One of the most common observations ppl make with this is that the audio and video don't match... The audio and video are taking from different shows... As the second solo is improv, they don't match up, obviously... But the audio for the show where the video was taken wasn't as clear as this... so they merged them together...

@123buddy3211 Listen to On the Run by Pink Floyd and prepare for uncontrolable body tremors of pure euphoria. In fact, Listen to the entire Dark Side of the Moon album for 45 minutes of extacy. Aw yeah...
"Comfortably Numb" was MY SONG, since it was what I was listening to when I received my first kidney transplant in March of 1981. I was thinking of this song when they were giving me intramuscular doses of Demerol in mt thighs to deaden the pain following the transplant (laughs and sneezes were a bitch!). And believe me, those shots definitely made me more than comfortable!
@natescham Harsh man. I was able to get a couple of transplants for my shit. I hope that they are able to make the same kind of stuff work for you guys in the near future. Best of luck to you and yours!
not to be nosie or anything, but how was this video acquired, and how is it that it's on youtube? Is there any copyright or any legal obstacles that needed to be overcome to post this video? The reason I ask is that I thought that there was video of the 1980 tour, which I think was only performed in London, LA, and somewhere else, but I was never able to acquire it. So just wondering.
David Gilmour, Alex Lifeson, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix & Duane Allman... my top 5 in no particular order... Page, Beck, Berry, Howe & Van Halen are all right behind
@minielk454 Ted's a great player but i left out a ton of great players... Fripp, Townshend, May, Iommi, Johnson, Santana... Just NOT quite in my personal top 10
David's guitar playing is sooo AWESOME!!!!! His voice is mesmerizing....always love his sound &style. The Floyd will always be # 1 for a lot of us. There are not enough words to adequately describe their concept of music.
I was 14 going on stupid. I have since grown up and just days ago turned 45. This the finest band of all time. Why? Because they cared when I was 14 and this music is timeless.
nooooo... you folks got it all wrong .... David Gilmour is universe, Jimmy page is religion, Jimi Hendrix is fire, Eric Clapton is heart, BB king is soul.
...Jimmy Page is an awesome guitarist, no arguing there. So is Dave Gilmour, but if you ask me, both them guitarists are equal in their own separate ways... That's the same with similar guitarists Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, BB King etc. But they are all amazing guitarists.
i saw Roger Waters live 2011. that was a Great consert. but you can't say that the wall was complete. until Sir David Jon Gilmour comes and play that epic solo. iwas amazing
I just noticed that in the beginning of this song, it's supposed to be a doctor talking to Pink. no wonder why Roger is dressed like one. I am so smart -.-
@musicdork4ever Yes, Rodger is supposed to be the doctor. A lot of people have debated on what David Gilmore represents. A lot think that he is Pink. But this is not so. I personally believe him to be Pink's conscience, talking to Pink as he is "comfortably numb."
Seriously, the "dislike" button should be disbled for this video. How could anybody in their right mind not be immediately intoxicated by listening to this song? It's genius.
There are 1555 likes and 9 dislikes. Thats a ratio of 172.7 people who like this song for every people who don't. So, there we are. We know how many trolls are for every normal person on the internet.
@f3l18ipsk8erm Ever heard of someone called David Gilmour? After Syd, David was the soul of the guitar for Floyd. The solo by Gilmour is my alltime favorite guitar solo. There is no solo with more heart poured into it. Unfortunately, at this point in time, Roger Waters was out of Pink Floyd. The concert was not a Pink Floyd Concert, it was a Roger Waters performs The Wall, which he had rights to. I know, I was there, I still have the ticket stub framed on my wall. What an awesome concert.
@f3l18ipsk8erm It doesnt match because, like the description says, the audio is from the official live CD, which is not the same date as the footage. Because The Wall was/is/needs to be so tightly choreographed (because it has to be in time with the wall builders and the backdrop footage etc), the solos were pretty much the only place with room for any improvisation/change at all, and so is likely to be the place where youll notice the audio and video not syncing in a mix like this.
@25hullk I would have to disagree with you but I do like me some Led Zeppelin. No where near as good as Pink Floyd but a close third or fourth perhaps.
I literally just burst into tears. I really can't tell why, or if it was tears of joy or sadness, but i guess that my feelings just overcooked after i pressed play. A rather remarkable feeling to cry to a song. :)

I'm not the total Floyd fanatic that a lot of people are but I can recognise true greatness when I see it. What these 9 fuckwits have between their ears I do not even want to know - it really isn't worth the time.
Like others have touched upon, there is something about Floyd's deepest and darkest numbers that wrench at the soul. And yes, were more than just riveting. My late son Eli recognized the same thing. Maybe really, really happy and upbeat people can't feel it. I don't know....... Perhaps to Wright and Gilmour it was just another Gig In The Sky.
one of those rare times when the live version is just as good as the studio version...
