The US has been the trouble makers in the world decades ago, sticking their noses into places which they dont belong, stirring up trouble in every corner of the globe, helping a country but asking more in return, and spending billions on military assets annually. @keynesac Well, the UK's military is actually downsizing as we speak. Literally. This will be the smallest UK military size EVER since who knows when. As of this year, UK squadron strength is now headed for record lows. It's really quite amazing what has happened to the former British might. Just goes to show that all things in life are cyclical. Japan should conclude a military alliance with the USA, Phillipines, Australia, South Korea, and Taiwan, post-haste. There are existing protocols and organizations already, but they should be reorganized for efficiency and to be stronger. Japan also needs to increase it's defense budget, once they finish their recovery.

@keynesac Well, the UK's military is actually downsizing as we speak. Literally. This will be the smallest UK military size EVER since who knows when. As of this year, UK squadron strength is now headed for record lows. It's really quite amazing what has happened to the former British might. Just goes to show that all things in life are cyclical. HK is actually doing great these days. It's economy is benefiting quite well from the motherland.

Japan should conclude a military alliance with the USA, Phillipines, Australia, South Korea, and Taiwan, post-haste. There are existing protocols and organizations already, but they should be reorganized for efficiency and to be stronger. Japan also needs to increase it's defense budget, once they finish their recovery.

Many nations are extremely dependent on exports to the U.S. and other nations but especially to the U.S. Germany is the number 1 exporter right now while China is second and they both rely heavily on trade with Americans. The same with Japan and Western Europe, they both rely heavily on trade with the U.S. Fighting the U.S. for these nations is suicide.

The U.S. signed a defense treaty with Taiwan in the 70's and China hasn't touched Taiwan. The royal family of the Manchurian Qing (pronounced Ching) Dynasty was overthrown by the Guomindang party in 1911. The treaty between the USA and the ROC means jack shit, there have been several incidents where the PRC has attacked the outlying islands of the Republic of China on Taiwan.
