I love the song, the slower tempo is nice. Too much bluegrass is played to fast for my taste. Enough about that !
One of the really nice things about this video is that the Banjo volume is nicely balanced with that of Annie's guitar. I like the clearity of the guitar rhythm coming through. IMHO
very nice picking and accompaniment and thank you for sharing. we had winds gusting up to 200 k/hr early this morning and alot of wood down. what make would your banjo be?
@malagastudent1 OK - here's the tuning. From open G raise the 2nd string to C - you're now in mountain minor. Capo at the 2nd fret but leave the 5th string as it is. As if you were in G tuning make an E chord fingering with your left hand but bring it up the neck another fret away from the capo. That sounds a G chord with the 1st and 5th string sounding the same. That's Cumberland Gap Tuning.

do you think they did alot of drinking on the cumberland gap in the old days?
Aleksandrgrc 1 month ago
@Aleksandrgrc They probably did as much drinkin' as anything else like banjo and fiddle playin'.

Excellant stuff. Our skiffle 'ensemble' played a version of this but the music here is much more melodious. Thanks.
