I just commented on another Frank vid w/ CCEB about Chick's masterful comping behind Frank's solo. This an example of the opposite scenario where bad comping can detract from amazing soloing.

I notice there's a debate here in the commentary about the musicianship of these guys and I think it proves my point . The rhythm behind Frank's solo is a little mundane and nearly makes Frank sound a bit ho-hum. The sound quality didn't help, either, but it's obviously because of the recorder.

You know,Fakanas' style is a bit childish.I mean,listen to his solos.They have nowhere to stand.His playing is monotonous

@Tonythemusicman136 If you don't want to criticize bad playing, but poor musical ideas, i will simply disagree. Regarding the right of your opinion, you are right. that's why the comments are for. the fact that he supports his improvisations in particular liks, is true. everyone does, but it is a characteristic of his style. finally listen to Fakanas music (cd's) and then judge Fakanas more accurately. generally speaking..
