Lol religion is for those type of people? you called it bullshit brainwashing and we can't think for ourselves, but Christians are the ones who can't respect others? lol
@yllierutube actually there are jobs in Heaven and personal possessions the rewards from this life are your possessions as for money idk as for bank well He says store up for urselves goods in heaven. we gotta have jobs to get by in this life
The best and most easy/biblical way to be able to retire is to save the money you earn and put it away PROPERLY when they are young and by the time you are 60 you can retire from working and live nicely. BUT DO NOT END YOUR WORK FOR GOD. WE WILL WORK FOR GOD EVERYDAY UNTIL WE DIE.
The Bible says that you should kill your neighbor if you see him working on the sabbath. You can't really take this pastor seriously. Your philosophical "opinion" doesn't make it "truth". what is truth?
@soccerdanny4 oh yeah, I forgot, the old testament and its commandments are no longer valid. Homosexuality isn't mentioned in the new testament, so I guess it doesn' apply either. cherry picker
@WorldMilitia I didn't cherry pick anything, not sure why you think I did. When Jesus drank the cup He said "This is the new covenant", which means Christians follow the New Testament. a homosexual can get Into Heaven. The most important thing is if they love God and love their neighbor, and accept Jesus. Then anyone can get into Heaven. Homosexuals are not thought to be any more sinners than myself or you.
@soccerdanny4 in the new testament there are no laws against beastiality, homosexuality, adultery, prositution.....its all in the old testament. Under your logic, sense the old testament is the old covenant, then all of this including the 10 commandments is no longer valid. You can't say some parts of the OT are still valid, and others are not
Really? The Commandments are not reiterated in the New Testament? That's news to me. I have an idea, if you want to argue about Christianity, read the Bible. I'm not saying some are valid and others are not, I am saying what is the most important rule and if we follow that we can get into Heaven. We can be homosexuals, follow 2 rules and get into Heaven.
@soccerdanny4 what about matthew 5:17-18 where jesus says, "Im not hear to change the old laws". Your trying to merge bronze age thinking with modern era. it doesn't work
@WorldMilitia With regards to merging the two it is important to note what laws have been fulfilled as well as what laws are still in effect. No laws have been changed or destroyed. Some have merely been fulfilled. The law of animal sacrifice and earthly punishment for sin have been fulfilled through the crucifixion as they were merely school masters for Christ's sacrifice on the cross.
Lol, no context in that? Jesus came to fulfill the law. That means He isn't saying forget the Old Testament, He's saying "That's what I came for", to fulfill with the sacrifice.
Sexual immortality is as much of a sin as lust or stealing though, which makes me no better than any gay person. That's the whole idea of sin, that because of it we are all equal, and because of sacrifice we are all made equal. Can you tell me what Paul disagrees with though, I wasn't sure what you were talking about...
@soccerdanny4 i didn't say you were better than a gay person. Secondly, I was referring to many things written by Paul however specifically I was thinking of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Lastly, sin cannot be excused. Only those who are repentant and strive for the narrow road will enter into the kingdom of heaven. Those comfortable in their sin will not. Remember the parable of the ten virgins
Hey i'm not judging or anything and i hate to butt in on ur convo like this. But wen u see a fellow christain falling then u have to help. Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to forfill it. Matthew 5:17 and Ephesians 2:14-15. He came to show that the law points to him. We can't follow the law perfectly because we're are not perfect. Thats why we follow Jesus. Being homosexual means that u go against everthing He stood for. you're not rejecting him with words but by the things you do.
Don't take political/economic advise from preachers. He insinuates that that people wanting to get rich and borrow money and make money off of speculating on real estate caused the issues we are dealing with in our bad economy. Yes the people speculated with real estate but who made it possible? Our federal reserve banking system and the government pouring out counterfeited money into our economy with artificially low interest rates.
@dromezz1993 Christianity =/= religion. Religion is man searching for God. Christianity is GOD SEARCHING FOR MAN. we are not "religious", we are FAITHFUL to the LORD. we do not put our hope in something we don't know for sure is real. the reason we remain faithful to Jesus is because we KNOW He's real. we are not called to "respect other faiths", we are called to respect other PEOPLE. we call all other faiths false out of love and because we know they are false.
How does this guy pay his bills? Does he preach for free? This guy is in soooo much trouble. He is an egomaniac and is going to have so much too answer for. scarey:(
@dromezz1993 Please don't you WILL regret rejecting and not serving Jesus later when you die and its not too late man repent and just pray for him to show you the truth or pray for a vision
When Mark heard the words 'integrity' or 'moral rectitude', he reached for his dictionary, and when he heard the clink of money in large quantities he reached for the rule book and threw it away.
.
Mark does nothing BUT preach fire and brimstone. I have heard him on multiple occasions scream at his audience and claim that they were sending themselves straight to hell for something as simple as making out with their girlfriend out of wedlock.
.
saving me from what? the torture god set up for me?
Thats right folks. slave away your entire lives and dont save up any money for your retirement, that money belongs to the church GOD DAMNIT!!! and we cant make money off people who arent working their fingers to the bone at 70 because they want to enjoy their last remaining years..
.
Mark, shut the fuck up. you are rich. you claimed to have 3 plasma screen TV's in your house and tivos for each of them. good luck getting into heaven i guess.
@YukonCornelius1776 You are spamming similar story on each video! It doesn't matter as much what he has but how he uses it.... How much of his money do you think he gives away?
He gives none of it away I can almost guarantee you. He probably doesn't even pay taxes on it since the church cant be taxed. According to the bible he should be using almost 100% of his money to feed the poor. not buying big screen TV's and Tivos and telling everyone how they are going to hell.
.
I really don't care what you think. If you agree with Mark here then good for you. I hope you have a fun time when your 70 and still busting your ass.
you're looking at it wrong. When a Christian is preaching the Gospel, it is not about condemning people to hell, it is about SAVING THEM. No doubt, Churches have used to the fire and brimstone fear tactics, but no true christian delights in condemning nor having their brothers go to hell. Personally, I think its pretty easy to see that this man's heart is in the right place. God bless you and yours.
A business that flourishes, barns overflowing with grain, retirement account covered, life insurance (or any other insurance) covered, making plenty of money... Well looks like I wont have to worry about the conflict between having the "American Dream" and being a Christian.
Please comment on the act of not tithing during life because of fear you won't have enough to support yourself or family, but then giving your entire estate upond death to multiple churches. Christianity is the best life insurance you can ever invest in! What other life insurance includes eternal life free of sin and evil and you get to be with the Creator :)
The American dream isn't to retire. The American dream is the ability for anyone--no matter what race, color, or creed, whether they're poor, rich, or middle-class--to make however much money they want depending on how hard they work, how they use their talent, etc. Driscoll affirmed the American dream in the beginning of the clip when he said to start businesses. The American dream is the freedom to benefit or fail on one's own initiative. And that is Biblical.
the double entry ledger is the cross we're all crucified on.....sin is debt....money is debt....it's just a means of exchange...and our means of exchange is owned by a private corporation, The Federal Reserve
Attachment to money at any level is evil. Jesus said plainly that the rich don't go to heaven. And the things Jesus spoke about were repentance and the Kingdom of God. Honestly the harsh truth is that God is not even the least concerned about your money problems. He is interested in your spirit, your character. So why do preachers preach about money? Because thats the only way they can keep you money lovers in church. smh.
God is the Savior of all men, especially those who believe- Paul in 1 Timothy 4:10... That's like saying track is for everyone, especially for those who like to run. Jesus is the Savior of all, especially for those who trust in Him. God's grace & mercy will win out over everything else in the end, after His judgment. Those who reject God will face Him on judgment day but God will not write them off forever.
I don’t think Jesus knew that America existed at that time. I think it’s a dumb idea to Americanize Jesus and profit from it, what’s so spiritual about that? Want to know another perspective on life? Read Viktor Frankl. By the way, anyone who reads this post, check how Jesus really came to America! Hers a hint: Spanish Inquisition! check out what happened to all the people who didn’t believe in Jesus…
@gahver I think since Jesus knows all things - past, present, and future - he knew that America would exist. I think every word he spoke in the Bible was spoken with a knowledge that people across times, cultures, and places would hear and read them.
Unless you're one of those people who denies the deity of Christ... but we won't get into your absolutist assumptions today.
@kevinlockett215 yeah he could also read the Tarot and your hand palm... You do realize that "slave" is another word for servant and that is what Jesus modeled us to be and all the apostles. I'm just making the observation, not pointing any fingers. Not everyone is happy with money and if you're one of those who thinks getting more will give you happiness, well then you're in for a real treat.

hahahaha this guy ALWAYS makes me laugh... it's just the way he says things.... "sipping drinks with umbrellas on them.. that is not a goal in life.... That is a dumb idea!" hahahaha
@Johnt4jc . Did you really read my reply or just skimmed through and replied? Didn't the bible talk about His disciples saying, "who then can be saved?" and Jesus replied: "with men its impossible but not with God:for with God, all things are possible"?
Does a poor God makes mansions 4His children in heaven with streets of gold?
IM SAYING WHAT JESUS SAID!
You misunderstand what i said so i'm gonna let you to it, but i doubt if the bible i think u read tells you to call me names when we disagree!
@Johnt4jc Jesus said its very hard but He never said its impossible for rich men to enter heaven
Mark 10:23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
If He didn´t want us to be rich, why would He become poor so that through His poverty we might be rich? He said that IMO to see if the guy will serve God b4 anything else
In the past few decades the concept of the American dream has been twisted and convoluted. Originally, the American dream was that you could work hard and live a better life than your parents and grandparents. When America was founded this was not possible in Europe where if you were born a peasant you stayed a peasant. Now it seems like the American Dream is getting rich.
@roboflyguy There's nothing wrong with having money or spending it. Money becomes dangerous when it becomes an "idol". Money pays for things like food, water, shelter, Doctors, and medicine. If you have enough of it you can more than possibly help someone in need. So having and giving are great when you have it. Money isn't good or evil; its undisciplined people that corrupt and distort its usage.
Christians should never grow tired of doing what is right and good. It is very selfish to sit back in ease and comfort , Full of wealth. There is work to do: Spread the GOSPEL, Feed and Clothe the POOR ! Give shelter to Homeless families.
@Yuilen Well don't fret too hard over it. When you think about it's really quite simple.
Who cares more about the how and why of condemnation in the case of sin: The condemnER (Christian) or the person/people being condemnED (everyone else on the planet)?
Pastor Mark has never sounded more like a less than reputable used car salesman. The American dream - which is apparently the dream of growing old and infirm and ending up in a Florida retirement home and sipping on tropical drinks while your family withers away from your lack of investment in their future - is stupid and foolish.
So ya'd better get/buy some (more) Jesus to offset that American dream.
@themanofearth How on earth is he telling people to 'buy Jesus'? He's telling people to find fulfilment in spiritual endeavours, rather than material. This is fantastic advice, whether you agree with his theology or not.
@askanerdgirl Sorry. Perhaps the "get/buy some (more) Jesus" thing was just my way of expressing what I heard which was, 'following Jesus and investing in your family, church community and God is the way to offset that dumb American dream.'
If that were the American dream that would be dumb. Any civic minded person (religious or not) can get behind the fact that IF that were the American dream, that WOULD BE rather stupid... But since it's not... (continued...)
@askanerdgirl ...he sounds the aforementioned used car salesman trying to make everything sound gloomy, dingy, and wrong especially in comparison to this nice shiny Jesus*** I mean car that he's trying to sell you. <- insert wide smile. That might be just me though. I've not bought the Jesus car yet and based on everything I've seen over the years... The car's been in too many accidents and had too much mileage put on it to be worth risking the investment.
@themanofearth If you really feel like that why are you still coming back to the same use car salesman and looking at the car? if the car hasnt changed and you still hate it, what inside of you keeps you coming back to kick the tires? Either A) You keep hoping the car will magically change to something else, or B) you actually like the car but cant admit it to yourself.
@wayoftheforesthand Uh...or C) Because the used car salesman (and anyone who buys the car that you don't get till after you die) receives special treatment regarding morality over people who don't buy the car and therefore a special place in regard to politics which affect my life and the lives of many other people. And all of this while having a track record of rather socially insane, destructive, and/or retarding (as in the sense of progress inhibiting for very poor reasons) decision making.
@themanofearth so because Christians believe that certain actions are bad which in turn effects their voting, you are upset with a video talking about not making money the soul object of your life... most of what you have just said about why Christians are bad is personal opinion on events. not everyone, including none religious people, agree with you on political matters. so stop raging about how Christians are the single reason why "insert progressive idea" isnt passing. its not just them.
@themanofearth How ironic. I thought you were the author of this video, and a Christian. Now I see you're as blind as a bat and as doomed as a flightless bird.
@Yuilen Well apart from an initial failure to distinguish between user names themanofearth and mhcseattle (how I don't know), you've now made an assertion with no justification behind it as an intended insult.
All I can say and all that really all that needs to be said at this point is, "How very Christian of you."
It's true what's being said here.

You misunderstand what i said so i'm gonna let you to it, but i doubt if the bible i think u read tells you to call me names when we disagree!
dorafan25 6 months ago
@Johnt4jc Jesus said its very hard but He never said its impossible for rich men to enter heaven
Mark 10:23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
If He didn´t want us to be rich, why would He become poor so that through His poverty we might be rich? He said that IMO to see if the guy will serve God b4 anything else
Remain blessed :) x

@Johnt4jc doesn't it also say but all things are possible with God?

If you can retire from work you can pursue other dreams and commitments and areas to bring God.

I love ya Pastor Mark but that is by no stretch of the imagination the American Dream.

It amuses me how many people bicker over what constitutes sin or Christianity. And pretty much all of those people aren't even Christian. Yeah.
Yuilen 1 year ago
@Yuilen Well don't fret too hard over it. When you think about it's really quite simple.
Who cares more about the how and why of condemnation in the case of sin: The condemnER (Christian) or the person/people being condemnED (everyone else on the planet)?
:-P

Pastor Mark has never sounded more like a less than reputable used car salesman. The American dream - which is apparently the dream of growing old and infirm and ending up in a Florida retirement home and sipping on tropical drinks while your family withers away from your lack of investment in their future - is stupid and foolish.
So ya'd better get/buy some (more) Jesus to offset that American dream.
themanofearth 1 year ago
@themanofearth How on earth is he telling people to 'buy Jesus'? He's telling people to find fulfilment in spiritual endeavours, rather than material. This is fantastic advice, whether you agree with his theology or not.
askanerdgirl 1 year ago
@askanerdgirl Sorry. Perhaps the "get/buy some (more) Jesus" thing was just my way of expressing what I heard which was, 'following Jesus and investing in your family, church community and God is the way to offset that dumb American dream.'
If that were the American dream that would be dumb. Any civic minded person (religious or not) can get behind the fact that IF that were the American dream, that WOULD BE rather stupid... But since it's not... (continued...)
themanofearth 1 year ago
@askanerdgirl ...he sounds the aforementioned used car salesman trying to make everything sound gloomy, dingy, and wrong especially in comparison to this nice shiny Jesus*** I mean car that he's trying to sell you. <- insert wide smile. That might be just me though. I've not bought the Jesus car yet and based on everything I've seen over the years... The car's been in too many accidents and had too much mileage put on it to be worth risking the investment.
themanofearth 1 year ago
@themanofearth If you really feel like that why are you still coming back to the same use car salesman and looking at the car? if the car hasnt changed and you still hate it, what inside of you keeps you coming back to kick the tires? Either A) You keep hoping the car will magically change to something else, or B) you actually like the car but cant admit it to yourself.
wayoftheforesthand 1 year ago
@wayoftheforesthand Uh...or C) Because the used car salesman (and anyone who buys the car that you don't get till after you die) receives special treatment regarding morality over people who don't buy the car and therefore a special place in regard to politics which affect my life and the lives of many other people. And all of this while having a track record of rather socially insane, destructive, and/or retarding (as in the sense of progress inhibiting for very poor reasons) decision making.
themanofearth 1 year ago
@themanofearth so because Christians believe that certain actions are bad which in turn effects their voting, you are upset with a video talking about not making money the soul object of your life... most of what you have just said about why Christians are bad is personal opinion on events. not everyone, including none religious people, agree with you on political matters. so stop raging about how Christians are the single reason why "insert progressive idea" isnt passing. its not just them.
wayoftheforesthand 1 year ago
@wayoftheforesthand It's so cute when people base an argument on a straw man that was refuted in the same thread...
themanofearth 1 year ago
@themanofearth How ironic. I thought you were the author of this video, and a Christian. Now I see you're as blind as a bat and as doomed as a flightless bird.
Yuilen 1 year ago
@Yuilen Well apart from an initial failure to distinguish between user names themanofearth and mhcseattle (how I don't know), you've now made an assertion with no justification behind it as an intended insult.
All I can say and all that really all that needs to be said at this point is, "How very Christian of you."
