That message you got while trying to take the helmet is the same message you get when you try to take an opponents weapon or shield in the arena. i guess the game fucked up and thought you were in the arena.

fuking gay u hold the annalog button or if pc its the z button or ps3 its r1 noob it nt a glich on the last oblvion games objects keep getting stuck under ded people so when they made this game they made it u can move a objects to be able to grab tht object it in your oblvion elder scrool book in the game case NOOB
