Well, Rebel, this was so fun to watch again, having been there a month ago. WOW, wonderful. I hadn't noticed to little fan in the green plaid shirt following Mr. Mathis almost the entire route. So adorable, probably one of his first 70's fans. Thanks again for introducing us to this wonderful, fun street.

Grew up a few blocks from there and as a kid in 1970 used to shine shoes in front of "Phillipes"just a block away. Oh shit! If I had known i'd of tried to give Johnny a shine that day. Maybe he would have paid me good or at least play Misty for me. Geez! I recognize a lot of the people in the background.many of them have passed away. Great video.

I just keep watching this video since I found it again. Has anyone else notice the little boy in the green plaid shirt in the background through the whole video...he was in awe of JM and followed him. I just thought it was cute and I wonder if the little boy became a singer. JM would be an inspiration to anyone who wanted to sing as a profession altho they could never match him in looks/voice/personality. Thanks again. God bless

I, too, live in LA and have been to Olvera St. for the great Mexican food. Wow, had I only been there to hear him sing, "Wave" by one of my favorite composers, Antonio Carlos Jobim. I always thought that the guitar in this song sounds so much like the late, great Wes Montgomery. Thank you for this!

TY, 19Rebel57, for another super JM video. I love this song, especially the way JM sings it. Of course, I love the way JM sings every song. I saw this late the other night and thought I had saved it; I didn't and about went nuts trying to find it. I have it now. I will watch it many many more times. I never tire of watching and listening to JM'svelvet voice. Give us more of these oldies, pleaaaassse. I like all of his tho anyway. You have a treasure trove of JM...TY, God bless.

Love it, thank you, Maria! My father used to come back from business trips to California and talk about Olvera street. I thought it must be the most wonderful and exotic place, ever. When he finally took mom and I there we still thought so! To imagine it with Johnny Mathis walking along, singing is just too much! Love the outfit and the wink!

Even though my husband and I have been to Olvera Street many times, my favorite memory was when my parents were visiting us and we took them there, and have photos of that day. Thanks, Maria, for this beautiful video of Johnny singing one of my favorite songs he has recorded. It was wonderful!
