hey, i have a keystation pro 88 & battery 3. i use battery as a multi-out (x16 mono)- ive had no issues assignin my knobs 2 control the panorama of the mono aux outputs in logic's mixer. when i do the same for logic's faders, it says they've have already been assigned from the 3rd fader on. gives me the same message when i leave learn mode&asks me if i want to keep both or reassign. it ends up mapping multiple keystation faders to one logic fader, or the other way around. what am i missin?

Having some trouble setting up my control surface mode change and my akai mpk49, i have the time division buttons to scroll through different modes, but after a while i wont know which mode is selected coz logic sees the button as whenever its pressed light on or not it changes the mode, when my akai sees it as a on/off switch instead is there some way of making it so when my 1st button is lit its my EXS24, 2nd button is my ES1 etc.? If you dont understand what i mean its cool coz i dont really

Hi. I've set up my Akai 88 in Logic Express 9 by using the controller assignments page. All the faders, knobs, and buttons are assigned, and I have 2 of the pads set for fader bank foward/ back messages. Thing is, the colored bars underneath the tracks which tell you which set of 8 tracks are controlled won't show up. The option to view "Control Surface Bars" is checked but greyed out in the arrange window "View" menu". Is there any way to get these colors to show up? Thanks

whenever i try to assign to my edirol pcr 500 it only lets me assign volume and sometimes pan. any ideas?

thanks for such an awesome video, your time is much appreciated, I am trying to assign the apc40 to work with logic but when i try to assign the faders each one only controls the selected track and not the specific one it was assigned to in learn mode, cant figure out why, any ideas as to what i am doing wrong?

@ 2.40 the parameter changed by fader to isnt set to fader 2 in the mixer but to "selected track" - so it will always be another track controlled by that fader - be aware and try to change it before you get stuck ;) love your tutorials ninja btw

Unbelievably, (really damn cheesed off right now) when I try to learn one controller it is the one beside it that moves. i.e. i click on channel 2, 3 moves and so on. I am no novice to this which is why it is so damn frustrating. I have deleted every single assignment I have and started all over again - same thing. WTF is going on here?

Hi, thanks for this it is awesome....except I have one problem - I followed everything you said and it all works great except for getting the faders to bank over to the left or right (which is kind of important!) is there anything I might have missed or any others settings in logic which could effect this???! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty sure I followed everything you said in the vid which is why it is frustrating...why logic....??? why??!

hey i did all of this...and it worked at first...but i must have hit something cause now when i try to assign the mixer to the nobs on my e-mu xboard25...instead of assigning track 1 to nob 1 it starts at track 7 with nob 1...help!

Now the main problem is that by pressing "Next Fader Group" button (that I created by this tutorial) it goes not by 8 faders, but by 9. And that means every ninth channel is left and can't be controlled. (9,18,27 etc) What I should do?

You set up 8 faders too, is it working well for You SFLogicNinja?

Hello. First of all, i'd like to thank You for Your help and support :)

I tried that control setting method of Yours, and there are some things that I noticed with my Logic Pro 9 and Axiom 49:

1) The Parameter can be "Fader Bank for Current View" and "Fader Bank for Tracks View"

2) Bank type can be "By Bank" and "CS Group Setting"

3) Value (0 - 8) doesn't matter at all. I input 0 - 127 and it worked the same way.

I cannot for the life of me assign the play/record/stop and rewind buttons on my Oxygen 61 to the transport bar in Logic 9.

There is no class for the transport bar.

Option-K, choose 'play'... hit learn midi, and there u go.

@zimonslot To do that you need to tell Logic that you will send Midi Machine Control (MMC). Go to Preferences -> MIDI -> Sync Tab -> MIDI Sync Project Settings and enable "Listen to MMC Input" down at the bottom. Voiá!

I have same set up as you. ksp88pro. the bank buttons are not working for me. The first time i set it up it worked fine. I lost the assignments I made, and had to start over.  When I set it up again, the buttons would not work for switching banks.

Hey man, thanks for the help...much appreciated. For all you axiom users out there, I would only recommend that you change the mode to RELATIVE under value for the controllers that you are using to switch fader banks. I have an Axiom 49 and this method did not work until the mode was changed. Great video.

I have assigned to my Axiom 61. All works fine and dandy and I saved with my template files. Funny thing though is that the controller assignments have now disappeared. It is not the first time it has happened. Seems to happen from time to time. Is there any way I can save them elsewhere or reload? Thanks a lot

Always be sure the axiom is powered up before Logic is booted. If Logic doesn't see the port, it will lose the assignments. This usually happens when the keyboard is powered up after Logic is booted. I had this happen on stage. Never again!

I have been tring to asing my digi 002 to controll Logic but I am not gating it , is there any problem with the dididesign 002 to work with Locig ( as a mixing controller) or is jusat me not knowing hou to do it . please help

Can you control multiple synths at once? For example, if I'm running an ES-2 on track 1, an ES-2 on track 2, and an ES-1 on track 3, can I manipulate different parameters on each and record those controller moves at the same time?

I tried to assign the faders of my controler, a Evolution MK-449c, to the Mixerfaders in Logic. There is a strange behaviour: the first fader of controler and mixer go right, but the next controler-fader starts at the fifth mixer fader. mixerfader 2,3 and 4 are "dead". I tried the assignment over and over again, no result. Even I tried it with Ableton Live, there it works right. Can it be a bug or do I overlook a fault?

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think it is possible. At least I haven't found a solution.

Use the Key Commands window.

Key commands can be assigned to buttons on your controller.

Hit Option->K then select a transport control on the left side. Down on the lower right, there is a 'Learn' function for midi. Hit that, then hit your button on the axiom, and you're off.
