  • @Mike8901000 - lol tell me about it :I

  • the music sounds kinda metal gear-ish...

  • @BrokenGeneration solid snake used to be in the green berets too i believe

  • @MrRocketboy23 you mean naked snake ?

  • @BrokenGeneration no solid snake was a green beret before joing foxhound, naked snake was also a green beret. .....idk why im talking about this on a military video

  • @Crazyfreak221 i dont know i said that the music sounded like metal gear thats alll

  • 3:12 "not people....just Taliban"

  • i never understood why we gave them radios.. its practically saying here.. now go make a bomb out of this

  • Rangers fall under SOCOM and are considered shock troops. They mainly conduct night raids, air assault missions, and high value target detention/elimination. Rangers are always at risk of death because they have missions that are considered the most dangerous.

Ranger vs Special Forces vs CAG aka Delta Force

Rangers primary use in the military is shock and awe. They go in hard, fast, and exfil just the same. The missions they are given usually involve heavy combat within the current theaters o

  • SEALs are cool and all, but there really ISN'T a more versatile group than the Green Berets. SEALs are MARITIME commandos anyways. Can't compare them to Army Special Forces, the masters of chaos. And the only reason BUD/s is said to be tougher than SFAS is because its regular sailors going through that training. SFAS is putting fully trained airborne Infantrymen, and Rangers through their training. Obviously there will be fewer dropouts.

  • @CaptainAmerica322 I'm sure Delta is more versatile, they recruit from Special Forces.

  • @SteelCityDucati

I'm aware they recruit from SF (among others) however, the MISSION of SF, is more versatile than that of Delta.

  • @SteelCityDucati Delta is a DA/ hostage rescue unit, SF do both of those but focus on other missions as well, so yes you could say SF is more versatile.

  • @CaptainAmerica322 Yup. Plus SFAS is more comparable to Hell Week, and SFAS is longer than Hell Week. SFQC is more like BUD/s, but I think SFQC is a bit longer. Special Forces are incredible and are the best at their job. That's why you never hear about them - because you're not supposed to.

  • for people arguing all US SOCOM members are elite there the best of the best and they do what specialize in. arguing that one is better then the other is stupid because they all have different roles and task though they may cross train they each have their own jobs and the their main job is the safety of US citizens so quit arguing ...

  • No body seems to understand. Ok yes Navy SEALs kill HVTs and have tough training. But hearing from a former SEAL/Ranger. The life of a Ranger is tougher than the life of a SEAL. Also said there outcome is the more damaging. Killing HVTs brought bigger and badder people to power. Rangers and SF have the longest effect. SF just reigns hell behind enemy lines. And the reason why SEALs is so hard is because of the length and they can only have a certain amount pass.

  • that guy narrating is hilarious

  • does any body know of any documentary's like this?

  • @RogersRangeUH Sea Air and Land. you work in those environments. pretty much every environment. they also have the hardest training in the world. iin my opinion, Green Berets and SEALs are the best SOF

  • @FLAMINGPICKLES obviously you havent been to SFAS... or BUD/s.. or Combat diver... or even airborne school..... no matter what branch your in, you work with all environments.

would you send a platoon of Rangers to do an ODA's job? no. you know why? because they ARE ALL TRAINED DIFFERENTLY. and your sorry self probably would last the first day in BUD/s,RASP1,SFAS, or even jump school. your argument is invaild

  • This is a sexy mans job, where do i sign..

  • @judokka did you ever live in Vegas?

  • @bigro4444 Nope sorry, never even bee there.

  • @TheAngrybird25 in my mind, SEALs is the best special operations unit. i think partly because SEALs stands for Sea Air and Land. i have an Uncle who was a Green Beret and he cant tell me what he did except say that he was a Green Beret. both are VERY prestigious.

  • @FLAMINGPICKLES and how are the seals the "best sof?

  • @RogersRangeUH - I would say in terms of counter insurgency conflicts and nation building, the Green Beret is the better tool for the job. However the SEAL teams are indeed best used for the tasks of hunting HVTs. SEAL training is much more devoted to surgical, high speed operations then Green Beret ethos. But in the end, both have a much needed capability.

  • @joehavin1 did i ask for your opinion? no. i did not. i am not an idiot, i know what each sof does.... i was asking narrow minded type A douche that calls himself "FLAMINGPICKLES" why the SEALS are the "best" sof. they aren't... different jobs, different missions, different training....because last time i checked Charlie Sheen played in the movie Navy Seals.. look how he turned out

  • god bless these brave men! thank you!

  • This is bullshit, these special forces don't need to be used for this type of shit.

  • @MrBodiddly86 Then explain what they should be used for.

  • The green berets equal special forces, unlike navy seals and rangers.

  • I want to know what spec ops is the best????? Please coment

  • @TheAngrybird25 They all have their purposes. You want the seals to seize an oil tanker but the marines for large scale invasions.

  • how is the guy at 3:38 fit enough to make it into the Green Berets?

  • @ThatCheetosGuy79 Because Special Forces aren't looking for fucking jar heads. They will take intelligence and combat effectiveness over a six pack any day. And he could be with and ODB.

  • theres no toughest of the tough

a man with a gun is a man with a gun

  • I want to be in the special forces but I can't grow a beard :(

  • @AvengedSevenfan6 haha dou dont have to man, my neighbor is a GB and he doesnt have one... look at the SEALs too, all clean cut my cousin is one

  • 0:10 MY FAVORITE GUN! AUG...right there!!!

  • @phester061594452 That's an M4.

  • Clear a couple things up. Rangers do deploy more frequently than other units because their deployments only last around 90 days, which is why it's not uncommon for a Ranger to rack up several tours. And Delta does not draw its recruits EXCLUSIVELY from Army SOF, granted most Delta operators are former Green Berets or Rangers. But it IS open to regular troops

  • 4 people are now in the taliban

  • lol....what do you mean "Thank you NatGeo for allowing this to be posted!", They make millions off this type of content when they sell advertising. They are media whores. Who you really need to thank for allowing the camera crew into Afghanistan with the unit in the first place is the dumbass command that let these jackasses get embedded with the team.

  • UNITED WE STAND TALL DIVIDED WE FALL DEEP DOWN WE ARE ALL US SOLDIGERS

  • @soberorhigh no not really.

  • @soberorhigh No. You are only a U.S. Soldier when you earn the title by going through Basic Combat Training in the U.S. Army.

  • They need more these

  • members of Taliban Hunting Club

  • Acronyms are the first thing Generals change when they take charge. Unfortunately when there are changed needlessly lessons learned are sometimes lost. Observation Point/Post (OP). My point is someone knew where to plant the IDE. I'll bet the guy knew the HUMMER was over an IDE and marked the target with his headlights. I marked targets with WP back in my day. Wonder what White Phosphorus is called now.

  • @MultiAsslover1 why is the usmc over the army hahaha. why is there no devgru or marine spec ops? were those things not up ur butt where you got this list from?

  • Just watched NatGeo's latest war doc 'Restrepo' which made me think of this great episode. Compelling and awesome, featuring America's bravest, whoever they are and whatever unit they're in.

  • While out on patrol the Green Berets find the overnight OP site was planted with 5 IEDs. The delaying the approach, as the IED were detonated. The night was a zero ambit light night. The first 2 Humvees make it to the OP. The last Humvee as it starts to move out the Afghan Army Truck behind turns on its heads light Illuminating it seconds later an IED goes off killing two American Soldiers. Question were any of the Afghan Soldiers ever held accountable for their betrayal? Emmett USMC ANGLCO

  • @EmmettConrecode IEDs were planted at a over watch position not a OP know one at fault...

  • Wait until we get these guys Nano suits...

  • great video

gives a really good perspective on what our green berets are doing

cant wait to be able to go through assesment and selection to be a special forces soldier

  • @MultiAsslover1 why do people insist on making a list on who's the toughest? just because your job title is "navy seal" doesnt mean your tougher than "marine" there might be an airmen who is tougher than a delta operative. There might be a ranger who is tougher than a green beret. My point is you cant just generalize different forces and say "oh these guys are tougher because their seals and airmen are in the chairforce" My second point is your neither and never will/Could be..soo.........

  • @andrademeza You're absolutely correct, it relies on the individual. But some outfits are considerably and arguably tougher than others. For example, SEAL training, BUD/s, is around (including SQT) 1 year of non-stop training. We know Army Delta training is similar. Some would say these outfits are 'tougher' as a whole to get in to.

  • The Tier One Operation Teams include the Navy Special Development Group, also call DEVGRU or SEAL Team 6. And 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta, or 1st SFOD Delta, which is Delta Team. Your all very welcome.

  • @Ascotyforfood yes thank you, thank you for posting the same comment giving the same information thats posted on every video that has to do with special operations forces.

  • manned by a handful of green berets......... but they are GREEN BERETS so it doesn't matter

  • green berets arent spec ops they are special forces the only special forces in america all else classified as spec ops

  • Delta Force is a nickname for 1st Special Operations group. They choose their recruits from the 75th Rangers and Army Special Operations(Green Berets). Their job is specialized in counter-terrorism.

  • green berets are number one....delta doesn't exist

  • @MultiAsslover1 delta isnt real for one and theyre not better than SEALs, SEALs, are the toughest men out there and are not human.

  • @MultiAsslover1 your retarded delta force is army and it is a combination of navy seals, rangers, force recon marines, and air force pararescue

  • @wowboosters i couldn't have said it better myself!

  • @wowboosters

There are no Recon Marines in delta... Delta is almost entirely made up of SF, and Rangers.

  • I don't want to sign an 18x contract for the army I want to sign an 11x contract, so if I go that rout which I will, when will I be eligible to so called "try-out" for SF or Rangers? Thank you.

  • some1 help me organize the ranks....

    -Navy Seals

    -Green Berets

    -Delta Force

    -USMC

    -US Army

  • @Killer31st there is no ranks and none is better than the other but if you are looking for level of clandestine missions it would go navy seals and delta force are tier one, im pretty sure green berets are tier 2, and the marines and army are on the same level, they are the base of the military and seals berets and delta are at the tip of the spear

  • @sirhclopez SEALs are not Tier1, DEVGRU (one Team of SEALs) is Tier 1. The rest of the SEALS do the white side mission identically to U.S. Army SF, and MARSOF. It takes 20 SEALs and their support to do what 8 ODA members do.

  • @Killer31st Not that we can rank them but.. 10% of people who try become green berets.. and Delta requires you to be either 75th Ranger or Green Beret, and the attrition rate is 92%... not to mention they have to select YOU for training they don't take anyone of the street like most SF now days. Delta has the highest attrition rate in the US military. With only an estimated 1,000 operatives right now they are the hardest to get in. But toughest? have you ever even met a SEAL or a Delta? Doubt it

  • @0311Duce why does everyone talk about toughest or the best they refer to delta and seal? there are other tough

forces in other branch like marine force recon and the air force pararescue they're hard core too

  • @monkeydood6 Like I said.. "not that we can rank them". I use those two as examples because they are both Tier 1in JSOC. Well DEVGRU is Tier 1. I never said anyone is tougher than anyone but these are two of the hardest Special Operations to get into in the world. The fact that "Killer31st" had Delta third??? Just above USMC? He's an idiot that has no idea what hes talking about...

  • @0311Duce who gets to go on more mission's? i always hear about rangers and green berets! are delta's from the navy branch?

  • @danny61992173 It depends. But Army Rangers go on a lot of combat tours, probably the most as far as I know. But all Special Operations and the Army Special Forces Green Berets go on many "missions". Delta

Force recruits strictly from Army Special Operations and Green Berets.

  • @0311Duce nice, just wanted to know thanks man!

  • @Killer31st

That makes no fucking sense...USMC? What do they have to do with anything? Up until a few years ago, they didn't even HAVE a SOCOM unit. US Army? Thats an entire branch of the military of which the Green Berets, Delta Force, and Rangers are a part of... And you can't have ranks. They all do a specific job.

  • thanks for uploading plan on being a weapons sargeant

  • 2 people are in the taliban

  • @steelers443332099 now there 2 more terrorist.

  • So the green berets are so badass that they can have beards and they dont have to shave their heads?

  • @1337faqsguy Yes, in order to show the Afghan people that they are not trying to force American culture on them and that their own culture and traditions are respected. SF usually works closely with Afghan military, training them to fight. This encourages the people that Afghans are stopping the Taliban, not Americans.

  • @DrummerBoyz95 Ah, I read about something similar during the crusades. Knights would grow their beards out to gain the respect of the Muslims.

  • AMERICA!

  • Just got back from AFG deployed to all areas over 7 tours.. People really dont know what its like, Thanks NatGeo... What a Rush... Special Ops All Day Baby!!!

  • You must feel pretty bad ass shooting people when you have the latest modern technology, helmets and body armour. Wow I wish I was that hard. I would take that fat fuck out in a face to face bare knuckles fair fight.

You think Im being un patriotic? Well an injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere. if they can do it abroad, they can do it here at home, and they will. Just watch.

  • @thotkrime

no you wouldn't those guys could kill you with a napkin (to use a comment from a comedian). Its one thing to hate on the cause, its another to call out the soldiers. I sincerely hope you do try to fight one so they can show you how not mean you are.

  • @thotkrime LOL, youre a pathetic joke. You wouldn't even make it past Basic

  • @24Rorschach Why would I want to go through basic? You dont need to go through basic to kick someone's ass. Get off that GI Joe shit. And for the record, not that it even means anything but I beat a ranger and a marine's ass in sparring. Now I need to add green beret to my list.

  • @thotkrime I never said you wanted to go to basic and I never said you needed to it to kick someones ass. By the way, the Green Beret is going to quick your ass in any kind of fight- they are a whole different breed of warrior compared to Rangers and Marines.

  • @24Rorschach whats the difference between green berets and rangers?

  • @AmericanGMS You know a simple google search would answer all your questions faster than I can... but Ill answer anyway. Rangers and SF are very different. Rangers are a light infantry, shock oriented force. Their mission is Direct action, air assault, airborne, airfield seizure and recovery of people or equipment. SF works in smaller groups and specialize in unconventional warfare, counter terrorism, special recon, and direct action.

  • @AmericanGMS Both groups can do a lot more things than listed but that would take forever to list. SF is held to higher standard than Rangers (no disrespect to the Rangers, those guys can open up a serious can of whoopass). Many soldiers become Rangers before going SF. SF is in my opinion the most versatile special operations group in the US military. SF is also a force multiplier, which means that they teach locals how to fight. Hence their motto "to liberate the oppressed:.

  • @AmericanGMS Fun fact: the Army's SF would've trained the Mujahideen if the military / government could get approval but they couldn't. so instead, the CIA trained the Mujahideen to defeat the Soviets. I personally think the CIA operatives that trained the Mujahideen were in SAD of the CIA. Those guys are probably the best of the best, seeing as how they recruit soldiers from Delta force and Devgru (which is a step up from SF).

  • @24Rorschach wait so delta force is better then green berets?

  • @AmericanGMS Delta force recruits only the top candidates from the Green Berets and Rangers. They also take top warriors from other Branches of the Military. So yes, I guess you could say they are "better". But that's a very subjective thing to say. Its incredibly tough just to pass SFAS selection let alone even be considered for Delta.

  • @24Rorschach Delta and DevGru are not better but are more specialized in what they operate in such as counter terrorism and man hunting

  • @24Rorschach i dont really know about the ranks or branches but from what i understand is that delta picks the best from the rangers and green's to do a certain mission? in other words like teams picking their best players for an all-star team

  • @AmericanGMS

Not better. Different. And a step above. As in, SF are recruited to be in Delta.

  • @24Rorschach - The Berets were also the people who trained the Brigade 2506. You know the Cuban exiles who trained to invade Cuba at the Bay of Pigs. David Ferrie was a Green Beret and was one of them who was training those guys down in Louisiana back in those days. It's said that Lee Harvey Oswald was one of those also training or helping train. And that guy James Files who said he was the one who shot Kennedy from the knoll was a Green Beret in Laos and was also one of them training Cubans.

  • @TheHogger129 Lee Harvey Oswald was a Marine.

  • @24Rorschach The best of the best after while thier is only so much you can exspect from a soldier you start t go in circles saying that bet of the best stuff what it really comes down to is can you do what is needed to be done and survive

  • @AmericanGMS Rangers are elite infantry while green berets are specialized "multi-purpose" soldiers. The main mission of green berets is foreign internal defense, stuff like training the Iraqis to fend for themselves. In a nutshell...

  • Ok Scotty and Dibbs. Dibbs you are correct that recruiters use the 18 xray mos as bait for kids. Your APFT scores do matter dont get me wrong but you wont even get looked at unless your intelligence aptittude tests are very high and you have to have a note in you file from senior cadre that says your a natural leader. Understand that the attrition rate for Green Hell and SERE is 97% all GBs are type A personalities, it"s a wolf pack mentality and we sniff out the weak.

  • get out of Afghanistan

  • @ghsayhaghragha10 get off this video

  • @ghsayhaghragha10 After we tear down Kabul till the highest building is only 5 feet high

  • my dad was a navy seal. he was a tough son of a bitch. but he always talked about the green berets as being hard motherfuckers. he always said two things. navy seals get orders and go do what they are told. find the enemy and kill them. green berets get orders. find them. inpsect them. and if needed kill them. the difference is dont care or get attached. they are human .The difference is nationality. do what is needed not what is wanted.

  • Shut up and get it done. Quit talking and start doing what it takes to get where you want to be.

  • @ClydeMcFarlain With that mindset, i guarentee youll make it. Good luck man and remember everyone at selection is physically fit but the guys who make it got the strongest heart.

  • @ClydeMcFarlain Honestly there is no way to prepare for it, most of the guys who go to selection for SF are all physically fit but the ones who make it are just destined to be Green berets. If your true and only reason to join the Army Special Forces is so that you can show off to your friends and family or maybe just because you want to be the ultimate "badass" i guarantee you wont make it a day in selection, the guys who make it are the ones who have a legitimate reason pushing them forward.

  • @007nichols I'm enlisted under the 18-X enlistment option right now. While being a Ranger would definitely aid me in my quest to become an SF operator, it is not neccessary. Once you complete Army OSUT at Ft. Benning, you can head directly to airborne and then to SOPC at Fort Bragg. After that, it's to SFAS and then onto the rest of training, if I qualify. Don't talk about things you have no idea about. You never served, quite obviously.

  • @Scottyknew You do know that recruiters use the 18-X enlistment option as a recruiting tactic just to trick young kids like you into enlisting because they know that 98% of the guys who do this option dont make it but and guess where your going when you dont. The Infantry!!, but no worries after a couple deployments as an infantrymen the next time you go out for SFAS youll be better prepared. My buddy is a recruiter by the way so I didnt just bring that out of my ass but good luck to you.

  • @dibbsssss Actually, if you can score higher than 280 on the army physical (I can) you have a 78% chance of being selected following the conclusion of Phase 1. In fact, those who enlist via 18-x have the highest levels of selection versus those who come in through the "typical" track." Coming in at a close second are ex-rangers. So, while yes, many young, dumb kids are seduced into the army by the allure of wearing a green beret, these young kids have the best chance for being selected.

  • @007nichols You do not. you can enlist with an 18X mos enlistment option if you qualify physically and mentally. Being a Ranger is not a requirement for anything. And whether you have served or not, (which I highly doubt) remember that you are on a VERY public Internet sight, running your mouth about our military is an unwise choice. Saying less protects our boys in the field.

  • @007nichols you know whats hallariouse guy's? It's constantly changing. ROFL

  • @007nichols nigga you just went full retard. It takes two and a half years of military training, than you can audition for Fort Derrick Green Beret School

  • whats better green berets or army rangers?

  • @AmericanGMS Green berets are more train I think.

  • @AmericanGMS They're both awesome dude. All special forces are pretty much tied on the bad-ass meter, they just all specialize in different things

  • @AmericanGMS They are both highly trained, but Green Berets have the edge i would think

  • very sick vid

  • am not a smart guy and i know the special focres are right. but i really think the elders that walk over there just set them up just to get ambush. Way the hell out their with no cover was a good plan and walk right in to it. They sholud of had air support at aleast at that point up the road. But i could be wrong, bad calls from the get go "planing takes time" but good war film it will be watch for a long time

  • I love Nat Geo!!!

  • The "front lines" in this war are so FUBAR, they are 10 times worse then the line @ Bastonge in WW2.

  • @DickHouseInc fucked up beyond all repair

  • Thanks NatGeo for allowing this to be posted!

  • @tobigforyou Natgeo used to have the full version on youtube but i think they removed it

  • thanks man

  • Great Stuff thanks for posting
