara. 2. use a hair dryer to heat your curler then curl your lashes. 4. coat your lashes with waterproof mascara. both ways works really well. thanks for posting!
