I agree Moffat seems to drag out this long extravagant script for each serie of 11th's run. Don't get me wrong I like the underlying plots, like the crack, mysterious River Song, and The silence will fall. It's just he builds it up and up and up and finally we're at the finale and what do we get....A Script that looks like it was written overnight explaining this underlying factor. I was very disappointed in River's Identity, i mean come on Moffat, you make this awesome mysterious woman who kno
i think the problems really lies with russell t davies. He changed the fundamentals of what the classic doctor who was about, the 4 parters the arc stories and just turned dw into a regular series like buffy or stargate.Stephen moffat has taken over but he cant really save the show cause its too late the mood of this new series has been set now,to me doctor who needs to go back to that old tom baker era where the pacing was slower not tennant or smith running around like bunnies with duracells.
Could not agree more. I've serious issues with Moff, could write pages about how problematic it is starting with the Doctor himself. We *knew* 9 and 10 but what do we know about 11? At the end of Tennant/RTD era the Doctor was beginning to deal with his issues. Since then, not so much!11 is in love with River? Moff *tells* us he loves her, but doesn't *show* us,breaking the first rule of writing: show, don't tell. How are we supposed to care about the characters if we don't know them?
@thegreentimtam Mate I never said the Mill was an App I said he probably used Adobe After Effects instead of decent effects in the last one as it looked like a cheap lightening bolt effect they used for The Silence and also the Chess Pieces. I also agree with my mate Mark that the show will finish in 2013 and probably the BBC will go for a Movie in America or Mini Movies once a year. I would like to see Moffat step down and give it to someone from the big finish crew that do excellent work
You make a lot of sense! Since Moffat took over, the scripts are awful-they don't make sense any more. Nobody i know watches it any more. it used to be must see.
the americans are going to get doctor who and to be honest they might make it better becuase they can spend a mint on their shows while here in the U.K. the BBC is so miserly and inefficent with funding that their unwilling to spend a shilling on doctor who and that makes me very cross becuase i love this show with all my heart. and to the person who made the comment below stargate sg1 sucks bollocks it is just merely a flash in the pan all icing and no cake!
Did you know that the weeping angels were in the pilot episode of Doctor Who at 2.43 mins in. It looks very much like one in the second part watch?v=jU4BxB52SYM
stargate sg1 is better than the so-called new dr who. In dr who the tardis does not go to earth every week like in the new dr who I hope it does get removed from TV
Heck now that I think back on it I might just rewatch this entire season and WRITE DOWN ALL THE UNEXPLAINED THREADS. I do a lot of writing and this level of inconsistent storytelling as we have seen just royally pisses me off!
I just remembered yet ANOTHER thing that was left unexplained. Watch "Day OF The Moon". At 20:11 Canton is in the office with the other man, the supervisor. there is a knock at the door. CRANK THE VOLUME. The man gets up and answers the door.
The "supervisor" : "Its just some questions."
Voice replies: "Yes, I see."
I maybe crazy but that voice sounded like MATT SMITH! Never explained.
I agree to a certain degree, I think the story lines have been a bit all over the place but its hard for a new viewer to watch if they keep this continuation time line. I was confused about the perfume thing as there was no reference to that in the first epsisode this season. I thought the ganger episodes were the best. it should have been a ganger doctor

Am I the only one that believes there is no family resemblance between RIver Song to anyone else in the series? Certainly not to the Doctor! Call me silly but I would have liked to have seen some similarity but I for one cannot see any.
Why not bring back the whole horde of the older Doctor Who's into the possible final episode - Time Lords can go anywhere anytime right? Love to see the confusion there.
Amy and rory had sex in the TARDIS so melody was exposed to the time vortex so her genetics changed, that how timelords become time lords by looking inside the untempered skysm. Jenny didn't regenerate she came back due to the terraforming of the planet.
David Tennant loved Doctor Who throughout his life. I would expect that he would absolutely love to turn up for the 50th anniversary and pick up the roll again, so I dont think they'll have a hard time negotiating wages etc.
The BBC is making excuses really. They've had YEARS to tackle the license fee issue and they (like many BSters) have only bothered now since the recession. Why doesn't Mark Thompson have a pay cut? From Wikipedia:
In January 2010, Thompson was strongly criticised over the size of his £834,000 pay packet, and was told by one of his own journalists that "there are huge numbers of people in the organisation who think your salary is plain wrong and corrosive."
@thatsthewayitgoes09 Think about that Steve ONE OF HIS OWN journalists has expressed disquiet about his pay and I think that's excessive. Add all the other savings created by pay cuts to other NON ESSENTIAL top brass and I bet it could be in the high millions.
But no surprise surprise the little people get the chop. Mark T has admitted in the future the cuts are going to be REALLY painful.
@thatsthewayitgoes09 remember eldorado a total farce where the BBC spent loads of money on it. It was meant to be a bit like Eastenders but Abroad. They must have spent millions on the set. Despite people still going now as Tourists who remember the soap they still have not recouped their losses. Very Very Sad
@Aspergianstar2009 Ohh yeah that show? The producer was Verity Lambert who was the FIRST WHO producer and even she felt it was a mistake with actors who were.... er.... less than good. Sometimes it was was rather good but it seemed like a local play half the time.
Wanna go on skype? I think there's a pod cast in this. "Wedding" was good with Dorium and other things but the ending was almost a SNEER at the intelligence of the audience.
i think that river was conceived in the tardis while it was in flight so therefore she can regenerate your right it still don't make sense to me either still confused hopefully series 7 will make more sense it's too complicated the 1st episode i saw from doctor who was dalek with the 9th doctor and it was awesome the stories made alot more sense i could be wrong but i think the writers are getting a bit lazy maybe? i don't know i'm still going watch doctor who i hope series 7 is better God bless

You do realize that Steven Moffat also has to work on Sherlock for series 2 in the spring, right? He isn't just working on Doctor Who.

@nonalignedspace Yeah there's an interview with RTD where he says he intended that to be the Doctor being fictitious.
