Well, it sounds like youve got new strings. Thats about all you can really tell from a laptop recording and speakers. Otherwise someone is BSing someone.
Compared to the before vid, it sounds much more open and resonant to me, more clarity, with more balance. But, I am more of a Martin man....could be you just like the gibson sound??
I agree. The setup made a huge difference. I'm also a Martin man and, without trying to sound too harsh towards Gibson guitars, don't see how you could call any Martin "tinny" compared to any Gibson. In my experience Gibsons lack any notion of a deep tone and are mostly thin sounding noise coming from the strings only. I wouldn't own one but that's just my opinion.
Yes, major difference indeed--that's my guitar! Dan worked on my D-18 in October, so I've been playing it a few months now, and it's great. The jumbo frets take a little getting used to feel-wise, but I love them, the whole set-up sounds fantastic. I'm still getting used to the wider string spacing at the nut though; might eventually have Dan rework that for me. Volume and tone of guitar are greatly improved, and it also now plays in tune all over the neck. Thanks Dan!
Wow, what a difference! I don't know if I had talked with you about this before, but I've got a '57 D18 with a cracked and poorly repaired top and sides that I'd like to have you look at and see how much it would be to set it up right.
By the way, the pickguard looks great! Let me know. Keep up the good videos!
THANKS DAN FOR POSTING YOUR #. WILL BE IN TOUCH.

I dont like this "sound" .. its all down to
what you want, and what you want to hear,
this sounds to tinny to me, its sounds like
a banjo?
But its all down to tast.. not all of us like
marmite do we?
I supose thats why im a gibson man!

Thanks for the comment,,I'd have to see the gtr
to tell how much it will be to repair that D-18.
But that's right up my alley to set up a great old D-18.
Glad you like that pickgaurd.
Thanks Dan
