  • Dracula: Lords of Shadow is what it is...not castlevania..

  • I really, really liked Lords of Shadow. Amazing game!

  • ive got this game and it is really good lookin forward to the dlc :)

  • News flash , it's not accepted . Theres a huge split up fanbase .

  • @NWNisFUN and those who disapprove will just not play it and spend the rest of their lives plaing old games :) while this evolves.

  • @metachozoite The only thing evolved about this game is the graphics , everything else has been done long before .

  • @NWNisFUN and what game is not a ripp off of another? gow took elements from zelda, metroid, and mortal kombat.

the games great though dont you think?

  • @metachozoite Nope , I was disapointed before it came out . It is over rated , same old stuff , graphics are amazing though .

  • Well said from this guy, we really need some fresh ideas and games with old school action and puzzles....And this game rocks \m/

  • Cox is a great man, he knows what he's doing and find a perfect balance between catering to the old and new fans, including classic and new gameplay elements, and everything.

And it's obvious that he really cares about quality, and yeah, Lords of Shadow turned out to be awesome.

  • I really enjoyed playing Lords of Shadows. I hope Dave Cox and Mercurysteam makes more Castlevania 3D games in the future because LOS it's a beautiful awesome game.

  • Only question i have is the PS2 castlevania time line dont match LOS time line... I love castlevania and been a fan sence 1986 when i was a kid and i own just about all of them even the NES games still in the plastic. but just that time line im not sure if im seeing it wrong or if its because of the new change. dont get me wrong i love the change

  • @brass76 It's not suppose to. LOS is a complete reboot of the franchise. It has nothing to do with any of the games.

  • wounder how many people watch this clip before they say anything about the title lol

  • I'm very proud of this man and Mercurysteam. In my opinion they succeeded in creating a great 3D Castlevania. And chapeau for giving the series it's manliness back with the Gabriel character, since the series were plagued with many faggy girly men characters like Alucard and stuff. I find it interesting that many people I know don't like the original Castlevania games, but love the Metroidvania style games. Probably because they're a lot easier :D.

  • @Death1121 That's what I think too. They don't like dying a lot in the original games. lol. I love SOTN but my all-time favorite in the franchise will always be Super Castlevania 4.

  • Awesome game it is. I can't wait for the sequel.

  • Dave Cox, congratulations man!!! You made my day!!! I'm just a Castlevania fan for long time, and this new release is just super big awesome!! Thank you for waking up Konami's castlevania team and thanks Kojima!!!

  • when is it going be release in Europe?

  • what COX said about symphony fans crying about this game was true. in most of the reviews that were negative the reviewers said it wasn't like the symphony of the night style games. this is more like the level by level old games.

  • Lament of Innocence had extremely in depth combat. he was wrong to have not mentioned that.

  • The interviewer should not suck a huge load of cum out of someone's cock before interviewing and leave it in his mouth.

  • Awesome interview! Probably the best LoS one I've heard so far.

  • I would love some other playable modes, or even costume DLC. I'd like to see how Gabriel would look in Richter or Simon's outfits.

  • As a huge Castlevania fan I'm very pleased with what I've seen so far from this game. Great job Dave, you certainly hit the jackpot with the spanish composer and the awesome-sounding ost. I think you did a great job with the restrictions Konami put upon you, and I'll be there day 1 to pick up the collector's edition.

  • i stopped playing castlevania games after symphony of the knight after that konami lost its direction and feel of what castlevania use to be.

Believe that sparks from the producer in this clip is convincing he speaks of the 3d games on n64 which where bad and that it needs to be back on the same level as say castlevania IV for the snes those where the days when castlevania ruled supreme thats how i feel about it!

  • As a MASSIVE Castlevania fan, I'm objectively open to the idea of being able to willing half-accept this new direction for the series. Maybe.

  • WHOA!!!....This guy knows his stuff!!! He's like dissecting every piece he's going on about video games; then comparing, contrasting the concepts and putting some of that influences on this new Castlevania game. And he's right about the franchise, Castlevania was about the flow of the adventure but the COMBAT was fairly weak. We need more guys like him.

And for the record about the God of War series, I like playing that game. I could careless about those whiners...they can watch me be happy.

  • I'm glad this game won't have quick time events like what every non original action games have. go and read it on wikipedia if you think I'm lying

  • Is Bruno interviewing this?

  • i hope they dont mess it up

  • is it simon or richter

  • @blakerodneyjoseph He is Gabriel Belmont

  • omg I cant belive another castlevania game coming ooooouuuuuuttttt this is awsome bitch.

  • He keeps saying Devil May Cry and talks about Castlevania. This guy has my respect.

  • Thank God someone at Konami has opened their eyes, the classic Castlevania games were simply epic...Castlevania(NES), Simon's Quest(Yes even this one), Dracula's Curse(Castlevania III), Super Castlevania (Snes), Dracula X (remake of Rondo for Snes), Rondo of Blood(PC Engine)....these were REAL Castlevania games. Walking the hall right after fighting Death and watching all the candles light up as you pass by...leading to Dracula himself (SCIV) is legendary.

  • OH MY!!! This guy knows his shit! Now, those are befitting answers to all the questions in our minds! Awryt Lords of Shadow, BRING IT!!!

  • I respect and appreciate what Konamis trying to do with CLoS. Yea, it may not be original, but im a HUGE Castlevania fan and look forward to the new direction. A Castlvevania game with a GoW type combat engine. Like he said, GoW is what Castlevania should have been. I believe this combat engine will fit a Castlevania game better than it does GoW, even though Konami didnt initially implement it. And I love the mythelogical creature enemy designs. The side scrolling WAS weak and lame already.

  • and Castlevania Adventure Rebirth is great on Wii too!!!!

  • Whata buncha assholes. Thats the problems with alot of games nowadays, companies want to 'expand their audience'. In other words, sell out. This is the same shit as DMC and GoW, a million little enemies and a giant enemy you fight with button sequence CGI. LoI was the last real Castlevania.

P.S. if anyone actually cried when Aeris died, you have no reason to live.

  • @rmhanzel wow...that's some trollin'...

  • Not really, I just wish games were more like they used to be; original... Seriously, every games trying to be like CoD or GoW. Even Resident Evil took a turn for the worse. Again, if anyone ever cried over a video game, they deserve to die.

  • You just seem a wee bit hyperbolic..."deserving to DIE" and such. I think what he's saying is Castlevania in particular had really dug itself into a niche, always trying to recreate SotN on DS. He's saying to make the series relevant again it need to do something radical. It barrows a lot of element from GoW but in the old days, wasn't metroid and Castlevania extremely similar?

  • Yeah, but they had different concepts, which is what made them great, just like mario and every other side scroller. Skullmonkeys is no exception. I'm saying if you literally cry over fiction, you have a problem. FFVII was a phenomenal game, but when Aries died, I was happy, her limit breaks sucked and she was a total cock block.

  • As far as crying over Aeris, he's 100% right, games can be a powerful storytelling medium capable of covering the full range of emotion. Unlike a movie or book, you are actively participating in the stories flow. I always rate games higher for deeper stories. It's not the game that makes you cry, it's the story and that's the highest goal of a story: to make you identify with the characters to the degree that you fell what they feel. Are you really that threatened by empathy?

  • I'm not threatend by fiction, because it isn't real. I'll cry if my girlfriend dies, but if she gets impaled by some asshole trying to take over the world, I'll be pissed as shit and probably try to kill him. Games these days lack story, yes, but they also lack originality. Again, FFVII... Awesome, one of my favorite game of all time. But who can identify with any game characters at all nowadays? Thats what was great about VII, the story was close enough to reality to be interesting.

  • @rmhanzel Who the fuck is Aeris?

  • @JIMPACHRAL Seriously?

  • @somadavenport Just tell me. I only play action and fighting games

  • @JIMPACHRAL dude i didnt even play final fantasy but i know the all the people in the game one of which is arith to find out what hes talking about search ariths death

  • @somadavenport Well, that tells you what I know about games. And besides, there is serveral people who don't even know Kratos or Master Cheif.

  • @JIMPACHRAL yeah but id support that cause thoes games suck

  • @somadavenport ....and those games are overated.

  • Oh god I want this! I feel like a child who's waiting for something so deeply . . Which og course I am at this moment! But I want this so freakin' badly!

  • I can't believe no one is talking about this game:/

    the game looks sick man!

It needs to come out 2 months after GOW 3.

  • @xin0 i agree, i can't wait man

  • in a different interview he says theres going to be more titans like the ice titan in the trailer which you wil have to climb and kill all in real time, none of that quicktime events, he says its going to be more like Shadow of the Collosus, which i think its awesome

  • yeah a lot of people are disappointed that lords of shadow looks too much like GoW... i see why they gave it that look now, the guy here is obviously a big fan... but i can't wait for this game! =]

  • allow patrick stuart, robert carlyle is the one!

  • this guy seems really passionate and he spoke quite candidly about the franchise's weakness and strenghts. Clearly stated the influences but what i like most is that he wants to tell an emotional story, which i havent really experience in ANY action slasher game including god of war and devil may cry

  • Really cool to see a frank and informative interview! The game looks great and sells itself, which is how it should be :)

  • It looks great

  • is the guy giving the interview stoned ? xD

  • i can not wait to play this.

    everything castlevania

has been so fun to play

  • i hope its gonna come out amazing i have hopes for lords of shadow i am a castlevaniac

  • aerith DIES!!!!

  • good interview

  • cool... hopefully they can deliver... (was that Patrick Stuart at the beginning?)

  • Nice interview (mostly due to that guy's PR skills). And yes that's Patrick Stuart himself.

  • thats very promising...
