thanks for this video, i failed a telephone interview for HP technical 3 months ago. I have another opportunity this week, and I hope this helps, really want to nail the job this time!
A professional person, whether a recruiter or an employer, would not ring the doorbell. This could only happen if the employer is someone 'from around the corner' and this is a very casual type of situation. Even in that case it would be wrong for them to do this without previous arrangement with you. Personally I would shy away from an interview in my home, unless I had the right setting, the right atmosphere. Arrange to meet in a cafe, a library or other public space. Much better.
Informal! They could mean something totally different to what you and I think. I guess they mean that it's a 'personality fit' type of discussion ... they are intimating that they will not be delving into your work accomplishments but rather looking at whether you as a person is what they're looking for and if you'd fit their group. So you should prepare for EVERYTHING but also try to keep it 'informal'. Smile. Be nice. Think of hiking, camping etc. Sound interesting, enthusiastic. Good luck.
Nice video. I have a question to ask one question. On next Wednesday I m having a phone interview with an English Engineering Company(I will be talking from Greece). They have told me via e-mail that it is going to be informal.Obviously i have read about the company and wrote some questions I would like to ask them plus etc. What should i expect from an informal interview? Oh man i m a bit stressed.I ve never done this before.
