The original song is by Dido, not Over the Rhine. This one is basically a copy rather than a cover, as it was made to sound almost exactly the same.
The thing is, not many people are aware that this song exists because Dido's version was never officially released (as the album it was on, 'Odds & Ends', was never officially released either) so it's pretty rare.
The original is from at least 1995, but it may be older. OTR's version was released in 2001 on their studio album 'Films for Radio'.
One of the best songs ever. But sorry, I don't think it works as well for Harry as it should. The concept of the song does, but the actual song? Not really.
Still, it's good to know I'm not the only person who knows about this awesome song. So, thank you for using it, regardless of how you did so. ^^;;

Even though this Version is performed by "Over the Rhine"...
Dido was 1 of 6 songwriters that contributed to the creation of this Song..
The lyrics really reflect Dido's ability as a songwriter & so many of her songs have part of life in them..This is another one of those songs..
Thanks Robby & Bob for sharing & sending...

Dido sings it much better, but it's still interesting to hear a different vocal on the song.

This version of the song is slightly different than the one I have. Is this a remixed/early version?
