Neo Geo had a 16bit CPU running the show same as megadrive but 50% faster working with some graphics processors also had an 8bit master system CPU just for sending code to the 15 channel sound processor . Magazines at the time said it was 24bit but it dont work like that it was just a 16bit. The cartriges on the megadrive were 7Mb - 20Mb the NEO Geo cartriges were 64Mb - 1000Mb. Imagine an arcade motherboard on steroides in a console for the home.
