We can't keep our insurance that we have as they just raised our plans cost fro, $49.00 each to $130.00 each. So much for reform. If they would stop all those "middle men" Liberty, the Scooter Store and the like, our insurance companies would be getting gouged as they are now. Despite my criticism, I appreciate these videos. It's only a tiny fraction of the transparency promised during the campaign, but it's a start. I hope there are more to come, as there is plenty of legitimate criticism of this bill that should be addressed by WH staff, such as the prohibition on hospital expansion and the bank account provision. It's natural to see these kind of rumors when you've created a 1,000 page bill that almost no one has read or understands. Maybe it's time to start over.

The Lewin Group, an independent health care and human services policy research and management consulting firm, says that the healthcare reform plan will cut Medicare to the tune of $361.9 billion, based on their research into the policies under consideration. Senator Obama spoke out against this very kind of thing in his presidential campaign last fall, yet it is going to happen under this bill with his blessing.

This is related to Obama, and his Chicago style politics. A single payer health care system is a big step in consolidation of power. See the book, "Culture of Corruption". This is far greater problem of corruption than we've ever seen. It isn't about liberals vs. conservatives.

Which why like choice in this case. So if Obama keeps his promise about having a public OPTION, keeps the price low AND keeps all of the "forced abortion", euthanasia,bureaucracy,ect. out of the bill, then I guess I would have too much of a problem with in spite of my conservative beliefs.

The real question should be: "is our government of, by & for the people?" The answer is no. It's a government of, by & for the corporations (AKA the free market).

You know that social security taxes are taken out of paychecks? And a big issue in the 1990's was the social security "lockbox" and it is talked about a social Security trust fund. All says social security taxes are earmarked. The false scenerio comes from how the gov't speaks of SS, not me. We are taxed for SS and the money is spent on other things. This is fraud.

Perhaps you need to look up the definition of "fascism." At its heart, fascism is a corporatocracy (i.e. the "Free Market" controlling us all - which is the problem of insurance companies and pharma profiting from keeping us all sick).
The Nazis were not socialists, despite their label - they were fascists. It's time to end corporatism and support democracy. Take my advice and watch "Sicko" and "The Business of Being Born"

OK, I think you need to look up the definition of "free market" because you are saying the free market is fascism. If fascism is a "corporatocracy," where does the power of the corporations rest... is it in the consumers which the win over or is it in law?
My point is that the power of the "fascist corporate shills" which you deride is given by those who support reform such as the current legislation. That is, progressives empower the gov't to become fascist even if that is not the object

Again, you distort what I say. A big problem with "conservatives" is that they don't know what that word even means.
What do conservatives wish to conserve? The environment? Oil? Fiscal discipline?
The past 20 years of their policies says otherwise, & all they only want to conserve is the status quo of "let the market decide." When you value free markets over free people, the less American you become, and the more fascist you become.

Liberty, I agree with Mattimber. Looking at US History (this isn't Stalin's Soviet Union after all), the government has been more the friend of common man than big business. That's why labor unions tend to back liberal candidates. Conservatives trust in "trickle-down" economics that rarely trickle down.
Conservatives distrust big government; liberals distrust big corporations. That's what's at the bottom of this vicious dogfight, and I don't see that disagreement getting resolved any time soon.

OBama here says Medicare "works" and yet it is bankrupting the US. That is amazing.
Would be nice if a push for reform via increased socialization would begin by recognizing Medicare has been a complete failure that has bankrupted the counrty.

Despite my criticism, I appreciate these videos. It's only a tiny fraction of the transparency promised during the campaign, but it's a start. I hope there are more to come, as there is plenty of legitimate criticism of this bill that should be addressed by WH staff, such as the prohibition on hospital expansion and the bank account provision. It's natural to see these kind of rumors when you've created a 1,000 page bill that almost no one has read or understands. Maybe it's time to start over.

I believe that most of the people spreading these lies about the President's healthcare proposal are doing it because of their political agenda. They do not believe the lies that they repeat, but believe by repeating them, they are somehow helping their political agenda. They are not interested in health care reform or in helping the 100 million people in the U.S. who need better health care and who will be helped by President Obama's reform.
