That's what you think :-) No, you're right, but my purpose here is to maximize the amount of EXP you gain throughout the game so you have the best chance of getting all the items and other secrets later down the road. Also, I wanted to demonstrate the power of Banshee's Cry to those who weren't aware of the Fatal Damage thing.
One kind is a unit with "Morale Protect," which shows up when you defeat an enemy and reduce its morale. It will drop to 1, then glow yellow and say Protect, as with the case with Roswell here.
The other kind is when you reduce an enemy unit to one person... and it doesn't die. You will always lose against those enemies, unless you use an element combo attack, e.g. something with Holy UP plus Banish when only one guy is left.
Another way to get around it is to use a card that kills the enemies directly, such as Bloody Claw or Crusade. These enemies usually have the Morale Protect described above as well.
For your example of someone with Holy UP and Banish against a skeleton, that is called Overkill, right?
I believe that a higher GEN, not LUK, results in less criticals against your unit.
As usual, thanks for your added input! I didn't know that GEN was what prevented criticals - interesting. Otherwise, yep, it's called OverKill when you use an element card power with an item that has [element] UP against someone who is [X] [element]. And the second Morale Protect, the invincible kind, sure is ANNOYING!
the sync problem is most likely being caused by uploading it to youtube. how do you record from visualboy anyway? or, you have to convert the vid format or something
It's just a built-in function of Visual Boy. I've decided to record in smaller chunks, which means more videos but less time per video and, thus, less sync issues.
FYI, I've posted through Map 11 now, gonna tackle 12 in the next couple of days and then work up a good 13 (that'll be a string of videos by itself!)
