Thank you for sharing this wonderful, historical video!
I included this video in a post on The Caravans on my cultural blog. That post is dedicated to my mother on her 91st birthday. Google Pancocojams Vintage Gospel Songs By Albertina Walker & The Caravans.
I'll never get tried of hearing Albertina & the Caravans, Just like she said about the songs they sung was to "mess you all up in the INSIDE....Glory!
Who could have ever known that six decades after this song was first produced and released to the public it would still be sustaining and inspiring so many? It is as "fresh" and relevant today as on the day it was written.
Could you please post "One Of These Old Days' by the Caravans? i haven't heard this song in quite a while and would love to hear it. Thank you very much either way. SIMON4186
I keep coming back to this song - just love it so much - is it available on a CD? If so -could someone post the name of the album coz I really want to buy it! TYVM! Peace to all :-)
Eddie Williams is still with us thank God. However, I want to make a correction, Eddie is not now nor has he ever worked as a Barber & never live in Tennessee. He still live in Chicago. Just wanted to set the record straight

What a beautiful classic...and Ordained group of singers! I could listen to this all the day long. Just so beautiful and you feel the Anointing of the Holy Spirit in their voices. Albertina Walker was absolutely great in her songs of Praise! A beautiful life she sung!

wow, them sistas are olden...I didn't know they even had electricity way back then? let alone steam engine...maybe they recorded on a steam engine record player???
I remember the locals singing this in Boston. My dad use to book the Caravans in 1960.I believe they asked for $250 a concert. Remember tickets were a dollar. Most people made $50 a week. Often times we would do a 60/40 or 70/30. The group got the higher percentage..All the Caravans were stars, but Inez always dropped the house on Mary Don't You Weep. Her voice defied normal voice range. She was phenomenal.
Inez Andrews' voice defied explanation and mortal ken! Even after she passed middle-age, she'd make yo' head spin. Listen at her sing Step By Step. (LORD, I gotta take my time..) Make you cry like you at a funer'l!
@JUSTTERRANCE08 I think it is, but as with Aretha Franklin, Albertina I think,,, was a smoker, and her voice may convey such! Baptist did smoke back in the day, and some still do today!
I used to sing with Eddie back in the 60's along with Bobby Womacks' cousin and we lost touch. If anyone knows how to contact Eddie please reply. Would love to see him again.
Eddie Williams has a great high tenor voice. I love it when he says "OH YEAAAAH", and "YEAAAH LAWDY". I wonder why they didn't get him to participate in the reunion?
I used to sing with Eddie and lost contact over the years. Do you have any sources that can tell me how to reach him. Would love to see him again. Glad to know he is still with us, so many of the greats are gone.

@alalal665 Yes, that is in fact Eddie Williams singing lead on this version of the song. Albertina sang lead on it in later years.

@alalal665 This is Eddie Williams leading this on the original album. Albertina Walker led it later on, however.
