...is our clinging to a 3 spatial-dimensional world just the result of a lifetime of conditioning, or is there an objective reason why there must be 3 spatial dimensions in reality? ....
I too think it's a matter of our human brain limitation more than a consequence of conditioning, which makes the thing more hopeless but also much more interesting, challenging and tragic. Theory helps us to realize how much we can understand and how limited we are at the same time. How our brain deals with reality. That's the big mistery I think, not all that esoteric bullsh*. The song actually puts me in the tragic mood needed to really feel it. Btw, I love how the erratic lfo synth gets
Luckily, geeky types don't need to "see" 4D objects to understand and apply them - as an example, use of hypercubes in network topology of compute clusters.
There's no conditioning, it's a physical limitation - humans are limited to 3D. Even if we treat time as a 4th spatial dimension, we can only project a 4D object as a series of 3D slices.
Your video is gorgeous, but we're looking at 2D slice projections of a 4D object. We are all aware of the loss of fidelity when projecting 3D to 2D, so we can begin to imagine what is being lost when flattening yet another dimension.
Yes you(re totally right about the artificial way 4D is here represented. The idea of the video was more about representation of dimension than dimension itself. If you pay attention you will see a lot of confrontation and mixing of representation of 2,3 and 4D in the the same simultaneous space and also mixing of isometric and "regular" 3D. The idea was actually to experiment with those representation reconized by your brain to creat a small shift.
@Graphset perfectly comprehensible. Thank you for taking the time to reply - I'm watching your video again with new eyes. Are you a fan of MC Escher by any chance?

All your tunes have the same top quality. You and Stephan Bodzin are the best producers. Deep, dark, complex melodies and builds, wow.
