  • one of those rare times when the live version is just as good as the studio version...

  • I usually find live performance vids to be fail, but my god, this is just amazing .__ .

  • i play it on guitare at the same time i watch it! fly |

  • I did not know luke skywalker was in pink Floyd

  • love this song. Saw this sung in concert in the 80's

  • 9 people are uncomfortably numb.

  • Best theme album of all time

  • love it, was really cool wheni heard this watching the departed, think its the scene where he bangs the girl lol

  • DG's vocals are so amazing on this tune...

  • just dont know what to say...amazed, and proud i come from this era in music...

  • One of the most common observations ppl make with this is that the audio and video don't match... The audio and video are taking from different shows... As the second solo is improv, they don't match up, obviously... But the audio for the show where the video was taken wasn't as clear as this... so they merged them together...

  • Best 4ever <3

  • is it me or the notes that gilmour plays on the last solo isn't what we hear... like video timing wrong???

  • @iowazzupfellows83 video timing is for sure off a bit u can tell when he is singing before the solo

  • WoooooW I LOVE THIS GROUP I'M A TEENAGER BUT YOU KNOW, THATS HOW UNLUCKY I AM. I ENVY THE PPLE WHO LIVED AT 80S :(

  • lol no 5:38

  • I love the concept of the live version

  • i'd give my left nut to be at that concert

  • Cold chill/adrenaline rush. Best guitarist on the face of the planet hands down.

  • can someone please invent a time machine so I can see this concert??

  • phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Constant goosebumps from 0:49 to 2:49. Incredible.

  • @fezwoz Or, you know, constant goosebumps from 0:00 to 7:26.

  • BEST stoner song ever made? I think so!!!!

  • @123buddy3211 Definitely!

  • @123buddy3211 Listen to On the Run by Pink Floyd and prepare for uncontrolable body tremors of pure euphoria. In fact, Listen to the entire Dark Side of the Moon album for 45 minutes of extacy. Aw yeah...

  • "Comfortably Numb" was MY SONG, since it was what I was listening to when I received my first kidney transplant in March of 1981. I was thinking of this song when they were giving me intramuscular doses of Demerol in mt thighs to deaden the pain following the transplant (laughs and sneezes were a bitch!). And believe me, those shots definitely made me more than comfortable!

  • @Sunnydad lol, I can feel your pain man, I lost both my legs in an explosion. Same shit , different day.

  • @natescham Harsh man. I was able to get a couple of transplants for my shit. I hope that they are able to make the same kind of stuff work for you guys in the near future. Best of luck to you and yours!

  • You are being nosy.

  • Beautiful.

  • not to be nosie or anything, but how was this video acquired, and how is it that it's on youtube? Is there any copyright or any legal obstacles that needed to be overcome to post this video? The reason I ask is that I thought that there was video of the 1980 tour, which I think was only performed in London, LA, and somewhere else, but I was never able to acquire it. So just wondering.

  • What's the effect or something that he's using on the solo? It's freaking amazing

  • @swanniG2 I'm pretty sure it's chorus.

  • David Gilmour, Alex Lifeson, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix & Duane Allman... my top 5 in no particular order... Page, Beck, Berry, Howe & Van Halen are all right behind

  • @ryanaceman what about uncle ted??? (ted nugent)

  • @minielk454 Ted's a great player but i left out a ton of great players... Fripp, Townshend, May, Iommi, Johnson, Santana... Just NOT quite in my personal top 10

  • @ryanaceman it's understandable

  • Pink Floyd when you're sober: What the hell is this shit?

Pink Floyd when you're high: I totally understand!

  • @Aaron123Lane if you need to be baked to listen to floyd, you shouldnt be listening to it... have some respect

  • @KyLesCaster Who said I had to be baked to listen to floyd?

  • @Aaron123Lane

your exact words were *when your sober "what the the hell is this shit" *but when your high "i totally understand"

so in other words to you, pink floyd is "shit" sober

    you said it not me

  • @KyLesCaster I meant the story for the wall. And how it's crazy. I didn't mean the band was shit. I love pink floyd.

  • @KyLesCaster I think he means when you're sober its like what is this all about? Not what is the shit as in garbage.

  • 9 people are deaf

  • I love how every time I hear this solo it's always different.

  • David's guitar playing is sooo AWESOME!!!!! His voice is mesmerizing....always love his sound &style. The Floyd will always be # 1 for a lot of us. There are not enough words to adequately describe their concept of music.

  • Reminds me of when I used to pop Hydrocodones...

  • holy shit dude when i went to go see roger waters he performed this song the same way :')

  • Greatest solo, but here's another good one from Camel:

    /watch?v=w4FG33_ZYxo

  • I was 14 going on stupid. I have since grown up and just days ago turned 45. This the finest band of all time. Why? Because they cared when I was 14 and this music is timeless.

  • 9 people are jealous of the size of david gilmour's penis

  • @TheVidiotsAttack ^what's the fukc is wrong with this guy ^

  • Comment removed

  • The best song ever written and even better because Waters and Gilmour are performing it together..

  • A guitar solo that tells a story. Unbelievable.

  • I sink to the bottom of my seat and let my mind wander every time I heard that solo,...

  • pink floyd and led zeppelin..... its to hard to choose, i give up i like them both fuck you who ever said i need to pick a favourite

  • wow gotta love in the suggestion area there is no other band but pink floyd and there concerts thats cuz no other band has nothing on pink floyd

  • Hermoso....

  • The music for a thousand lifetimes! Pure Heaven!

  • nooooo... you folks got it all wrong .... David Gilmour is universe, Jimmy page is religion, Jimi Hendrix is fire, Eric Clapton is heart, BB king is soul.

  • @ilikeblondie OK the one guy that should be mentioned is not in your sentence...SRV. And the guy that killed him is heart? LMFAO you're retarded!!!

  • ...Jimmy Page is an awesome guitarist, no arguing there. So is Dave Gilmour, but if you ask me, both them guitarists are equal in their own separate ways... That's the same with similar guitarists Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, BB King etc. But they are all amazing guitarists.

  • I'm sorry but the best guitar player that ever existed is JIMMY PAGE. Listen to STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN solo and then say something...

  • David Gilmour hands down the absolute Best Gutarist in the entire world, Amazing could listen to this solo on a loop

  • has anybody else here who plays guitar noticed that the audio and visual are completely different what were hearing is not this concert.

  • @jayow2k8 Did you think that maybe the video is out of sync? :D

  • @VideoGameJunkie79 of course i did, but the notes gilmour plays and the notes that are being heard are not the same! :)

  • @jayow2k8 The audio is from a seperate concert CD. The uploader just added it back in to make it clearer because on the DVD, the sound is horrible.

  • My girlfriend said She Hate pink floyd......and now she's single

  • @ThePinkguns Even if I don't know you, I wanna tell you that you're the coolest guy on Earth. Remember that!

  • @ThePinkguns That's a stupid reason to break up with your GF over.

  • @VideoGameJunkie79 do you realy think so?

  • @ThePinkguns You made the right decision!

  • @ThePinkguns yeah my ex didnt like the Floyd either...how can you not tho??

  • i saw Roger Waters live 2011. that was a Great consert. but you can't say that the wall was complete. until Sir David Jon Gilmour comes and play that epic solo. iwas amazing

  • I saw The Wall on 6th August 1980, same show! Thanks for posting! Brilliant.

  • 9 people are comfortably dumb

  • Outstanding!!

  • Holy motherfucking solo...

  • Nothing stays forever !!

  • I know everyone in that concert loved that song... but there were chewing their nails waiting for that last solo...

  • woow

  • well this made my week

  • @raisethealarm7 week or weak? whatever it's good! pink floyd 4 ever!

  • on Aug 2, 2007

  • watch?v=jGnB_NI633A .

  • 9 people don't know what REALLY good music is.

  • stop compare this song to orgasm. it is annoying as hell

  • gotta love roger in a doctor's coat haha

  • One word --> MASTERPIECE!

  • I would have loved to be alive for this

  • SEX < THIS SOLO

  • Pink Floyd <3

  • man were you get this footage ?

  • this son kept me sane while my 48 hour son fought for his life, he survived but he is impaired as a result, 1987

  • the movie version is better cos at the end,you can listen screams and you see pink trmorphing into the fascist alter ego.

  • I pressed the dislike button and heres why:

I joined the dislike team so i can get their secrets and plans then ill join the like team and tell u guys so tht we can destroy them!!

-(fuckin love this song, so fun to blaze to ha ;))

  • Best 7,5 minutes of my life

  • 1,573 : 9 = 174.777777778

It Seems There Are Almost 175X More Comforably Numb Than Comfortably Dumb

  • Oh,God,what a wonderful melody! Gilmour is Huge talant!!!

  • I just noticed that in the beginning of this song, it's supposed to be a doctor talking to Pink. no wonder why Roger is dressed like one. I am so smart -.-

  • @musicdork4ever Yes, Rodger is supposed to be the doctor. A lot of people have debated on what David Gilmore represents. A lot think that he is Pink. But this is not so. I personally believe him to be Pink's conscience, talking to Pink as he is "comfortably numb."

  • @LeeHOswald0112 wow. I didn't even notice that either! lol. interesting fact!

  • This is porn for blind people.

  • Roger Waters must have 9 accounts. He is very jealous of David and his amazingness.

  • Seriously, the "dislike" button should be disbled for this video. How could anybody in their right mind not be immediately intoxicated by listening to this song? It's genius.

  • Magical to hear how the crowd starts to whistle when David starts to sing..

  • There are 1555 likes and 9 dislikes. Thats a ratio of 172.7 people who like this song for every people who don't. So, there we are. We know how many trolls are for every normal person on the internet.

  • the 9 disneychannel fans heard music when they watched it. but of course they are not used to it so they disliked that masterpiece. what a pity.

  • why is there even a dislike button on this video?

  • 9 people are uncomfortably numb...

  • WHY IN THE HELL THIS SONG GOT DISLIKES? OMG, PLEASE SUICIDE!!

  • whats with the solo it doesnt' match up at all

  • @f3l18ipsk8erm Ever heard of someone called David Gilmour? After Syd, David was the soul of the guitar for Floyd. The solo by Gilmour is my alltime favorite guitar solo. There is no solo with more heart poured into it. Unfortunately, at this point in time, Roger Waters was out of Pink Floyd. The concert was not a Pink Floyd Concert, it was a Roger Waters performs The Wall, which he had rights to. I know, I was there, I still have the ticket stub framed on my wall. What an awesome concert.

  • @vengful123 What i meant was the audio doesnt match up with the video on the solo portion dumb ass. Of course i've fuckin heard of david gilmour

  • @f3l18ipsk8erm It doesnt match because, like the description says, the audio is from the official live CD, which is not the same date as the footage. Because The Wall was/is/needs to be so tightly choreographed (because it has to be in time with the wall builders and the backdrop footage etc), the solos were pretty much the only place with room for any improvisation/change at all, and so is likely to be the place where youll notice the audio and video not syncing in a mix like this.

  • orgasmic

  • Yesterday I saw the Wall in Prague... Hell, it was good. But still I missed David so much...

  • In my opinion the best guitar solo EVER! No one else even comes close.

  • @peggybinky mmm i think stairway to heaven solo is up there with this one for the best solos

  • @25hullk I would have to disagree with you but I do like me some Led Zeppelin. No where near as good as Pink Floyd but a close third or fourth perhaps.

  • @peggybinky opinion obviously based on a very short list

  • @peggybinky i agree :)

  • @peggybinky David's solo talks to you it's so good.

  • @peggybinky People would normaly and expectedly say "Freebird" or "Stairway" as the best solo, but I will always remain true to the "Numb" solo!

  • @XvxBERSERKxvX 1:comfortably numb

    2: Fade to black

    3:stairway to heaven

    4:Mr crowley

    5: November rain

    6: Hallowed point

    7: one

    8: Dead skin mask

    best solos IMOP.

  • @Metallideth94 C'mon man, you forgot one...Freebird!

  • fucking amazing!

  • God I love this song!

  • comfortably numbed by the song

  • At 2:05, proof that God exists right there.

  • dave is totalling feeling it here

  • The best Pink Floyd song ever. It describes our lame ass government towards its people.

  • I literally just burst into tears. I really can't tell why, or if it was tears of joy or sadness, but i guess that my feelings just overcooked after i pressed play. A rather remarkable feeling to cry to a song. :)

  • @aijaijvagrarfettbra try listening to "coming back to life" and "shine on you crazy diamond"... those songs were written for Syd Barrett... very empowering lyrics.... and extremely good songs...

  • i think not any guitar solo can beat this one.

  • 0:39 looks like he is flipping out an iphone or ipod! :)

  • maybe the best song ever recorded

  • Awesome and I am 68

  • i cant believe i just cried tears of happiness to the first solo :')

  • Gilmour was always the better man in Pink Floyd, with respect to Waters. And I say that as a big fan and a bass player. He's brilliant.

  • OK.

    Just a little pin prick.

    There'll be no more aaaaaaah.

But you may feel a little sick

If it was that simple everithing would be better.I

  • When Gilmore appears above the Wall, with his amazingness, it is like an angel sent from the heavens.

  • i love this song ..great riff...They were awesome at the CNE in Toronoto

  • In a few years guitarits such as Gilmour, Page, Clapton and a few others will be gone and I haven't a clue about any current players who qualify to take their place. Any suggestions?

  • @zigarela me!!!!

  • This and Stairway to heaven from Jimmy Page best solos ever!!!!

  • that fucking solo is orgasmic and pure genius :)

  • i bet more then half the audience was stoned. i know i would be

  • @paradisecity599 Stoned? Or on acid?

  • @przybyla420 both

  • @paradisecity599 I agree. Perfect combo for Pink Floyd.

  • arkadaş her şeyden bıktım...bir sizden bıkmadım...her sabah olmadı haftanın en az 3 gunu dınlerım pink floyd u...

  • isnt that ray mears?

  • My favorite band is Rush... but my favorite song is Comfortably Numb.

  • Myth: Does epic music turn people on?

Testing method: Dark and warm place. And from nothing, starts Comfortably Numb.

    Result: Confirmed :)

  • 1337 likes. just sayin

  • great great song!

  • amazing. one of my faves. that guitar solo was SICK

  • a song from heaven

  • Love David's Voice... it's amazing #<3

  • That guitar solo never fails to make every hair ive got stand on end! WOT A FUCKIN LEGEND! I'd of sold my soul to satan to have been in that crowd

  • Goosebumps every time. Every single time out of the hundreds of times I've heard this song. And this is the only song that does that to me.

  • @conman45011 I kno' rite? :D

  • I'm not the total Floyd fanatic that a lot of people are but I can recognise true greatness when I see it. What these 9 fuckwits have between their ears I do not even want to know - it really isn't worth the time.

  • Just had an eargasim!!

  • Like others have touched upon, there is something about Floyd's deepest and darkest numbers that wrench at the soul. And yes, were more than just riveting. My late son Eli recognized the same thing. Maybe really, really happy and upbeat people can't feel it. I don't know....... Perhaps to Wright and Gilmour it was just another Gig In The Sky.

  • @DonARen1950 well said!

  • david... sh*t! his voice turns me on

  • That voice in the chorus.....flawless!!
