@giusevasi it would work 1 if them units for about an hour, but you will need 2 of these units ( tv, ps3) so it will last about 30 mins. the conclusion is you will need to spend $140 carry a 10 pound unit around camping with you for 30 mins play.

I just ordered this one, I know it has a wimpy battery, but it still should have a longer run time than my uninterpretable power supply (which I use in emergency's to run a tv). I am thinking about taking your suggestion and putting a larger 12-14 ah agm battery in it, if I can get it to fit. Thanks for the honest review.

It weighs about 10 lbs. -- If you are looking for something for personal use, might I suggest one of the solar chargers from the Energizer Energi-to-Go line? They're smaller, lighter and designed for your personal electronics gear.

If you want something bigger, Horizon makes a few fuel-cell backed solar units that are light and easy to pack. (You add the water when you reach your destination.)

I would also like to comment on the charge indicator on the digital display.yes it is quite inaccurate when at first glance however, it says in the manual that the reading will only be accurate when the unit has sat 15 minuits without being used or charged. I found this to be true,but your right,without sitting for the above mensioned period,the reading is pretty bogus.

hi, you said you can charge the power pack with a bigger solar panel plugged into the DC socket.what volt,amp,and watt panel do you recomend? do I have to have anything else like a charge controller or a regulator? that extra panel would be great to speed up solar charges as I use this thing for power at my cabin(I dont need much power just a bit at night)how much faster do you estimate it would charge with the extra panel?

Just make sure that you hook the panel up to a 12 volt regulator and plug that into the DC power in on the Xantrex. (It will charge must faster.)

I would love to see a product like this that has the ability to run my laptop on its own. That is, using the solar panel to make my laptop (which is also my desktop) run off the grid completely.

During the day the panel would power the laptop and charge the battery, and at night would use only the battery charge.
