  • In terms of my model of intention, Disintention would be the conscious mind closing a loop.

For example, some show asks a useless bit of trivia question at the beginning. If you decide you're interested in knowing the answer, then you've just opened a loop. A subconscious process is now online looking for the answer.

The answer is given at the end of the show. The subconscious process receives the answer and releases the unit of intention.

  • @shawnhartnell I believe that our total intention is limited. So if a loop stays open and the decision which opened it is forgotten, the whole thing keeps running but is inaccessible to the conscious mind.

Even though it's inaccessible, because it's still running it causes all kinds of problems not understood by the person.

I believe this is the root mechanism of repression.
