so when u hit the clutch pedal the pressure plate kind of moves back and lets the lil thing under it move and when u let go it puts pressure so friction will stop the lil wheel inside from spinning.... O_O
tht vid sucked, he wa tlaking out of his ass, first off the friction disk does not bolt to the flywheel the pressure plate does, then thos finger springs actuate the contact durface of the pressure plate. when clutch it downt he throw out bearing presses in ont he finger springs, moving the contact surface back dissengaging the pressure plate formt he disk and vice versa, and no its not made out of brake pad material or it would smoke!-they make carbon, kevlar, ceramic, and sintered iron materials
they go to a high school where the certifications are just thrown at them, lol.
I am currently in High school in my senior year, i am tkaing electrical as my trade and i know 2x more that any of the current auto students as well as post graduates. lol
lol cool dude. I took auto tech prep in hs but i graduated automotive school since then. It funny listening to other ppl make fools of themselves talkin cars like they know it all, and its hysterical when they detest you when u explain cars and you know youre right.
@novadose914 Wow you are an idiot and the 8 other people that voted up this comment.. he never said it was made out of brake pads he is comparing it to a brake pad because they are both friction components and he explained the clutch disk moving back and forth from the flywheel. Apparently you didn't watch the whole video.. this video is intended for beginners no dumb-asses that think they know it all and think everyone else should.. otherwise nobody would make money from working on cars!

what if you keep your foot down on the clutch pedal when going down hill, does this damage the clutch or damage anything.
