  • Nice videos... I have work and mud trucks, and have had Duramaxs...Powerstrokes and Cummins. All trucks could get stuck where that one was!! Except for maybe my BIG truck lol! Great video though!

  • Not sure why people think a different engine would be the difference between getting stuck and not. Tire rotation is tire rotation. Loss of traction in mud, is loss of traction in mud no matter what is turning the wheels. Its the nut behind the wheel that must be tightened before any nut between the wheels.

  • A lot of people use their work truck untill it is no longer work worthy, ie, in any construction job down time is extremely expensive so a breakdown is 3 or 4 times more costly than just the repair, once a truck hits this point its like a rodeo horse that is no longer rodeo worthy, doesnt mean you cant have fun with it though

  • You boys can argue this shit all day as far as I am concerned. I love diesel engines and use mine for work purposes. If I have to get in the sticky, I do. However, I would never purposely build a diesel powered mud bogger -even though they do exist. As far as longevity is concerned, hell yes the diesel wins hands down. To add, I would never buy a diesel powered anything to cruise the strip in, or as a grocery getter...that's just me. Glad y'all boys got him out.

  • @fomocowboy I didn't realize the cummins was being brought into the equation since the powerstroke is the one in the mud. also didn't realize people use 3\4 and one tons for mudding, thought we were comparing diesels to mud trucks which most are 1/2 ton 350 chevs. And also my ignorance I didn't even think about the gas powered 3/4 and 1 tons, to me they don't exist because it's pointless.   • @fomocowboy the car will be quicker but the turbo deisel is still faster! a car is also about 4000lbs lighter than the deisel and the deisel will still win in a race.

    deisel engines have been the best engine since the use of combustion engines and always will be! they get better gas, they're better for the environment, they're stronger, have a longer life span, the engine will keep running unil after the vehicle is wore out and will still always be better than a fuckin rice burner!!!!

  • @smourj21 The 5.9 litre Cummins diesel engine was used on Dodge Ram pickups from 1989 to 2007. The 12-valve version was produced from 1989 to 1998 and weighs 975 lbs. The 24 valve engine was used from 1998 to 2007 and weighs approximately 1,150 lbs.

    A ford 460 barely weighs over 700 lbs...... thats getting close to HALF the weight of a cummins. by the way, they dont make special frames for diesels and gassers, a 1 ton is a 1 ton..... with the diesel motor being an OPTION.

  • a chevy 350 is a small block. they weigh about 550 pounds and thats stock not including aluminium parts which would cut weight even more and the axles and frame are the same for gas truck as a diesel you obviously dont know what your talking about.

  • @smourj21 i did that to a chevy 2500 with my dodge. bent the receiver tube on his hitch so the ball wont come out anymore, and twisted the rear end of the frame. ford frames are pretty hefty though

  • @lindycavi04 Yeah the front driveshaft is a 2 piece slip style shaft so it can allow movement with the suspension, it just slipped out of the female side of the driveshaft, nothing is broke just slid right back in

  • The closer you get those 2 dodges together and the more in line you keep the entire pull more force will be used to pull the ford out. The further apart the 2 pulling trucks the more they work against one another and pulling force is lost. Just my 2 pennies.

  • @andrewgsb if you want to learn about diesel go to a place like cumminsforum to read not youtube 99 percent of these people dont have a clue what they are talking about on here. and there are lots of diesel tech schools depending on where you live there are different ones to go to.
