@tj007razor I did use my brain. I said it because this video and its description do not, as far as I'm aware, specify that it's a US-only campaign. The issue is a global one so the natural assumption is that the campaign should be a global one too. It makes sense to campaign to national politicians but it seems that other nations' importance has been overlooked - there could easily be links about how to campaign in your own country if you're not from the US, or something along those lines.

They all will be able to afford internet access without Net neutrality. For some there is - as they said about "back then" - no internet. Before the 'net, were BBSes and net-like services (AOL, Compuserve, Prodigy). Anyone who knows what a 14.4 is, knows how horrible a non-neutral internet might look like: sure, you could play games on AOL, but forget shopping. You could shop on Prodigy, but not Compuserve. ...And Compuserve was just a glorified forum. Among those of us who preferred freedom and neutrality... we chose BBSes, and brought it to the 'net as is. Companies like Verizon are the Prodigy of times past. Net-Neutrality ftw.

We've got a free and neutral internet right now. Getting the FCC or other government entity involved will only guarantee that the internet will become a regulated mess that only the government can create. It will be anything but free and neutral.

@carshooter The problem with that is that although we currently do have a free internet, the big corporations are wanting to control it more strictly. They're wanting to implement different levels of access to the internet, and put controls on sites individually. It was mentioned in the video that if it came to be as Comcast, Verizon, etc wanted it to, you may possibly not be able to access your favorite site quickly, or at all, because they couldn't afford to give you access.

And, if the government restricts your access to something you have no recourse.
