  • All this needs is beat sampler, very nice

  • I want both, they're both cost effect and decent recording tools. I'd like to buy an analogue synth, nothing beats analogue, but it's too expensive, i don't have the cash at the moment. So I'm forced to go digital and be as creative as i can be LOL.

  • Nice. Thanks!

  • sounds like a tune from megaman

  • I think we have our next Ronald Jenkees folks!

Truly magnificent, very nice tune, I am, in fact, buying a Kaossilator soon.

Hope I can get as good as you!

  • OUTSTANDING!!

  • How long did it take to get used to the jist of it? I'm considering getting one.

  • i love em but WHY are they ALL LEFT HANDED?????

  • @HomeDistiller i know this is what i thougt just having the record buttons and shit on the left would be much easyer.

    unless youre left-eyed

  • which scale is that?

  • The last minute sounds like something you would hear on the N64 game snowboard kids

  • how much is that thing i saw it at guitar center thinking about getting it and a microkorg

  • @ThatOneRenoKid

Don't buy it at guitar center. They sell it for $200. They overprice all their stuff. I just ordered it on amazon for $120. Fight the power. Listen to the song "gooder dank".

  • I wish the Kaoss Pad Mini had more than just 10 synths... and actual playability.

  • i know its 3 years gone but do you have the live file for this? i have a tapeworm and would love this riff

  • sounds like a song im working on right now... actually it might just be the same chord progression. i have to go check now :P

  • tweakbench is sweet.

  • wow..i'm mesmerized

  • Very heartwarming composition :)

  • i love the sound 1:50 ..

    what vst make this sound?

  • @MelodicWinter That's the theremin on the Kaossilator... default #3, not a VST.

  • 1:50 epic!!

  • if I were to go and buy the M-Audio E-Keys and the Radio Shack's USB to Ac adapter

would I have the chance of damaging the M-Audio E-Keys

  • Great sound. Exellent

  • @BobdeGroot5 If you like that sound already you should chek out the kaossilator

pro, the sounds are even better, especially when it comes to clean sounds. I was already deeply impressed by the kaossilator but the pro really blew me away. Now I have both...

  • Sorry if it has already been said, but surely you mean "midi" keyboard, not "mini" keyboard?

  • @ThBearsFriend

    actually it looks like a mini-midi-keyboard ^^

  • maybe he meant a mini midi

  • sifonic!!!!!!

  • this sounds a bit like "you make me" by blarsa. which its self is an EPIC SONG, about a minute and a half in it plays similar chords with the sam noise/effect

  • beautiful, sounds

  • This could well work on a sega sonic game =P

I really want to see someone make a loop on their kaossilator and do a mega keyboard solo over the top. If/when I get a kaossilator, thats my plan ;)

  • this is great

  • nice

  • this sounds like the kind of music i want to create with my kaossilator. got it 5 days ago and it's sooo much fun...!

i'm more like playing around right now than creating music, but it's very easy to lern how to deal with that thing. i'm recording everything i do on my pc and sometimes i have really good passages, and those just need to be improved and turned into flowing music.

and again, it's so much fun! get it! :D

  • this music brings a tear to my eye, so beautiful

  • that is bloody beautiful, sounds gorgeous man

  • the power in the music just bring tears of joy to my eyes and this also puts my husky to sleep

  • Im getting one of these, and I was wondering where do you hook up the RCA cables so that it records sound like it is doing now? Also, how should I run it through my speakers, just dual RCA to AUX wire?

  • I've just borrowed one of these today. Never seen one before but, I'm hooked!

I've plugged it in to my computer via a 3.5mm jack plug lead (same 3.5mm jack plug on both ends of lead) I plugged it in the earphone socket of the Korg and plugged other end in my laptop mic port.

I have successfully recorded it on Mixcraft DAW after tweeking the volumes & selecting the right settings of sound in control panel-hardware & sounds-manage audio devices, on Window Vista

I hope this may help you.

  • You can connect in by chinch-minijack wire to the computer :P

  • Yeah this is truly impressive.

  • This man has fucking soul!

    so beautiful :'[

  • In 3:00 the playing got out of hand. :)

  • hey i'm a drummer, but i wanna get a kaossilator. Are they easy to work and stuff?

  • i bought mine yesterday and i already feel like i bought it a year ago (in terms of playing obviously, not that i'm tired of it) but you either have to know something about scales and tunes or have a good ear

  • yea you pick it up super fast. its not really that complicated but sometimes you really have to tweak to get that perfect sound.

  • hell yea...get it

  • @HIxAlchemist probably he easiest instrument ever constructed.

  • Tapeworm is brilliant, in fact, all Tweakbench synths are.

  • i like the way it sounds on 1:50

  • you are very good with the kaoss pad

  • does any one know if i could use a microkorg XL as a controller for VSTs in FL8??

  • plug in the microkorg,

select the microkorg as the controller in fruityloops > settings > Midi

    easy!

  • The Kaossilator, is compeletly different to the KP3.

The Kaossilator is sorta like a synth, and the KP3 alters Parameters, and dose all those crazy modulations, that are more controllerable in real time

  • the kaossilator kiks ass

  • so true

  • Great stuff - should draft a beat in after a minute or so... I was just sat hoping for some rhythm to kick in..!!

  • I got a similar setup and I you just made me fix my Line-In. I could never jam with my kaossilator because of my line-in problems ;(.

Btw, nice oldskool electronic soundchoice. Commenters with problems should just express their problems by making music themselves instead of commenting.

  • very powerful strings and only two notes!!! (the ones that play all the way thru) u r a sick man

  • Damn! how did the voice programming works like that??!!

  • Cause korg is hella cool! The kaossilator and the microkorg + microkorg xl have voicing like this. :D

  • kaossilator should have a midi conexion for an external controller...

  • Totally agree. But it is cheap, it looks and performs really well.

  • yeah, the problem is that is just a little toy to have some fun during the first week or so... i bought and in less than a month i sold it... is not a synth at all, is just some type of memory bank with some sounds that are fancy to play because is tactile... but is not usefull in a serious context if you want to do some substractive synthesis or something similar... of course in a dj set to add some type of sequential effect suddnely it is usefull, i suppose korg did it think about that...

  • I agree ... im 14 and my father bought a kaossilator but only I use it xD

It's a toy, but Korg's bigger synthesyzers an Synth - Keyboards are better than this mini keyboard ...

  • Agreed, along with an SD slot, or some other kind of memory. These things are awesome sketch pads, but the lack of memory bites when you're on the go. There is talk that their will be another kaossilator.

  • yeah, but the this is just a miniture version of the KP3

  • WHAT ?

Kaossilator is a synth NOT FX !!

    use google !

  • mini kp is fx niggah

  • actually i own one, so i have no need to google it,

    why don't you google kp3

    notice it includes some syth

don't bust me with your ignorant statements

  • Incorrect. The Kaossilator is a synth, while the kp3 is a midi controller/fx pad. The Korg miniKP is a miniture version of the KP3.

  • no . . .

  • nooo they have that. the kp mini which is an fx pad. this is a synth.

  • the kaossilator and mini kp are smaller broken down versions of the kp3, one is a synth, one is fx, both originate from the kp3

  • Technically its not exactly a synth, since it only has built in presets. You cannot change the waveform, shape or filter settings like you can do on a real synth like e.g. a Moog, DSI or Alesis. You can only control the parameters within the range of the factory presets. So it is more a keyboard minus the keys, but a cool little instrument nonetheless and much more portable, than a Moog voyager ;-)

  • Absolutely not, this is a synthesizer in itself, and the KP3 is a midi controller.

  • nope, close, but no cigar, the kp3 CAN be used as a midi controller, so it's not only a midi controller, thats like saying the microKORG can only be used as a midi

  • true true. the KP3 is many things. And that is why i want one very badly.

  • you can also use kaossilator on Ableton live thru midiyoke...

Some recent VSTi can also swap signal from kaossilator to almost fully control live or even add libraries... i used C64 sound samples in kaossilator and i loved it.

  • this is just amazing and i mean amazing

just installed the vst how u getting that tone with it,what program u running it through?

  • Haha! It's like a tiny 2-dimensional Theremin. I always wanted to play one!

  • regardless of the equipment demonstration, I actually really enjoyed listening to the music...

  • ah... the keyboard reminds me of mario tennis on gameboy colour

  • microKorg > both of them

  • Comment removed

  • debatable.

  • i was never so fond of the Kaossilator cause it's more of a tool to make quick easy songs but the sounds on that korg are sick :D

  • May I sample this?

  • Goosebumps! Big big up , keep it up , do your thing ! I like it !

  • like the sound of koassilator in that vid.like such =)

  • can you save what you did in your computer with the kaossilator? like, do you connect it to ur pc or is it just an external instrument, which needs recording with studio equipment?

  • I could be wrong but I am almost definite that it is an external instrument. There is no connectivity ports on it only head phones and line out.

  • thats ok to record through though, line out to line out is picked up by cubase so u can record with it.

  • I think Kaossilator has midi if i'm not mistaken

  • no... it actually doesn't have MIDI.. Nor does it have any inputs for triggering w/ another device, sadly. Still, an ammaazzzingly cool gizmo for the dough. This vid gives the impression this player is triggering the sounds of the Kaossilator w./ that lil' keyboard. He is NOT.Also seems kinda hard to believe he is so skilled as to be able to pluck that melody out on the touch pad!!

  • 1:38...

    Awesome.

  • what are those tapeworm settings? are you using effects?

  • Got a myspace?

  • wow you are somthing else ...just watched nearly all ur vidz ...blown me away.....great 5

  • like this ....make my hairs stand up

  • great

  • why doesn't my tapeworm sound like that :(

  • so nice!

  • Well, you sold me ,man! I was looking these little guys over on eBay and now I will definitely buy one for my synth arsenal-good work! Nice beats and blends..who needs a Theremin??-lol :)

  • thats awesome and i think ive commented on this before but if maybe you through in some drums into that loop you would get a top quality song. just a suggestion. Amazing

  • your music is awesome! takes me back to 80s....wicked.

  • what program did you use for the minikeyboard?

  • Just curious, I've never used one of these before. How do you know where the pitches are on the Kaossilator, I mean yeah its pretty straight forward, but how can you like, make sure you don't hit like, a half step down or up?

  • I guess you get a feel for it.

  • i had one for a while and its surprisingly easy to get to the note you want. you just feel it. plus you choose the scale you want to play in and it only gives you notes in that scale. so it always sounds like butta!

  • Do you choose the key or just the mode?

  • you can choose the specific key or scale like major minor blah blah blah

  • nice job man !!!!

  • BEAUTY! THIS IS AWSOME!!!

  • p.s. it'd be really sick if during sometime in the middle, drums come in.. just saying :)

  • Sounds good, dude. LOVE the intro. . .

  • what key and scale did you use?

    It sounds really good!!! :D

  • im selling my kaossilator, only used it about 3 or 4 times. its in perfect condition. if interested -> talk to me on myspace /briang91

  • Cyberspace refuses Kaossy Guitar video as video response... sounds like that guy scares about cool sounds^^ Cheers!

    COOL MUSIC HERE:)

  • comprate un cd de pearl jam

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • would be great with some drums

  • Love the the ideas. It turns into a nice song.

  • i love tweakbench synths. I found them while looking for an nes synth. Very... Unique plugins.

  • This song got me high.....god damn...

  • Very nice, really, just fantastic!!! I need a kaossilator too!

  • What's it plugged into?

  • Love it!!! 10/10

  • This is very charming and nice. Thanks for posting.

  • I'm looking for something like the kaossilator that could also be controlled by an external midi keyboard. In other words: a compact, cheap, portable synth with midi-in. Anyone know where I should look for something like that?

  • Im also looking for something like that, if you found one please tell me woutertron, if not il look. and report back. :P

  • I ended up getting a Novation A-Station second hand for about 150 bucks. It's a pseudo-analog rack synthesizer and works absolutely great.

  • im wondering if you coulds answer qestion

ca you use the kaossalater ads a synth ? plzz comment on my profile

  • um, yeah, hence the name "Kaosillator Dynamic phrase SYNTHESIZER"

  • i dont understand how you can cos there cant be more than on octave on the kaos also in a band situation i think it would be quite fidly to use compared to a proper keyboard and you cant realy play chords on it

  • it IS a synth

  • Amen Backoff55.

  • Reason's trash.

    Ableton live FTW

  • depends how you use it

question is do you know why reason is shit.

  • renoise ftw :P

  • I know it's a demo, but after a little while, that ostinato part gets to be too much.

  • seems to be a good japanese song for games

  • I've been reading reviews saying that the keys on the eKeys are too small.

    Would you agree?

  • Okay, it sounds pretty generic. And its all A Minor. Black keys need loving too!

  • this is what god listens to

  • yeah.

    denkitribe rulez

  • Upload your music please!!! Very few people play wonderfull music like this...

  • You can also use youtube downloader or anything like that and convert it to an mp3 ;)

  • Hi! All the kaossilator sounds are the industrial ones?

    Thanx..

  • that is well sick my friend, makes me so excited to get my Kaossilator!

  • cant wait they made a korg game for ds comes out nov 4 but when i checked the gamestop site they didn't have there

  • Ordered mine yesterday for 146 Euros^^ Think its worth it!!! Ure insane!!! Love this track and i think those strings arent bad at all even if they repeat it totally fits into ya skillZ!!

Visit my myspace for lisnin to my trancetrack done on reason. nick -- nightvisiontrance

  • got mine for €100 :D

    have fun w/ it :p

  • Great job!

Hell this is better then whatever else I have heard.

  • Holy freakin hell dude you're PLAYING A KAOSSILATOR... lolololol...

I love this.. Absolutely love it..

    You've made my night.. :)

  • cockyfarts

  • great sounds like music from metal gear solid

  • Sounds very nice, however, the string sample is very repetitive.

  • dude its a beat!!! dur!

  • It's a beat?... You can call it whatever you want, but it is repetitive and grows irritating after time.

    It's simply constructive criticism.

  • ok it is sorta

  • You look like a monkey, and you smell like one too..

    It's simply constructive criticism...

Seriously - the KAOSSilator is a TOY. I've never seen anyone actually "PLAY" it this well. This guy's a genius.. He has the gift... Let's see what you've done, mr smartypants.

  • You sound like a classically trained musician. A real trainspotter. Been a while since you had a comission? If you really are experienced (I have around 15 years, by the way), you'd know better than to pick on something like "repetitive" when that's a pretty standard feature of this genre of music. If it were an Aria or a Symphony you'd be right on the money. That's the only real reason it irritated me. Yeah, ok, it was an insult. I saw your giant bits and just had to take a swipe at them. ;D

  • pls more of this sounds :)

  • Très sympathique!!!

  • tyler says hi and he wants to no how your sister is doing

  • What program are you using for the backing track? It sounds really good.

  • It is Ableton Live. Amazing program.

  • what does it cost?

  • about $200 us

  • i really admire your talent

  • that should be an video game ending... it's very beautiful man, the Kaossilator is an amazing gear ;)

  • fucking sick

  • that was amazing

    just sounded brilliant

  • ...it's just beautiful...

  • omg heavy!

    in the mood :))
