  • ,Mancini , Williams and Mathis on the same bill, it does not get any better

  • Andy Williams is still performing at his Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri certain times of the year. Although video and audio are not allowed you may take photographs. He has a book of memoirs published in 2009 which I read and enjoyed. At 83 he is remarkable. Says he walks for an hour every morning. Andy is first class and so is his show and his restaurant across the street. Well worth a visit.

  • Andy Williams quote. "I loved Henry Mancini. I would rather sing a Mancini song than any composer I can think of. I must have sung 'Moon River' more that 10,000 times, and have never grown tired of it. Henry was one of the nicest men I've ever known, and he was funny with a devious sense of humor. Henry and I did tours together and many times after the concerts Columbia and RCA records would jointly give a cocktail party in our honor for the local press and record people."

  • Continuing Andy Williams quote. "I can't stand to have someone grab me by the elbow and guide me around to meet people. During the evening Henry would catch me off guard and come up behind me, grab me by the elbow and start guiding me somewhere and I would always turn in anger, until I realized it was Henry. He got me every time--never missed...I really miss him." The preceding is quoted from Henry Mancini "The Days of Wine and Roses" cd set booklet.
