Dear People, it is true that we "want" and "neeD" opposition party in the Parliament. But not to the extent of jeopardizing the "Structure" of our Country. We cannot want any good MPs down just because we don't like the colour. Please Be more realistic and rationale in the next 5 years election. Thank you.
Nicole, go fight other Constituency "IF" You got Brains. Even if you can get our "Top Leaders" Down, Do you think You are up to the Mark of George Yeo Yong-Boon ?
Yes pap has been great to us singapore citizen and we will forever be thankful but that was during lee kuan yew era the transformation he's given to singapore was incredible. Post lky, gct and lsl aren't that great, I as a singaporean think more can be done to the middle and lower income. With the current issues singaporean are facing right now ppl are looking towards opposition coz pap are not that relevant anymore.
Tin Pei Ling actually epitomises the spirit of more than half our citizens - feet-stamping, fake, ignorant, materialistic... She is elected as a national symbol to remind us of ourselves.
i know that spencer ng. he used to teach at north vista sec, i heard that he left the school because he used to send a female student home from sch, and was suspected of having intimate terms with her.
Its not just about starting well, there's is maintenance to do and finishing well with the first good intention is what we want.
We need young people like Nicole who is passionate about people's livelihood in their home country and know what she is talking. Don't you see her in MM Lee's young days how he fought for Singapore? That's the attitude and the character. Please note , empty TINs make a lot of noises.
PAP is not bad.. Its just that they spoon-fed us too much to even try complaining, and this makes us weaker in the long run. Oppositions, however, did the right thing. They made us stronger by doing lesser. They do not sugarcoat anything. We can only be more self-reliable and independent when we are not overly-protected!! What Is Life Without Motivation?
I dun see anything really bad abt pap..think we just kept thinning that opposition will be better, but what did the opposition parties did when they got elected?did they really do a great job?or even a better one compare to pap?we target pap,yet how much do we rely on them?honestly, singaporeans should reflect on themselves before they complain about pap.it's a fact that opposition parties only talk about how well they want to BE, not what they are going to do.what's the point of talking withou
@frenzmeant4ever it's not that the opposition doesnt WANT to do anything. is that everything they propose get's rejected by the pap. take Potong Pasir for an example, it's not that Mr Chiam See Tong doesnt WANT to see upgrading works done, is just that PAP is in control of all the funds so no choice lor...
I feel PAP has done a fantastic job so far. We are very strong economically and many other countries are learning from us. My vote is with the PAP! This party had done Singapore proud!
XX fails to realise that the game was never a Nicole Seah VS MM Lee setup. Rather, it's Singapore's urge to see a formidable and decent opposition, to get heard in parliament, to be truly represented and to have a healthy degree of check and balance. By deleting all pro opposition posts on her facebook page and blog, it is clear to the community that what she understands her erroneous argument, rendering the sensational post as a mere publicity stunt.
@IsaacIsLow well, look, even though she won, still spaming on the dislike button. But anyway, it would probably take quite a long time for Tin Pei Ling to really catch up with the likes button~
Miss Seah should also ask if we the Poor And Pitiful Singaporean R willing to feed someone til his age to 92 and perhaps up to 97 while he is already VERY VERY LOADED
Some say experience. Some say must know the door long enough for people to accept you.
I say if Mr Lee need to earn the experience and knock the door so long we will never get independence.
In short good is good no good is no good. 1 time must make it. There are too many people holding a pink I/C but not born a Singaporean. So what ever you think, think who they will vote.
What the people's voice? The people have many people who are only citizen but previously PRs and foreigners.
"I DO KNOW what to say and how to say it and not come across like a giggling moron".
Well done Nicole, you are the face of the new Singaporean, confident, educated, brave and prepared to stand up for your beliefs. You have done your parents proud and I'm sure I am not alone in wishing you all the best on May 7th.
"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently."
Before I decide this is a message for you Nicole. You are too prominent. Better tell your members to buckle up. Voters need confidence.
Perhaps you could just a born speaker but it seem they are not. Its the last few days now. Perhaps a few BC session will help. Business communication session I mean. I attended tat 15 years ago it help.So you better make sure they know. Not cuz you good but they juz so lacking.
One term is all it takes to see if they can do it. Anyway we know so many terms were given to the same people over and over already.
Although even Im more qualified then her and since she so keen I might just vote her team.
MP is very easy one .Primary school can already.Just add more gantries. Increase the ERP can already. Now is how not to add and increase our burden yet life is improved for the better and with a potential that is the challenge.
Heavy weight no heavy weight. Here is a light-weigh champion.
Heavy weight is suppose to fight in the big arena.
Look at the way she speak. How many things are untrue.Try measure that. Our government say problem here problem there. Whats the real problem?
Problem is no one let us really have a share to solve the problem or voice even the solution(s). If u can see the problem be grateful someone willing stick their neck out for you now.24 yrs old means a long way to suffer or help u.
Look at our campaigns now. A big big change from the last election. Who do you think made so many changes? Look at the web. Low is ChengZhen. Cham is G.I.Joe. I think she is featured as wonder woman.
The opposition are fighling for their lives.Tats why they are willing to do it.
I'll be monitoring everyone cuz Im in Marine Parade GRC. I don't care about parties. I'm onli concerned about ppl. If this one is good, I will vote for the group even if the rest are no good. Its seem no choice.
Beware,we voted out good and responsive candidates. Here is one despite being juz 24 yrs old, not someone the government would say is a talent but yet she managed to get in on rally day. With no chance to even look at the actual things tat are going on, her replies were all acceptable.Far too many nasty questions, yet she came off quite fine.
We Singaporeans are fighting for our life now! Vote same you end up same.Vote differently you have a chance. Im still not decided.
Young? Didn't many of the Olympic competitors out there who won gold medals not even 18 yrs of age?Didn't Alexandria won the Battle of Gaugamela in his 20s? Young is not an issue. Its the people see it as an issue. I don't know her honestly. But in merely 8 days this people need to show something.
hey seekwendy, those award, bursaries n stuff...th current govt gave her for free ??? all of the 12years education study in NUS ALL given BY govt ? IF Nicole Seah never work hard govt still gave her ? you ask her what have Nicole Seah learned all these years in sch ??? are you crazy seekwendy? use your brain miss seekwendy.
who gave u money for edusave money for the pass 12 years of your education in singapore. plus those award, bursaries n stuff...th current govt gave u tat..n also the opportunity to study in NUS. So what have u learned all these years in sch Miss?!
Things went down because LKY stepped down from PM. This is of course as the shoes Mr Goh was fitting in was very huge. While i do not believe Mr Goh was an excellent PM, I believe he did his job fair enough. However, I believe it is the current cabinet that is in question. With so many issues being turned a blind eye, We can no longer just sit around and say, " Hei, things will work out." any longer." Once again history has taught us that the sons of great leaders are often greater blunders.
i thought that the dude was being a tad too harsh on goh chok tong. singapore is a very young country and these leaders in the early days probably didnt have experience in leading the country. to hold accountability sounds more like a punishment. i mean, yea there might be things that we could improve, but seeing how a bunch of people who had no experience but building the nation to its current state, we cant deny it is quite a good job!
I used to be in Marine parade GRC, just when i thought this year got a chance, they switch our area to Aljunied GRC tinking that those used to PAP rule in past 19 yr will chose to vote for PAP to try to dilute WP voters in Aljunied GRC...
Guess they are threaten by the 2006 close shave...
24yrs old or 27 yrs both also too young and inexperienced to manage a constitution.Haven't even enter wedlock and manage their own family no wonder these 'kids' are not given SMCS.I cannot imagine myself being ruled by somebody's 'girlfriend','facebooker','iphone-games-player','clubber','swimsuit wearer'.$200 000 from taxpayers money is going to be paid to these 'kids' who want to try politics.
@afzp25 the important thing here is that what they are standing for. It's not like we are electing her as our next PM. What we urgently need now are more such voices in the parliament to fight against policies which are not in the interest of the public.

@Topsage007 don't look down on people, a warehouse assistant is at least running on his own capabilities and not because his spouse is someone of high rank, and besides, i think we need people from all walks of life in parliament...

Nicole Seah.
What an irony that she experienced political awakening during her university days!
Well, I am happy for her, and understand the hype now.
Her speech, though simple, sounds & looks rather genuine.
Got to admit, she is pleasing to the eye.
And yes, if this were a beauty pageant, then she will win with her confluence of beauty & brain.
