I remember this video being shown in the theater as a promo to the movie, whoa daddy, it blew me away. What a fierce video (and song), rock n' roll at it's best. Unfortunately, the film, I recall, was far less memorable (I actually remember very little about the movie). But this video is GRAND PRIZE.
@foxcell Honestly, this music video has all the best parts of the movie and it does a better story telling job than the actual movie. You will find yourself just skipping to the first and last songs.
I do not know how old he was in my childhood when this song came up but now I love it and it is impossible is indifferent to him; I've seen crowds raving and dancing with her in these times
I can't quit say why but this has always been my favorite movie even when I was just 10 years old compared to now at 24! I can still see it when I drag out my VCR player! :-)
POWER, POWER...
One of my favorite songs/movies of all time. I so wish this movie got better publicity but it was panned by the critics. Anyhoo, I'll always love this movie.
I have memories of my mother watching this movie when I was just a little boy, 4, maybe 5 yrs old. At that time I didn't realise it, but Diane Lane is fucking HOT! Damn, she's still got it after all these years.
Nope, "Nowhere Fast" was written by Jim Stenman and performed/recorded by Fire Inc. in 1984 for the movie "Streets of Fire". Meatloaf had asked Jim Steinman to write all the songs on his album "Bad Attitude" but wound up using only two Steinman songs, one of which was "Nowhere Fast". The album "Bad Attitude" was released in April 1985 (the following year).
This film/soundtrack is beyond perfection! Fucking brilliant music, class/cheesy/80's feel to a 50's film. well beyond it's years! Diane lane....still hot! BOOM :)
One thing i dont get it.This movie was a hit and a cult worldwide,Brazil,Australia,England, but only in the USA.That most americans, never ever heard about this movie.Failed in the USA,but was a sucess worldwide.
Streets of Fire, one of the best rock-operettas ever filmed combines rock-the house Jim Steinman songs, 1950's doo-wop, 1980's angst, film noir & time-warp apocalyptic fun. The film really sums up the 1980's & IMHO, is a mega-ton hoot to behold & enjoy. Yup, think of Disneyland on drugs, & youre on the trail of truth about this wonderful film. This video gives you a taste of the movie, and of its period. See the film and get carried away, dear reader. Godspeed...speed us away! Peace.
Very nicely done, and a good promo for the movie in that it gives a nice sense of the content and visual style without spilling any important plot points.
The drummer is excellent here. Love the way he spins those sticks at 0:29. Only thing--after watching this video, there's no point watching the film because so many of its scenes are here.
the best filmsong ever!!!!
