The FCC says the airwaves belong to the American people, but if candidates want to use them at election time they have to pay through the nose. Could we re-write the airwave lease agreements to get a better deal for America at election time? Probably not. The communications lobby is too powerful. They're not giving anything away. I have gone off John Edwards recently for another reason. One day he was talking to Kerry and he told him a story he said he'd never told to anyone else before, about hugging the body of his dead son and promising to make America a better place. Healthcare is the single most important issue in the 2008 election. United States is the only Western industrialized nation with out universal healthcare. The private sector is not stable enough for healthcare. Our own health is at stake here. Kucinich is the only canidate who coauthored the HR 676 bill, a bill that was supposed to lead to a more healthier and prosperous America through single-payer, universal healthcare.

We should let Paul get rid of the pointless government agencies, reverse the police state, abolish taxation and the private central bank, ban gays from the military, keep "under God" in the pledge, then let's put in Gravel to undo the military gay ban, remove under God from the pledge, and legalize pot. Incrementally it can be fixed. No one candidate can do EVERYTHING

Vektor417, Ron Paul is actually against FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EVER REGULATING (and that includes - AGAINST TAXING) the Internet. He's been also awarded "The Internet's favorite candidate" by CNET. Note, that there is no so-called "net neutrality" in Europe (check in Wikipedia and/or Google) and the coverage rate is actually quite impressive over there.

The regulatin euphemistically called "net neutrality" is sponsored by the special interest lobbyists with a very specific agenda - allowing the gov't to regulate the Internet would be the slippery slope to further control and censorship in the future. We already have unwarranted wire-tapping, do we really want to entrust the gov't with even more power?

nchmch: I don't think net neutrality would lead toward that. Net Neutrality simply sets it upon the government to enforce upon Internet Service Providers - that they must allow equal access to all the internet (not favor one search engine over another by giving their customers faster access to one). I don't think it's a slippery slope.

What Mike Gravel says (with a disregard to the troops in vain statement) is almost 100% of the time correct. And these candidates won't come up and tell you where their campaign contributions come from. You could e-mail any candidates and they would tell you to check public records.

Ron Paul actively writes that the separation of church and state is unconstitutional, alex. He voted for the Marriage Protection Act. He voted for the Pledge Protection Act. He voted for Don't Ask Don't Tell and he even voted to ban gay people from adopting children in Washington DC. If that's respect for Constitutional principles, then count me out. The man is insane and there's no comparison between him and Gravel.

I have gone off John Edwards recently for another reason. One day he was talking to Kerry and he told him a story he said he'd never told to anyone else before, about hugging the body of his dead son and promising to make America a better place. Thing is, Kerry had heard the same story from him the year before - when he also said he'd never told anyone before. There's something not quite right about that.

Politicians take any money. they dont drive regular vehicles like the rest of us does. And they are all about money and whos back they can scratch so when they get in a tight spot they can scream help.
