  • WAVE TV 3 purchased this and later asked Florence to do a special version for my Explorer Post cable TV station down at Fort Knox. The first version featured "makes no difference where I go, this is the best place that I know..." and "we all love you" at the end; because we were competing for a national Exploring communicative arts competition. Two years later, the Explorer Post/television station contracted and paid her to redo the lyrics to "we all thank you". A GREAT memory!

  • she sang our tv station here in Pittsburgh :)

  • There was another symphonic version for ABC12 WISN Milwaukee

It was performed by the Milwaukee Symphony (conducted by former Tonight Show bandleader Doc Severinsen), and it was sung by the orchestra's choir.

  • Florence was my roommate back in the 60's. She'll always be Flo to me. One of the all time great voices!

  • I miss campaigns like this and the reason the Symphony was involved was that at the time, Channel 4 was playing an active role supporting a struggling orchestra. Whatever happened to the sense of fun and adventure at WSMV? It's almost too corporate now..

  • What a voice! And to the naysayers, have you ever heard the Nashville symphony in person. I Have, and friends they take a backseat to no one! These musicians are arguably some of the most versatile in the entire industry, going effortlessly from Willy Nelson to Mozart and enjoying the variety as they go. No one lives on caviar, when a cheeseburger appeals to you, you eat it and love it! Snobbery has no place among true artists!

  • The icing on the cake would be if at the end, instead of shouting "Hello Nashville!, HELLO NASHVILLE!", she'd shout "Channel Four!, CHANNEL FOUR!"

  • God!!! This is awesome!

If this is cheesy, then make mine with an extra slice.

    Florence is a vocal goddess!!

  • Dan Miller, provided the intro here, RIP 4/8/09.

  • OMG I can just imagine how humiliating it was for the orchestra. You study all your life and then you have to sit play for this crap. Although it works as far as news promos go, but why drag the arts down with you?

  • LOL. So cheesy but fun. You know some snotty assed elitist probably will say something about this being the height of culture in Nashville, though that's not true.

  • I love this too...it reminds me of that episode of Family Guy where the commercial jingle singer performed at Carnegie Hall.

  • I worship the cheesy ground this walks on. Whew. I miss these news campaigns, though, and Florence has a hell of a voice.
